A lot of people are doing it unsynced, go check the Party Finder rather than the Duty Finder. Also, there are craftable Replicas of the Gear that are also dyable (the drops from Bahamut itself are not.)
For example, I'll run Bahamut on Chaos unsync the next days to get some mats.
There's an undersize party DF option which allows you to do duties with fewer party members and no level sync. I managed to solo Final Coil T3 and T4 as a warrior yesterday so certain ones can be done without any help and it will only get easier when level cap goes up to 80 this year. I think there are still some Coil fights with mechanics that need a party, but when gear gets high enough you might be able to skip phases like that entirely with enough dps.
I tried to use Party Finder but to no avail. Still couldn't find any groups doing Bahamut. Been checking for 3 days now :/
Make your own PF, say Bahamut 1-12 Clear with Bonus (people will join for the bonus tomestones) and make use of the undersized option to enter the Raid with higher levels. Always works.
If you still need help monday evening, send me a tell in-game.
Well that's another problem. I don't know how to start a party in Party Finder, and even if i did and it filled up, i still don't know how to queue up for Bahamut raid.
I appreciate the "help" but the "Active Help" still doesn't tell me how to start the Bahamut raid once i have a full party...
I would have loved if you could have explained it instead of leading me to nothing.
If you have unlocked the raids, you will then need to go to the Duty Finder interface after gathering people into your party.
First, click on the cogwheel at the top of the window so that you can open the Duty Finder Settings. Search for the checkbox next to the “Undersized Party” option. This will allow you to queue into the raid unsynced (e.g., at your current level—which appears to be level 57, according to your Forum profile—as opposed to level 50, which is what the content was designed for).
Secondly, Find the first “Raids” tab to search for your duties. Scroll down to where you will see “Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn X”, “Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn X”, or “Final Coil of Bahamut - Turn X”. Select the Turn you want to do, and then hit the button to queue.
You have now queued into a Raid.
You queue into Coil just like you would a regular dungeon or trial. You don’t have to do anything fancy other than selecting the undersized option. Most players do not want to do Coil synced to level 50 anymore, as the jobs no longer function the way they did back when the content was relevant, and this content was meant to be the equivalent of Savage back then (so it will not be easy content to tackle at level 50).
You have to go and poke Urianger in the Waking Sands. He starts the quests and you have to be done with the Praetorium.
Piggy-backing off this and what the others have said. The first unlock quest from Urianger will give you the first tier of the raid set. This is binding coils turn 1-5. Turn 3 is an odd duck and doesnt really have loot, but the rest of them do. These are the allagan weapon and armor sets. Once you complete turn 5 youll be able to do another quest that furthers the story and unlocks the second coil of bahamut turns 1-4(turns 6-9 as the community calls them). These drop the high allagan weapon and armor sets. Finishing turn 9 allows you to further the story one more time with an unlock quest for the final coils of bahamut turn 1-4(referred to as 10-13). These 4 drop the dreadwyrm weapon and armor sets. The storyline told via the quests and the cutscenes before and after these instances are considered by many to be the "true" end to the level 50 story, and i encourage you to check them out(either later at the inn, or just tell the groups up front as they join you to run them that youll be watching - a lot of people will be happy to stay and wait while you watch in exchange for all those bonus tomes and second chance points, not to mention a shot at whatever loot may drop).
The first 4 can be solo or with 2 people. If all you want is gear you need a high level friend to take you through it.
It is amusing that 1 - 4 are no problem, and then 5. Well the difficulty suddenly spikes up.
Ooooh, I have not tried T5 solo yet! Great, thanks...now I know what I'ma doin later *Cackles in SCH* *Flexes Faerie*
I have cleared up to T7 Solo with my Warrior but always good to have at least one or 2 more with you to make things easier.
Perhaps ask around in your FC for some help. People i thought still run coil for Wonderous Tails?
I kind of want to see how far i could get on Astro some day, lol
You can also get some gear replicas from Palace of the Dead.
Or simply buy them off the marketboard / craft them, less RNG. Also, the Replicas are dyable.
