Well i use a PS3 controller with motionjoy drivers. I started using this since i begin playing FFXI (on 2008-09 i think). It awesome to not have wires. Some times i play on my 42" led tv with wireless keyboard. The only bad part is when you forget to charge the controller...

i have that keyboard now and i hate it.

I just use a normal keyboard and a Power A brand PS3 controller, no special drivers needed at all.

Eh that's the one I got, problem is it's cheaply made so they don't last a whole year
It's gotten to where the buttons stick, and I wasn't crazy about the shape/feel/weight of it the day I got it. I don't see why they can't make them with the same standards as the regular ps controllers, with the weird shape/feel they do use I feel like I'm buying some 5$ bootleg.

I haven't seen good controllers for the FF series since they had that really cool one for X-2 (although I'm not sure it was actually meant to be used...) The one they had for XII was better made than the snakebyte but it burned through batteries too fast, and it still didn't have a normal shape.

Hopefully when the ps3 version comes out they'll release a regular ps3 sixaxis controller but with the FFXIV graphics on it, if they sell more of the cheap ones fine but they should make top dollar ones for those of us who don't mind paying for it.

I have a normal shitty keyboard and a normal shitty IR mouse. Wired, the lot of them. I play just fine.

Care to share why? It's built like a tank, and the software is pretty nice if not slightly difficult to get used to. The layout of the extra buttons is fantastic. I especially like the fact that some of the extra keys are raised or shaped differently so that they are easy to find without looking. The backlit keys are nice too, I can change their backlight color, allowing me to see them more easily when I'm using my 3D glasses. I honestly don't see a downside, but maybe you can enlighten me.

i don't like how the keys on the side are mapped t the standard keys and cant be remapped. ive had it for 1.5 years and some of the keys are sticking giving me more typos then normal. I was really hoping to just be able to macro some of the keys but they are mapped to the other keys.

i got my moneys worth outta it so now im looking for a new one.

what do you mean? you can remap all of them except some of the windows function keys and the esc key if you want to.

Ok, I follow you now, Syntax. I have never actually tried to remap those since they are perfect for ffxiv as is. You can remap all of the other extra keys, so now you've got me wanting to try the number keys as well. Damn it, 4:00pm can't come fast enough now.

I opted for he merc over the G15 because the extra keys on the G15 aren't as ergonomic, and there are more of them on the merc.

I saw it, considered buying at as a collectors item but decided against it, plus I have a Naos 5000 - as far as I'm concerned it's the best mouse available, for me at least.

Keyboard wise I'm using a Razer Lycosa but I want to replace it with a Corsair K90 in the near future.

yeah just plug it right in, the only problem is if you have a game that has a "360 gamepad" option, and does not let your reconfig the buttons, it will be way WAY off.

hmmm, I'm not sure what's wrong with your keyboard but I just remaped my 1 key on the gamepad section without remapping the 1 key on the top row or numberpad. it worked perfectly.

Use a standard laptop keyboard.

For FFXIV and other 3rd persons games like for example saints row etc. Just unplug it from my PS3 which is next to my 28inch monitor. They are just the most comfortable controllers ever made.

Wow, so many shiny things in here. I just use a basic logitech controller as I have never been a WASD girl. I prefer the controller for movement. I have it customised using the inbuilt software, but I just wish it had more buttons.

Do you use it with FFXIV? How you feel it?

I'm thinking of buying one Razer Nostromo because i'll play Tera Online and it use the WASD, numbers and F numbers to use the skills. I played 2 days and my fingers were hurting because of the straying of moving while charging skill and other stuff (playing berzerker). Anyway as a mouse i have a Razer Mamba (no cables :D) it will look nice both of them on my desktop ^^.
