Will you support for a Songstress Healer Job for 6.0 expansion?

Song Magic for Healing skill is a interesting concept despite the possible FFX-2 Jokes that may come from it.

Given FFXIV track record I doubt a new healer will appear in 6.0

I like the idea, though I'm still hoping dancer comes out as our healer class I wouldn't mind a songstress job class to be the alternative. :)

When you said Songstress, I was thinking of the ones from the Ar Tonelico series. They would sing to either deal damage or support/heal the party, ok granted that's not FF but I still thought it was kinda cool anyway to have Song Magic like that.

I'll be willing to support a Songstress, I can see interesting ideas coming from it, but more as a fusion with Dancer instead of feeling like Bard but as a healer in terms of aesthetics and feels.

New healer would be nice, and dancer would be nice, but a Songstress/Songster job from the sound of it seems like it'd be cutting pretty close to BRD flavor. A decent amount of BRDs (me included) wish that the class had more actual BRD flavor than just shooting arrows everywhere, so it'd feel kind of bad to see another class actually get the musical flavor our job's supposed to be based around.

Remember when BRD had access to the healer LB?

job name needs some work since it's not gender neutral, but perhaps "Idol" ...

I wouldn't mind, but I think a lot of songstress abilities could easily be applied to Bard (a job we already have) or Dancer (a job that's in much greater demand from fans), so I don't think it's a likely addition. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some songstress-themed glamours for Dancer though.

After all if they can give a bunch of Jobs different types of swords for different methods of fighting styles (PLD, DRK, RDM, SAM, and other future Jobs) they can get a bit more creative and add Jobs that use things like Song Magic in different ways similar to how Red Mage, lore wise, took concept from both Black Mage and White Mage into their fighting styles.

They can also use Songstress Job storyline as a continuation of the Song Bird's storyline as well considering they hinted on ending the Song Bird's storyline for events last year thus making the SongBirds (and WoL) to be Eorzea's first Songstress Job users.

I've kind of hoped for a while that we get Songstress using chants, sort of similar to in FF-X2, especially if they could make it a hybrid with Dancer.

I'd be okay with this only if as the fight goes on we slowly get naked to "empower" our healing spells. :P

Me and one of my friends actually got theorycrafting about this, but not called songstress, more performer. I think irecall them saying that now every main city has a tank, so it got us thinking , not every main city has a healer, ul dah doesent have one. Uldah is home to two things, dancers and singers (keep an eye out for the little ladies event for possible hint drops?). We was thinking maybe it sung for heals, and danced for buffs. Its weapon a microphone. Plus preformers have been in other square enix games to (bravely default), so we diddent think it would be to far. It could have 2 stances like ast, singer stance and dancer stance. Singer stance empowers your healing, dancer empowers your buffs somehow (longer duration, adds another effect?)

All I can think of when you say Performer is Bravely Second with Praline a la Mode. Love in the Crossfire indeed. :P

Would definitely risk stepping on Bard toes, however.

With its similarity to dancer, I'd hope SE would go in a more unique direction for the 5th healer.

Arguably, we have two 'basic' signature healings: shield (proactive) for SCH and regen (reactive) for WHM (AST has both). It would be refreshing if we have a third basic unique healing for the new healer instead of reusing shield and regen or the combo of both. Here are some ideas: heal by dps, heal by singing buff, mends/wards (proactive), meele healing with combo points, buff/debuff... mmm any more ideas?

It would be nice to introduce a Buffer Healer Job.

Another type of Healer can be a Debuffer Healer Job which not only applies Heals but enemies near the person the Healer heals gets a debuff that makes their attack weaker or defense weaker which would fit Chemist Healer Job well.

Depends on Dancer and Songstress is utilized with their magic.

Dance Magic is cast by the movement of the body without the need for any words.

Song Magic requires the use of words into a type of song to reflect the use of the Magic and does not require any body movement.

Not remotely. I'd rather just actually see some diversity within each Role and let Bards do a bit more Bard-like things, rather than being a reshade of Ranger.

Unfortunately, between Bard currently holding the "musician" theme and whatever the next healer job would be associated with what I think were DDR icons on the stage floor during the Paris Fanfest keynote, I doubt we'd ever get another job based around music after Shadowbringers. I remember making a concept for it for someone during Heavensward and being proud of the fact that I had all of the spells as Italian musical terms, but at the end of the day, it would still need a way to differentiate itself from Bard in terms of lore, and it really can't do that without some ludicrous reason.

In short, enjoy Dancer since that'll be as close as it'll ever get.
