What I would like to see in 5.0

Various changes, fixes and what not that I have compiled over the past several weeks that I would like to see in 5.0.

What I would like to see in 5.0

UI Updates:
- The network display that currently shows sending/receiving values also show a ping in milliseconds (ms)
- Friends list log in/out notifications.
- Log in/out notifications while in dungeons (aka Another World)
- See friends list, FC info & Linkshells while in dungeons (aka Another World)
- Send tells to people in/out of dungeons (aka Another World)
- The ability to auto hide hotbars when not in combat.
- Lock the chat window(s) to prevent moving.
- The ability to right click someone and select "Report for cheating/harassing" and have it open the report dialog and have it auto-fill in the form with the world name, zone, date/time and character name.
- A way to link class/job abilities to chat.
- A way to link achievements to chat.
- A way to link quest to chat.
- Link more than 1 item to the same chat line at a time.
- Allow more than 5 quest in the quest tracker. 10 would be nice.
- Allow tracking of challenge logs in quest tracker.
- Allow tracking of achievements with a progress in quest tracker.
- For Beast Tribe vendors, have them show everything they sell but don't allow buying of items if reputation hasn't been reached yet. This would allow people to see what they can buy later on once they reached reputation.
- (CRAFTING) Overall update to the crafting dialog. I would like to see a tree structure view on crafting items. Clicking lumber expands out a tree showing what's needed to make that lumber and so on. A system similar to garlandtools.org would even be nice. (Ex: https://www.garlandtools.org/db/#item/22538)
- (CRAFTING) An option to only show all items you currently have the mats to craft in your inventory.
- (CRAFTING) Clicking on the "NQ" or "HQ" above the materials selection will instantly select all those items.

Improved/Fixed items:
- Macros fixed so they aren't so buggy. The mouse over feature for one doesn't always work. I would say 1/10 times it will cast on me and not the person my mouse point is hovering over in the party list.

In Game improvements:
- ALLOW SENDING MAIL TO FC MEMBERS without adding them to your friends list!!!! I can't believe this isn't already an option.
- Place important NPC on a raised platform that players can't get on. Examples are the NPC you talk to to enter Eureka and Drake in Pyros. People pile up on these NPC to the point you can't even see or click on them.
- In large populated areas like cities, add a client side option to hide users that are AFK. This would not hide FC and people on your friends list though.
- REPORTING RMT should add the person to a temporary ignore list that gets cleared upon logging out.

General QoL Improvements:
- If you buy an item from a vendor then you can sell it back for a full refund within 30 minutes of buying it. The game is getting bloated with "Use currency X to buy another currency Y that you then use to buy item Z". This addition could help those that oopsed and bought the wrong item.
- Updated Launcher! It's time to bring the launched up to current times. Every game I play has a far superior launcher. The primary feature I would like to see is one where I don't have to enter my password and one time pass every single time. Allow it to remember me!

What needs to stop
- Cash shop items from previous years seasonal events. I have friends I got into the game that enjoy it but when it comes to seasonal events they love some of the old items but just cringe at the fact you can ONLY get them on the cash shop. People are paying a monthly subscription and shouldn't have to pay cash for items that were in the game. Keep these items in the game and able to buy on the season vendors just like the newly added items.

hmmm i can pretty much say that none of these will be happening in this game anytime soon. pie in the sky wishing.

- Absolutely not. The "magic" of beast tribe ranks is that as long as you rank up, you discover the new stuff. No fun to see everything at once.

- Moogle Mail should let send mails to everyone, probably with a "player search" kind of tool.
- 1) Everyone will stand in that platform or 2) It's gonna be so high our characters will break their necks.
- Hmmm... not sure about hiding AFK people.
- Reported people should stay in that list.

- Put some effort.
- I'd love a revamped launcher.

- Mogstation will never disappear.

Many many maaannnyy of these things but that most of all, it annyoes me to no end, its my fixed client on my pc. at least give me the option to stay logged in the client, as long as i dont swich machine or location.

And then they'll have the people angry at them that spend a good bit in the cash shop for season items. I know a few people at the very least in the FC I'm in that enjoy buying extra, since they usually don't buy enough of the items when they were available in game. Plus you can still get the items from other people who have them by sharing estate settings for a time to get the item(s) in question.

It's a way for SE to get extra money, and it's not written anywhere that they have to give all the previous year's event items in the next year's event. Some items they let people get still, but like I said a lot of people can trade items to you by giving them temp estate settings. Buying them in the cash shop is purely optional

But at least the ones of the last year should be there, that would be nice.

also the point of having a one time password is for 2 factor authentication. having it enabled you would still need to enter it everytime.

Also consider that the launcher needs to be accessible to players on console, hence why it goes through a simple browser web page. There would be no logical cost to have a seperate app just for one game nor would Sony see any reason allow it, so i doubt we'll ever get Blizzard Launcher style treatment any time soon.

