New Character in the Ivalice Alliance Raid?

Looks like Viera have got their high heels afterall.

So we are getting tall viera?

I mean, because there was no way they'd have the iconic Bangaa quartet from XII and not have the iconic Viera from the same game make an appearance as well?


Not sure why this surprises some people.

I've never played any other FF I'm just interested if this means the Viera we get look like that. I'm a fantasia addict.

Most likely as they did say that was a sneak peak to the new race. People are surprised because SE hasn't been nice in the past with jokes when it comes to the Viera. That and they did go with the tactics version of the Nu muh.

I'm looking forward to Elezen with bunny ears.

Nice! I wonder if Viera organically heeled feet will fit into the regular shoes. Obvisously there are many already heeled shoes that will work just fine.

It would be nice if they at least still give the feet claws, even if they don't walk on their toes.

Everyone's hyped over Viera being teased and i'm just here geeking out in the corner over the roe paladin in the Ivalice segment wearing the armour of final fantasy's best paladin.

I have a feeling that Viera will not have organically heeled feet. I think in this case its just a shoe that does that.

Square Enix is going to have to have to model every single foot piece in a heel shape, and I know they do not want to do it. I have a feeling that Viera heels will look like normal feet outside of Viera exclusive racial gear, and heels already within the game. At the very least the toes might be slightly resemblant to the XII viera.

I don't know I'm not into those White Haired Rabbits, got to watch out for those Rabbits as the old Trix commercial said, "Tricks aren't for kids." For me, I'll stick with Elezen and not venture into that Viera. Disappointed.

I agree, but I'll bet that the two Viera clans' differences will be color based. I hope they don't really give up on eventual new races. They could just make a dwarf-like race (or goblin, if they didn't go with the FFXI version of goblins for the FFXIV world), basically using lalafell models, buffing them a little bit and giving them more adult faces.

Currently, Miqo'te vary slightly (Teeth/eyes) between clans while the Highlander and Midlander models are entirely different from each other. All other races as far as I know mostly just vary in tattoo/accessory, skin tone and Lore background.

Feol being shorter and lighter skin/hair tones would make an excellent visual contrast to the tall dark original Viera. They did it with Highlanders and Midlanders, surely they can do it for the Viera.

But even if we get shot Viera as a clan... They were about Au Ra female short, no?

The only possible known candidate to match a Lala would be Ivalician Moogles from XII... which is basically out due to this trailer's leg reveal.

No, Fran and one of her sisters were as tall if not taller than Balthier was discounting their ears at least not the XII versions the tactics versions were the female au ra size. Now the wait to see what the guys will look like as we still don't know what one looks like.

I feel like viera's are getting the best starter set of the bunch. Curious how the males will look and how the race exclusive hair will be. On a side note really sad to see the Judge armor not obtainable in the last raid.

They may have been working on them to various lengths ever since their concept art was shown alongside the Au Ra... so give or take 4 years? Not to marginalize the amount of work it must take to model clothing of course, but given the amount of gear that is re-used/re-skinned, it might not be as daunting a job as one might think...?

Pretty much this, theres only a handfull of shoes that display the feet, while others are boots and such which wouldnt require all that much to convert into high heeled versions, and are mostly reused assets.

I don't know, I don't report people on here but I think everyone on here is getting very offensive to a character who is new to this game. I'm new to the game too but I love this game, but the reason I oppose this character is because it seems sexist. But I know so many people have been requesting this particular character that SE finally gave in. I want to see what the male version of this character looks before I decide whether I will create an alt for it. So, far, she is the most beautiful of all characters but other than beautiful what makes her a warrior?

I don't feel at all the same about Miqote's, which is a shorter class by the way. They are, maybe, not as short as Lalafels, but with a little modification they can get sort of close. So, please for the sake of all men and women who play this character rightfully so find it appealing please be respectful. Because the comments are getting out of hand and offensive.

I'm not sure what "offensive" comments you're seeing... just discussion of what Viera might look like in general.

I looked back through the discussion and the closest thing to anyone being offensive (except not all that close) is actually your previous comment saying you don't like them and you're disappointed.

I hope what we get is closer to Fran than anything else. Though it seems I will be getting what i want, i still feel the art of the smaller Viera is just depicting children. Children should not be a playable option for a number of reasons.

Itergration of the Feol would be a nice middle of the ground compromise i think. Though explaining where the other half of their parentage comes from would/ could be an issue.

Easy way might be to have foel as the groups on the edge of Viera territory so have a lot more hyur (or other races) blood in them. Veria will need to a lot less insular as a race to be honest

I really wish they'd gone with the Lalafellish size for Viera rather than probably a straight copy... If you look at all the races height, there's a nice curve from Roe down to female Au Ra, then it just drops to Lalafell... Would have been nice to have a body type that fits in between Au Ra and Lalafell there for varieties sake...

At least Rabbit Elezen will offer some new style of emotes perhaps...

Also I must say, it'll be weird if they do just straight up copy Viera completely... Au Ra is an original race, but with the starting five they once made a point to stress that they were different from the five races in Final Fantasy XI, even though they weren't all that different... New names (Tarutaru became Lalafell) and there were a few cosmetic changes (Galka lost their tails when they became Roe), so to have Viera, called Viera and probably straight up having Fran in the game as a complete clone? Well... It's been a long time since 1.0 and the first races were designed I guess...

We already have Lalafell and arguing they don't appear child like is complete BS. Also maybe your mind shouldn't jump to inappropriate things every time you see a child.

But grats on getting Elezen with permanent bunny ears, will totally add to the race variety we have. /s
