So what's the deal with all the purple mobs?

Might just be on Lindblum, but there are lots of unclaimed mobs everywhere with purple names. They just stand there, completely still. I've seen it in La Noscea, Black Shroud and Thanalan. It's been like this for about a week now.

Should I report it as a bug, or maybe there's some hidden meaning behind it?

They are levequest mobs I am pretty sure.
However....They don't go away it would seem.

I am pretty sure Mug would know the difference between these mobs and leve mobs.. post a picture Mug so we can all see what ya mean :P

Generally lag or the players who had em claimed just simply isn't loading for you. Leve mobs (and regular mobs) spawn purple (claimed) but they turn yellow (or white) after they spawn so chances are you're experiencing S/R issues.

There is currently some bug(s) that is leaving residual GC Leve mobs and NPCs around after the Leve. I haven't seen them triggered from my leves, and i am not sure what the trigger is, but it seems once the mobs are "stuck" they don't go away until a server reboot is triggered.

Hmmm.. I haven't seen anything like that.. Maybe Mug is just having S/R probs like Ele said.. post a pic of the mob so we can tell if its a levequest or something new :)

I think this might be the case, because they're not normal levemobs. It's definitely not just me, because everytime I've been with other people, they've seen the same thing.

It could be bug, someone reported that on the French support forum couple of weeks ago. GM responded. I'd make a thread on the technical support if I were you.

I have see them in Mysidia near camp Halatali and in the mine north of Black Brush

I have seen this to.

I've seen this on Rabanastre as well. Things like Mesa piestes and storm and flame scouts.
I've caused one of these with a storm scout. You'll complete a GC leve and then any left over mobs or the scouts won't deres.
There were like for or five instances of this around bald knoll about three weeks ago, but just last night I counted about 20 each at most of the lvl 40 GC leve camps

I've seen a fair few of these too, typically around Grids camps.

I've seen this several times in the Treespeak area.

Someone else also made a thread about it a month or so ago I believe.

Its GC Related. Mobs and NPC's are not clearing out properly after completion of a GC leve. its a known bug.

There was another scout down in the gully and a glitched out raptor just over the hill.

It's common in Bald Knoll. Right now we have a scout, an alchemist and like 6 mobs standing...something is triggering NPCs and mobs from company leves to not depop.

I already reported this bug a while ago but seems they didn't care much about it.

They want to be epic.

Gath's 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil.

Yup leve quest mobs are glitching.

Been happening on my server as well. kinda funny.

I'll confirm for Treespeak area npcs/mobs on Mysidia. I've got screens at home somewhere too.

Yeah, mining in Halatali I see a purple diremite and bomb near the node, then a Peiste to the north west of that same node. They've been there for a week now. LOL
