Right after they nerf elezen necks.
They're not human... they're going to look different, and different will invariably look 'weird' because of the uncanny valley effect.
That said, Elezens could look 'better' but not every 'quirk' needs 'fixing'.
Not before they fix the Male Miqo’te tail.
Not seeing it. Female Au Ra heads actually seem a little on the big side, but still within normal human proportions.
small, disproportionate when confronted to... what? They are a race itself.
Female au ra look completely fine to me. It is the elezen that have a proportion issue. :(
Au Ra head is fine in proportion to their petite body. Elezen have a long neck and a small head.
4.5 cannot come soon enough.
Stock response incoming...
If you don't like xxx, don't play the race.
There are other options to choose from which cater to your realistic(ish) human proportions.
Man I misread this thread so hard, thought it was "Healers need balancing". Was curious to hear how healing was too OP for this game.
Only thing female Auras need fixed are their faces.
Fantasy race doesn't conform to real life human proportions (which are surprisingly varied themselves if you're actually being observant), news at 11!
The races have the proportions the devs designed them to have, that ain't gonna change (unless it's a case of a pose or such causing a character model to clearly bend/extend beyond what it's supposed to, as evidenced by the response to one of the Q&A questions at Fanfest).
Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen a game that wasn't in an active development pre-release phase and/or actively seeking feedback on character models ever go and change how characters look based on random players complaining that they didn't like one race or another, so how threads like this continue to be a thing is honestly confounding.
I’d rather have them add actual hair physics.
This too, though.Quote:
On the head note... I wish Roe's had bigger heads. They have this massive body with a small pea for a head.
Ehh.. I doubt they intentionally made the head small. They just added the head to a modified Mi'qote body.
Au'ra males have proportionate body to head and other races too, except for the Elezen. If you are ok with having disproportionate bodies, then that's you. But I see faults in things, and this is one of those.
There's a difference in seeing a design and not liking it, and having the arrogance to think that your preference is somehow an objective fault.
Guess where you fall right now?
Consider this as well - Elezen have had their proportions since 1.0, so over 8 years at this point (you can see for yourself by running the 1.0 benchmark, which is surprisingly still available as a download from nvidia, though it takes a google search or knowledge of the URL to find). The race that the Elezen were based on, the Elvaan from XI, are also lankier and "disproportionate" by human standards, and have been that way for almost 17 years now.
Fine by me if you want to see "faults in things" but if you're trying to suggest that the devs somehow screwed up when making the Elezen (and they, after all, have the final call)? You're on naught but a fool's errand.
I can't see an issue with the female Au Ra proportions at all. Comparing it to a full length photo of an actual person, the proportions seem to match quite closely.
I think Elezen seem to have "small heads" because they have proportionately tall, 'stretched' bodies with the same sized heads as the human-proportioned races.
