Out of curiosity if your not from either Figaro or Melmond why did you pick Aegis?
just wanted add more Fabulousity to an already nice server :P.
hehe basically me and friends choose aegis to better suit our timezone as oceanic/gmt +8 players. we have got to know alot of friends in our server from all zone, but we felt in order to really enjoy and not be lack of people in coming contents or more stuffs, we decided to move here. Almost all 16 of us manage to do the transfer, think left 3 or 4 still spamming apply in hopes to get in. hope they got the chance. don;t wish lose them too
So were you able to get in? Thanks to all the inactive players taking up slots, most of the worlds filled up almost instantaneously...but if you did, grats!
yea the 10+ of us did get in, except for a couple. They reopened the server today, just hope the frieneds make it in time :P
as of now. entire shell manage get in. :D. can have a peace of mind now. and hope to play together with rest of u all and make new friends :)
I can't get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Question, do the 2 original servers do a fair share of pick up group shouts for things? (moogle, ifrit)
thanks in advance.
Don;t give up, the server have slot open at every now and then. And also has open slot when they manually re evaluate the servers and update it. This occurs during Evening of PST to the late hours. Or rather, at when SE is at work :). Plenty of slots were open up for several hours at 3pm JST today. 1am EST
On Melmond, I don't notice a whole lot of group shouts. Of course, I'm probably playing at off-peak, and I don't tend to idle in Ul'dah enough to know for sure. We're technically a medium pop world, but things don't seem that way. I heard Figaro has a much better population, though, so I expect things will even out and end up just like how most other worlds will be after the merge.
The game will eventually have a content finder, which will probably make group shouts obsolete, but I hope there is the option to only seek members from your own realm. The whole worldless recruitment thing tends to have issues in other games that I'd like to hope we can avoid in FFXIV...
You'll see shouts from time to time. From stronghold grps to Ifrit (haven't seen moogle myself). Shouts are rather infrequent as they are genreally used to fill last spots which LS members or friends couldn't fill.
Figaro normally has shouts throughout the day (and I'm on all day every day during the week). Can't wait to meet you all!!
The presence of an oceanic shell is tempting me to stick around. I was originally planning to move to Masamune since Gyshal has the majority of Australian players. This may allow me to not have to say goodbye to my current shells.
I have seen a few oceanic shell in melmond, at least from the other asia game forum, was how i felt ok to come and try too. :P. In addition, a couple of shell member from my fabul shell know some HK, Aus and such people, along with me knowing there be singapore and My players here too. Decided to come Aegis with the bunch of us. Looking forward to meet the wide range of timezone people too not just oceanic, going be fun :D
My friends and I are coming to Aegis for something new and also to gather on 1 server. Some of us were on different servers because they were full at launch and none of us wanted to reroll later on.
I will be, and looking for a new L.S. Very loose and not over obsessed. G.M.T .
Being from Melmond, I would say time zones are pretty evenly-spaced. My linkshell has people from NA, EU, and JP. I see a lot of people on/shouting during NA primetime (when I'm one), although more people may be shouting during primetimes not in my time zone. Because a lot of people fell inactive BEFORE the most recent patch, there wasn't much activity up until a few days ago. Now a LOT of people are out and about. It's almost like the server repopulated itself overnight.
So basically, I don't really know what to tell you. Are all these new, 'active' players going to stay active? I'm not sure... but I can tell you that no matter where you are from, you will likely be able to find someone to play with. People tend to be very friendly and I am always surprised by the level of skill and experience in pugs (compared to other MMO's).
Shouts are pretty frequent on Figaro
