TP/MP Reworked Confirmed !

So, I've seen that they have announce the rework of the MP/TP ressource but something seems pretty unclear to me...

If they remove the TP and switch it on MP alone then every classes will be reworked for that, but let's take a closer look.

DRK will be only based on MP, so the MP stop from darkside will vanish ?
The Tower from AST no longer give TP, what buff do you think they'll get ?
3 Cross role will not work anymore, What will happen to it (don't have the name in english)
Many classes can be affected by that like Bard, Red mage (on burst), Paladin and Dark Knight. (If i'm not mistaken the other classes don't use two ressources)

I guess the Tower will give some extra defensive buff like a Max HP% or something... OR completely reworked and Tower become an other name, with a another dps buff, like Direct Hit.

The cross role will probably be reworked as MP tool at least for two of them. But not the TP song. TP song will probably be replace by something completely different.

And you, what do you think of it ?

I'm not sure why you thought it was just a rumor as they said this would happen at the NA fan fest. They always do a recap from the previous fan fest(s) before giving out newer info. Though it still looks like they still won't say what or how this will effect things. Waiting for March to find out the changes to the battle system is going to suck a lot.

I've seen it suggested that basic weaponskills just wont have any cost associated. Their TP cost is already inconsequential as it pretty much matches the TP regen.
Then it's just AoE weaponskills that will cost, MP instead of TP.

In this case, DRK and PLD are fine.
RDM is fine except for its AoE burst weaponskill, which could be an issue with MP management, so a bit of adjustment there maybe.
BRDs main worry would be Foes Requiem draining all their MP, preventing them from using their AoE skill.

Goad and Tactician will likely just be removed entirely, they've already said they're reworking role skills anyway, it might be drastic enough that the removal of those two skills will pale in conparison.

This was already confirmed 3 months ago

They'll just balance the classes that use both to use less MP.

Tactician, sure, since it'd be made redundant. Goad would still serve the same general purpose, without any real overlap on existing skills for those that get it, so I don't see that one going.

If MP/TP will be brought into a single value, maybe Bard/Mch will FINALLY get the ability to have knockback prevention with whichever of the two skills (For their MP and TP recovery) gets removed.

Er... no.
Most jobs AoE rotation is just spamming their one AoE attack.

Just have HP and AP (action points).

Make AP global.

Balance correspondingly, done. The real bar management should be job Gauges. I think it's gonna go like that. Repurpose TP/MP mechanics to work with job gauges/support in other forms, done.
