I know this say Dec 2018, but i'm curious how accurate it "really" is. Any know if this is a trusted representation of the game today as far as class breakdowns/races/etc?

One would assume that it's as accurate as a 3rd party can get just by scanning the lodestone. It's probably as good as you're gonna get. The only way to verify how accurate it "really" is would require something to compare it to, sooooo... take the results with a grain of salt, I guess.
I don't understand what the "class distribution" section is expressing though. Is it the classes that a character has unlocked (this is what it seems to be, but why would anyone care about this)? The classes that a character has leveled to a certain level (if so, what level)? The class that a character happens to be displayed on (a rather pointless metric)?
Woah, i had no idea the server distributions were THAT bad. I thought maybe the higher pop servers would have around twice the lower pop ones.
This herd mentality really is an issue, i hope the world visit thing brings some balance.
I don't think you know what herd mentality is. A place being more populated is a naturally occurring thing.
And that's not how the server distribution really is. It's likely they haven't finished compiling the data for the month. November seems to be incomplete, but October is more accurate.
Lol we are such a tiny server love it.
I'm not convinced it reflects actual play time. I see Red Mages everywhere, all the time. There's no way they are one of the least played jobs according to those numbers.
I've literally never heard anyone say "everyone should join [server] because that's where everyone is'. I've heard "hey I'm gonna join [server] because that's where my friend is" or "I heard there's a good raiding FC on [server] so maybe I'll go there". Don't be dramatic.
Fairly certain that site is not accurate. A lot of the numbers listed are way off, in my opinion.
Honestly before the cross world party finder was introduced, Balmung was very popular and not solely because of being RP orientated but because it was easy to find more people to do things with (and a few other worlds too). I knew several people that moved to there for that reason, but didn't mind leaving after more cross world stuff was added. Sure we might have friends on other worlds, but unless you have no commitment on your current world like a house, then very few people would move just for that sole reason alone and raiding can be PF'd anyway static or none.

Data from October. You're arguing against a point that doesn't exist.
Yeah according to that census there were 0 active players in this game in November... and the number of character that have the Yol mount in December is about 40 times LESS than it was in October...
The December stats suggest a game less popular than Wildstar when that was shut down...
The October stats suggest a game that in NA likely rivals WoW (most of WoW's players are in China).
If the December stats were at all accurate this game would be so dead, we'd be seeing layoffs and loot boxes for sale on the cash shop, and they'd have already shutdown the EU servers and merged all the others...
In other words, that website is seriously incorrect. The fact that November is blank suggests this isn't a problem with not yet done processing data, but with the method it uses to scan lodestone no longer working properly.
Umm what the majority of WoWs pop is in the NA/EU regions, China doesn't even have half the pop of ether NA or EU let alone both combined. You know how many non EU/NA guilds are in the top 250?...5. Do you know how many characters there are between EU/NA? 46 million.
Then you have WoW being banned a few times in China through 2008 to now and had to be remade for Chinas censorship laws and now recently it's most likely gonna be banned again along side with Diablo and Overwatch.
As for the data for FF14 ARR, I can already tell you that it's seriously wrong. Just going by Steamcharts the steam version of the game already has a vast difference than the data shown https://steamcharts.com/app/39210#1y and thats not even inc the none steam version which should have more...like a lot more.
Do you have a source for this? The recently announced Diablo Immortal is being funded by a Chinese company, and Overwatch is making strides in the eSports market with several Chinese teams coming for the new season. No company in these times would want to be banned from one of the biggest markets in the world, probably only politics could really influence this.
