The first level cap increase will happen in "the patch after 5.0".
We would like to provide information regarding the increased experience points obtained for your companion than normal, while setting the limited job to blue mage.
Blue mage is a limited job where one must first witness the enemy perform a specific attack in order to “learn” and mimic these actions while also gaining high experience points after defeating these monsters. With this, we have also taken into consideration that players who may not have been actively using their companions may now have an increased opportunity to frequent them. As a result, we have also increased the gained experience points for the companion while setting the limited job as blue mage.
However, as we have currently confirmed the situation, a lot more players than anticipated have been leveling along with their companions, which may affect the overall game balance. As a result, we will be scheduling a Hotfix next week on Jan. 24, in order to implement adjustments.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience in adjustments being implemented after the release, and we thank you for your understanding.
I play no way near a hardcore amount of ffxiv, but im nearly out of things to do, nearly got all the skills, and the carnival difficulty is a joke. We need some more stuff or a DF unlock
Yeah I feel like the job would have taken longer and had more things to do if it was just a regular job. Even if capped at 50.
See if you can get some party finders up for doing all or mostly blue mage parties for old content. Might prove entertaining. It's something I potentially planning to do once mine is 50. I never got all my ponies back in the day and it'd be interesting to not rely on high level jobs undersizing it. Titan Ex was my favourite back in the day, so I might end up trying to build a party for that. Technically there's loads to do, I guess it's getting people to do it, but there's a party finder available if you don't have the people for it. You never know, you might find people who don't mind a nostalgia trip through old content synced to level 50 or people who joined later who haven't done older content or have only undersized them.
I think what would be useful is a "Limited Job Roulette" or a few different ones as I think we are so used to relying on the duty finder, so you could have 50, trial and raid Limited Job roulettes, give rewards for higher level content for the added incentive. Whilst it's just Blue Mages, it could be interesting to relive older content from a different angle, helps give it life where being "OP" doesn't matter if it's what everybody going in expecting anyway, especially on content that can be undersized.
It could be an opportunity for SE to actually breathe life back into older content but still be beneficial when your mains are level capped.
24h just for the lvls is still a bit for people who had an ordinary week with 8 hours of work if u just play 2-3 hours a day. And than u got no skills at all and u havent put your hand on the Arena as well what will take some more „24hs“ to complete.
I have an ordinary job as an electrician and care for an elderly grandparent with dementia, I still effortlessly got to lvl 50 in no time. And no, I'm not grinding for ages to maybe not even get the skill, I have more rewarding things to do with my time.
EDIT: Figure I should share what I did, formed a party with other BLU's and massacred enemies in a reasonable level range with them, pretty fast stuff.
exploit or not
unless you are specifically pacing yourself
the job takes like 2 days to level
jobs really not about the leveling though Its like 10% of the job
60% farming spells and 30% using combos and such in carnival
I dind't use any exploit...do this solo( it is suppose to be a "solo" job, right?).
Level 50 with 26 skills in 10 hours.
I doubt u did that solo without lvl boost. cause you can't spam needle effectively alone and need at least lvl 38 for an alternativ dmg skill - so how did you solo without real dmg skills that fast? anyway don't want to argue, just not believable for me ^^
yeah and therefor another 24h shouldn't be enough. in general I don't understand the progession-discussion at all... with some preparation you can lvl boost a crafter from 1-50 in less than a day as well, deciple of wars are even just 1-mog station button away till lvl 50+ so whats the deal? But both isn't fun as well. So why hardcore grind Blu with or without exploit instead enjoying the ride?...
btw Seiryu Ex was cleared roughly 30 mins after release are we going to flame se for that as well? to easy? to boring? don't think so...
needles still 2-3 shots lvl 41-49 enemies
don't NEED a alternate damaging spell you can needles just fine to 50,
you even get quick cast at lvl 32 to help
and if chocobos out its doing decent damage over all while you are charging up needles,
throw out a bad breath after every needles and every normal enemy in the over world is just your pin cushion
I leveled to 50 with my rank 20 chocobo, and had all the spells you could obtain outside of dungeons or trials in about 10 hours(8 if you include the two separate hour breaks I took)
I then unlocked blue carnival and went to stage 25 to see it. Then beat it because blue carnival is kind of a joke.
Sure itd take a bit longer to get all the spells. I then spent another hour or so doing the rest of the carnival, and yeah. I'd say about 10 hours of content.
And I didn't even know of the job change glitch until the late crowd of blue mages were using it to catch up for some reason.
Lol. I got to 50 in about 14 Greens, so 7 hours with about 40 minutes left on the last batch.
47-50 I paired with one other blue mage because classploiters were running the zone. The two of us kept our little corner on lock down and it took about 25 minutes to push those last 3 levels.
Believe it or not, it's true!!!
You don't need to be in group or anything...found a place with 5/6 mobs, stun/sleep/ paralysis on them, and mix 1k needles/Bad breath/Plaincracker. With the chocobo for healing...you got tons of XP.
Plus, there's many way to increase the XP gain...grand company boost, nooby ring, ala mighan earring and foods.
I found a good grinding spot where I could burn down mobs of 5-8 enemies using Ram's/Dragon's Voice.
Was able to go from 45-50 in less then a hour that way.
