Gunbreaker Tank Mount

I asked this in another tread of mine but it doesn't really go there. What do think the tank mount for Gunbreaker will be? I'm hoping for a mini version of the Ragnarok airship from FF8. Maybe as kind of a hover bike sort of deal?

Oooh, I was gonna suggest some kind of magitek lion-type creature, but now I want the Ragnarok!

Just had to google what that ship was since this is my first FF game. I am so here for that mount!

A ceruleum tiger would be pretty neat. Regula van Hydrus conjured one from his gunblade.

I hope it's something magitek. Given that it's a magitek job, it would be weird to have it paired up with an animal. The question is, whose magitek is Gunbreaker's stuff based on? Garlean? Allagan? Ironworks? Goblins? An independent inventor?

I don't know how you could make the Ragnarok into a mount... Aside from just having a miniature Ragnarok and the character sitting on top of it, but that'd just be silly.


A Ragnarok themed mount would be more possible though.

Pretty sure Gunblades in FFXIV are Garlean, but the Gunbreaker class is probably tied to Cid's Garlond Ironworks in terms of story...

Something mechanical would be great. Most of the mechanical things are locked behind pvp and a couple through old savage raids. I wasn't interested in the lumpy lion or spaghetti bear for the other tanks, but I would definitely play the new tank if the mount is mechanical.

While the Garleans do have Gunblades they stated during the Fanfest that Gunbreakers are NOT based on the Garlean gunblades, but rather the FF8 gunblades. So I'd guess it is likely something quite similar to Machinist where someone (possibly the Ironworks) combines Eorzea's magic levels with Garelan Tech.

As far as the tank mount I'd totally be down with getting Ragnarok as the mount for Gunbreaker.

Would be do-able...if you think about it, the back is really similar to it, wings/thrusters are almost in the same position, cockpit and nose too...aaaaah, wishful thinking!

All the current tank mounts are inspired by mammals which are apex predators: lion, bear and leopard. Maybe the next one will be a Direwolf recolor.

Maybe a lion themed after Griever?

I bet Gunbreaker is the result of trying to reverse engineer Garlean tech using Eorzean means and methodologies.

For a potential Tankless Job mount, I figure it could be a vehicle, perhaps also from FFVIII, since that's what this Gunbreaker is modeled after.
I saw someone say something about the Ragnarok Airship, but I think a 1-seater car is more likely.

Griever looks more like Diabolos than a PLD lion. I can definitely envision how they'd refit his design into a mount.

I had forgotten all about Griever >< I would prefer him as a primal fight tho. But if we get a mount somewhat based off of him then i'm all for that as well.

How about a Toyota Camry that transforms into an F-14 (cuz ff14) Tomcat that has gunblade missiles to maintain aesthetic integrity.

If it plays Danger Zone in F-14 mode I'm sold.

While I recognize that Gunbreaker might not necessarily have anything to do with Garlemald lore-wise, something like the Garlean canis pugnax could be very cool. In place of the second 'armored' tank mount, maybe a fully mechanical magitek version?

I'm thinking something more along the lines of traditional steampunk.

Then again, that's going on the wager that Gunbreaker is not of Garlean origin, which I'm almost positive of at this point given 1) Garleans don't traditionally use gunblades that large (what gun weapon outliers we see in the story were considered developmental prototypes) and 2) the job's AF gear doesn't even look close to Garlean and looks more like the garb of a resistance fighter because 3) the very name of the job implies someone trained to fight against gun users like Garleans.

How about that enemy Thancred goes up against in the trailer? hehe

You know, I've always wanted a smaller ultima weapon as a mount. I think I'd actually go farm this mount before I did the MSQ if it was Gunbreaker tank mount.

OMG these would be awesome. An armored and unarmored variant. Something new and cool that also fits the theme of the other three tank mounts.

Also I want a minion version of these things, SE hurry up and add them.

I'm just gonna be real. I'll probably only ever use the Regalia and SDS Fenrir.

I completely agree with you Reinha. Giving this new tank a non beast mech would be unbalanced. Your the third person to suggest a wolf of sorts. I hope you're right ^_^
