So, if were stuck in the game and if you died you died for real, would you fight Titan?
Would you even leave the main town, or would you progress and level?
Who would be the scariest, worst to fight?

I'd think that this game would be more like Konosuba to be honest. And with spells like Raise and the crafting and gathering classes I don't think anyone would be too concerned.
Well with a trial, in SAO the game had a rez spell but, then it was disabled when it went if you die you die. But, even without a Titan fall off and perma die would be rough.
Ramuh,sephirot,suzaku pretty sure
Our 1000 Kirito's in game would save us.
I still wouldnt bother with main story roulette. Thats the real thing I'd die from. Non-skip cutsenes.
Ye, I was thinking, you can only get so far in the main quest before you have to start fighting Primals. Ifrit would be scary asf.
You can't even get to foundation without beating msq. so you would be stuck with 50 gear unless you did beat all that.
Mount farming would be more fun tho.
I would be a gatherer and peddle my wares while RP'ing at the Quicksand or Lower Limso Lominsa. I would never be broke, never be without people to talk to, and never have to fight titan. My downfall would be that I fantasia quite often, so I would have to explain to everyone why I look different every month.
I would Fight Level 1 mobs till I didn't get EXP any longer. Then move onto level 2 .... and so on.
Also Titan would be easy without SAO ping. IE NO lag at all.
I see more Deaths in Raids where 24 people wipe... But that being said SAO rules IRL people would over gear before attacking anything.
I would take over Costa del Sol.
Well, there'd be way less lag or latency, in theory, so I'd be able to see the things when they're supposed to happen, meaning my death would be far less likely. Still, I'd generally avoid some "content," especially where I know other people would screw me over and kill me with their own shenanigans, though on that note I'd probably wait out the deaths of every last one of them...
So about a day; two tops.
If the game was like SAO I'd sure be a lot more cautious while outside the sanctuaries...highly likely not in one of the clearing FC's (guilds)...maybe earn a name as 'Marmot Slayer' er I can dream right?
Also, I'd prefer a situation closer to Log Horizon, where people who die without access to a rez have to wait about a week to come back, and even then with a fragment if their memories or soul eaten away. I'd gladly accept a FFXIV world like that, instead of perma-death. If PKing became a thing, however, I'd only hope people turned their ire on RMTs, and only RMTs. *shrugs*
I probably won't want to fight titan. I'll probably spend my days in the gold saucer ahahahaha!
As for something I would never fight is the coils of the bahamut 5 and great king moggle mog
I'd take over the hermit shack in outer la noscea and await the timely demise of the entire server. Once word gets out, someone will figure it's the opportune time to hit that denial of service button and we'd all be goners.
this game is sao in terms of permadeath, the only reason we as the players arent killed when we die is because we have the protection of the crystal. early on in the main quests you meet a team of npc "players" who had a party member perma die. in order to raise a player they have to be in a form of stasis that only warriors of light are permitted. without that protection you cant be raised. and while you may think that ff14 is more brutal in terms of bosses having overpowered abilities its important to note that in sao less than half the playerbase survived the game. and there were rooms where if you walked into them youd be trapped and unable to get out without beating the overpowered enemies that were specifically designed to murder you by a homicidal maniac.
pvp would be the clincher, because in ff14 you have more powers and abilities players might become drunk on their own imortality and youd have a lot more player killers than in sao, but with the playerbase being exponentially larger than sao youd also have a lot more safe areas with clans that would fight against them and protect the weaker players.
I would just contact Catian home world and head back there. Then go on nice long permanent vacation.
I would still try to adventure, though a lot more carefully than I do now (so no more "I wonder if I can kill this thing boss creature alone" shenanigans) and it would seal me as dps. I already dislike getting hit, and if there was an actual danger to it? You can forget something like tanking...and having someone die on my watch as a healer would be horrible thing to bear D: I imagine duty finder would be either completely, or almost empty as running dungeons with a group you have no idea how good they are could be seriously deadly.
On the plus side, I imagine we would have a lot higher survival odds between the holy trinity, self heals and no open world PvP.
We‘d never escape the game cause no group would pass certain raid bosses with permadeath - even if it were only permadeath on a group wipe.
Brute justice would be one of the mass murderers
Well canonically you never really lose, a wipe is just an echo vision of 'what not to do'.
Assuming I'm trapped in game with that power I'd live it up as the demi-god I am.
If this game was like SAO, tanks would never leave their tank stance, everybody would meld tenacity or vitality in all their slots, and healers would not risk a single GCD on DPS :p
Hmm, we are not just talking about permadeath, but RL death at the same time. The headset killing you.
Imagine the healer stress!
I´d become a summoner: a dps that can self heal and avoid damage. Best chances of survival without being a healer and having the lives of other people on my hands.
Even with that I´d level to 70 with easy quests and grinding before unsyncing some bosses. And even with that I´d avoid Titan or any fight that can auto kill you no matter your level. If sometimes I panic and eat AoEs while playing this game from my safety I surely would be unable to move if it was real.
If this game was like SAO we wouldn't need datacenter splits because not many people would be "playing" it anymore since they would be, you know, dead.
I would become an onion farmer and anytime I needed something I would hand out a an onion and a handful of gil to a passing adventurer, because we all know they do anything for money and a trinket.
I'm already a gatherer, so not much would change other than just being 20X more careful with the adventuring I do need to do to get access to the higher level stuff.
If this game were like SAO I wouldn't bother with it
I'd praise the Twelve that I'm not on a WoW PVP server anymore, because holy shit the massacres.
I never watched SoA, but do they ever go over the social/political ramifications of private company randomly killing citizens?
I imagine the government would have busted that in alpha/beta, lol.
iirc in the beta for SAO the game itself was pretty much a normal MMORPG (or VRMMORPG), and in it there were zones for PvP and naturally PKers showed up. When the game went 'live' and turned itself into the death game where the 10000 original players became trapped that's when things became interesting. Until the game went live there was no government interest per se (other than the VR tech iirc).
They do discuss the ramifications of PK, probably a bit on the superficial level, especially when a PK 'guild' named Laughing Coffin emerges as a threat. Actually I'm not sure how much they get into it in the anime, but I know they do examine PK in the various light novels. Hope that helps a bit.
FFXIV totally needs a skill like Enhance Armament
I would be that person that took all the loot from the boxes when nothing was looking then left them shut so others would work their way to it just to get the message "the chest is empty" >.>
Would probably be the source of a bunch of ghost stories hardly anyone would believe as well...
I'm confident in anything except trials, palace of the dead, or anywhere with bees.
As for pk, I think people would be a bit more hesitant if they knew they where actually killing people, along with the fact that if they misjudge how strong someone is, they could also themselves actually die.
Thou this question has been asked before I shall contibute: 1st take a bit to get over I am stuck as my avi & a dif gender then join a academic arceholigist guild so I can trinker with technology all day while making use of my old main class MCH & find a way to combine every class I leveled into 1
I would always fear what others would be doing to the main "Plot" thou, be it positive or negative (I can bet there would be a few ppl wanting to kidnap main-cast NPC's... or kill them early)
If this game were like SAO it would have horrible writing and too much stupidity for me to care to keep living. It's honestly one of the worst anime, to bring that into FF14 would be a nightmare. But if we're talking about being locked in the game for some stupid reason, then I would avoid primal battles since they don't give any worthwhile reward and I'm already level and gear capped. I'm not going to risk my life on possible lag with no reward.