I kinda agree with the Remember Me option for logging in though, but again might be difficult to implement cause of the above.

I strongly disagree with this. I paid my subscription to get said items, then someone can come in 3-4 years later and have everything I've had to pay 5 years worth of subscriptions to gain for free? No thank you. If you want it, buy it, if you want it and arent willing to pay, you dont want it bad enough.

This already exists, its the auto-translation dictionary. Press tab after typing out a line like "Rage" and then hit tab and changes it to auto translation. Otherwise you're asking for them to add achievements and quests to a pop up display menu, which currently doesnt even exist and would likely take up a lot of resources as there are ... insane amounts of quests, and quite a bit of achievements as well.

System Configuration > Other Settings > "Display Limits" > Character and Object Quantity - (then adjust to "low" or "minimum" whichever setting you prefer.)

I'd like to see lodestone updated to show when a person has last logged on. We can see the rest of their stats, so why not this?

That work around doesn't work if the item in question is a clothing item as opposed to a furnishing, though.

My thoughts, it would be nice if someone decides to create a new character to at least have characters on the same account able to purchase seasonal items from the calamity salvager. I started a new character after being gone for over a year and was disappointed to see that none of the items I had earned in seasonal events could be acquired on the new one except to purchase them for real money, and even then some weren't available on the Mogstation at all, such as the crossover event items from Dragon Quest.

That said, I do think that letting people purchase old seasonal items for gil during the times of year when the events re-run is fair so that everyone can have access to the same items, and one-time events could be limited to the cash shop for people who didn't play them when it was in the game, and available for alts from the salvager.

I'd like to be able to place the HP and MP bar seperately on the HUD.
Having the HP bar increase the more of it you have would be nice too but I can understand why they don't do it lol

Warriors HP bar would look like a Kingdom Hearts boss with a crap ton of extra bars under it.

Fix shields.

If SCH crit adlo and spread it, he cannot over write it even after the party takes damage. He can only replace it with another bigger value.
Example, SCH casts 10k crit adlo --> Party takes 7k Damage --> shield has 3k left. SCH cannot over write the previous 10k (Now 3k shield) with 6k shield. This should be fixed.

Let us see the value of our shields and how much left of them after taking damage.

They're bringing this for 5.0. Visual representation on HP bar of shielding amount.

Minimum ilvl roulette.
Give it a large reward and have it contain any kind of content prelevel 70 including alex,coil,and all the primal ex's,hards and ultimas bane.

Just disable name tags of people that are not your friends/team. Then you just click on the NPC's name and that's it.

Putting minimum item levels on leveling dungeons. Nothing terribly high, but I think this needs to be done because it’s unacceptable to see players queue into HW or SB leveling dungeons wearing gear from ARR.

I agree with all those UI changes. I'd also like to see the mount and minion tab updated, a far more user-friendly retainer and MB interface, the ability to do more things while mounted or having a window/npc open, as well as a "you already own this item" line on mounts/music/minions and cards you've already learned. Probably a good few more to add too.

What baffles me is when someone posts suggestions like these and people instantly hop in with "won't happen" and "unnecessary, don't need it". If I was a developer and saw feedback like that, of course I wouldn't think of bothering to make UI updates any sort of priority. Part of the community are experts at shooting themselves in the foot. Meanwhile new players are joining the game and getting a terrible first impression from how outdated so many elements are. I know I did when I started playing.

the people saying those things - they've followed the game for years and have listened to how the devs answer questions like this from Q&A's in different events. many of these things have been asked in one form or another already. we know the answers and the answer is that it's not possible with how the game is coded currently. simple as that.

I really hope 5.0 increases the item limit in large houses because 400 isn't enough. I've actually had to wall off a large room because the item limit prevents me from turning it into anything.

Auto-translate doesnt actually have a majority of those things in it (I checked with my open quests, none are there, and they're all repeatable daily/weekly ones).

The functionality to see the tooltips in a chat link (tooltips for every item and abilities exist in game on hover already) should be there, and should reflect the ACTUAL stats of the items.

These link just text. I want to be able to mouse over the ability/achievement/quest and see a tooltip for that item. You know, just how you link items.

I know about this. I don't want to lower the quality of EVERYTHING in EVERY ZONE. I want to be rid of all the people that afk around NPC's like the Eureka NPC for example.

Like to see no scion's in it at all and not have it where forces you play as a npc in a fight. Also like to see hd package added to it for better graphics.

Both of them :-)

I have full trust in Soken to make great music for Shadowbringers actually. He did a great work for Heavensward and Stormblood, there's no reason to stop.

If I can go as unpopular as can be, I actually wish we can get a 5.0 theme song without Uematsu and Calloway. I'm not a big fan of Answers, Dragonsong and Revolutions.
