Weapon skins suck, zone is tiny and uninteresting compared to pagos/pyros, afaik the only reward for doing the “ultra-hard” dungeon is a mount...
All my opinions of course, but I’m rather underwhelmed.
Thoughts?

Careful, someone may report you for having a different opinion lol. Personally feels more like Pagos, which is not a good thing. Then again, only level 54 so. Still have that instance which is hopefully where the grit of this instance went.
The zone being tiny might not be a bad thing. If you think about it, there were a large number of mobs that no one touched (unless they agro'd a player and the player could fight them) occupying a large amount of space. Maybe the smaller size will also mean less "filler" mobs. It would be nice if every mob group help you in your progression.
I think I’m the most annoyed about the weapon skins. Granted I haven’t seen them fully animated, but they don’t have that fullness that I was hoping for (see: Lux).
Weapons look pretty bad is comparison to past relics imo. I'm especially disappointed by the PLD relic. Not sure how but they actually made it look worse each step along its developmental path.
I think the Healer and Caster Relics look good. I'm not really a fan of the effect, but then again I don't really care for the glowy weapons personally, they tend to detract from the design of the weapon itself, which is usually why i choose a weapon. The designs aren't bad though.
But I love my Sch relic, the wings flap!
tell me why no wings in my SMN book... i cant even tell tge difference between SCH and SMN... and what the hell did they do to PLD sword design!?
The DRG lance looks like a lobster fork. It doesn’t look imposing at all.
Wrote my thoughts on the final relic weapons in another thread I created.
Quote:
For a long, long grind as this Eureka content has been, the final stage of the weapons looks nothing of what an all-powerful weapon should look like.
What's going on with all these horrible fish-fins attached to them? Just because Hydatos ended up being the final Eureka zone it doesn't mean there has to be god-awful fish-fins attached to them.
These weapons doesn't look good, at all. They are as weak as Heavensward Awoken relic stage, or maybe Sharpened stage.
Honestly wish I could open a petition to make them model new weapons, and actually get something out of it.
I like most of them, so report me because I have a different and arguably minority opinion. (:
Yah, but apparently (I've only been doing RW so far, gotta get that monkey...) Moist Box Farm in PF has become a reality!
Keep the dream alive!
Anyone got pictures of all the Relics from Eureka? I haven't even started on them nor do I feel or want to do them like past Relics.
Weapons looks... meh. They all have the same glow making them kinda bland even the weapon design really look out of place most of the time. Katana look like it come from an end game blade from a Tales of game and the DRK is totaly the soul edge from soul calibur. As for the bow, it will be my least favourite of my relics bow. Can't say I'm disapointed, I didn't expect anything good from this piece of crap they called Eureka.
Are both new mounts from Eureka? I know one is from the new Eureka dungeon but noticed MB has a listing for the other one but no sellers yet. Hope drop rate is not horrible so it won't be too expensive to buy.
Demi-Ozma is a reward for finishing the Baldesion Arsenal dungeon in Hydatos - it's tied to an acheivement so you just pick it up from Jonathas. The Eurekan Petrel Horn is a reward from a gold bunny coffer and is tradeable on the marketboard.
I haven't seen anyone say anything about getting the items for the FFXI gear...
That's for the Eureka gear which is just the same model as the gear from Pyros but glowy. I meant the Kirin's Osode and Vermillion Cloak that are remakes of gear from FFXI. You get them for trading items to the nostalgia vendor in Kugane.
I found someone on the Eureka discord saying the items you need to get them come randomly from chests in the Baldesion Arsenal.
I'm pretty miffed how the FFXI glams I want went from easy-peasy to get in Anemos, to mildly infuriating in Pagos, and now this. :(
The size of Hydatos is perfect. I have a lot of gripes of Eureka, but the size of Hydatos is spot on, not unnecessarily big with loads of BS to do nothing but slow down progress.
I like all of the design:)
Remember when Lux came and people complained about aswell:) looked at those complainers lodestone and saw they used Lux.:)
Also i noticed that some NMs doesnt have annoying mobs around. But rather added mobs for nm to kill you.
So far I think the zone is fine. I like the aesthetics and like how it's more open than the narrow corridors and cliffs we've been stuck with in Pagos and Pyros.
The weapons skins are definitely terrible for the most part, though. I was hoping for a more subdued glow of the weapon itself instead of giant swirling lights everywhere. For the Samurai's first relic, I am definitely disappointed. Why does it need an eyeball in the hilt?
Zone is pretty easy to navigate. My friend and I opened the entire map and we were just 51 and a half. The mobs are not densely packed as they are in Pyros so even doing bunnies as a low level is pretty easy. We hit 52 yesterday after doing a full challenge log in Anemos (to get the 51 aether) and a couple NM's in Hydratos. Seems leveling to 60 is going to be pretty easy given many have already gotten there.
I liked most of the weapons from Hydatos, just the PLD that was really weird.
I know i'm probably in the minority here, I mean I do think some of the relics are... not fantastic, (I'm looking at you PLD sword)... but others I find very interesting and have a flair of Amano to them. They are VERY stylized and while not practical add something new and fresh to the same old same old. The Samurai weapon in particular reminds me of something Firion would use, and as a FF2 fan I absolutely love it. The WHM weapon and AST weapon are also very different yet somehow give me a sense of nostalgia. I do agree the Glow is ... A LOT... but then again I am a fan of the weapon design more than the particle effect in most weapons anyway.
