A thought: Where are the other recurring characters such as...

In my downtimes that I take from FFXIV, I've been playing through FF Brave Exvius and FF Record Keeper. Between those two games, I re-experience a lot of the good times that I've had with Final Fantasy as a franchise. That being said, while we have some of the most recognizable recurring characters in FFXIV already, I can't help but wonder about who we've not seen up to this point. Like, the Magus Sisters. Think they'll ever show up between 4.5 and the end of Shadowbreakers?

Or the Four Fiends (though to be fair, they've only showed up in 3 mainline game, to my knowledge)?

Pretty sure I missed a few of the recurring characters. Which recurring character/primal/theme would you like to see? Or maybe share your favorite recurring things currently in FFXIV.

I prefer seeing more original new characters in Fanservice Fantasy 14 to be honest. Every time we've had one they've always been super memorable, ie Ravana.

That being said, I'm really hoping we get to see Shemazai and Ultima in the next Ivalice raid.

I'm in between on that topic. I'd say I prefer "obscure" legacy FF reference like we had the Warring Triad in 3.X or Doma in 4.X more than direct references (Deltascape and Sigmascape), although I enjoy the latter anyway. I'll say I don't like it when it feels pushed into the story just for the sake of being a FF reference.

Fingers crossed that we get to fight both her High Seraph and Arch Seraph forms in their glory. Especially curious on if she'll be using Ultima and Divine Providence in the 24-mans.

Except Ultima is alas, story wise, an Ascian (she shows up briefly during the meeting of the Ascians at the Chrysalis during the patch 2.3 story, albeit using her original PS1 FF Tactics translation name of 'Altima', no doubt because SE wanted to avoid confusing players with the Ultima Weapon (the battle theme for which is simply called 'Ultima'. Confused yet? ;)).

Fanservice references will continue to show up and appear in the game so don't give up just yet (although as far as the Magus Sisters are concerned, I wouldn't be surprised if SE went the way of FFXI and referenced them in a more obscure way, rather than have them as, say, a Primal).

Technically it wouldnt really be recurring, given that both my wish-primals only appaeared in FFX (my personal favorite of the series), but I'd love to see them finally reveal Valefor, who they hinted at in that sidequest with the doman kids in Mor Dhona!

But Valefor is only on my wish-list because I liked her so much as summon in FFX (I'd just take a Valefor-Mount aswell, please and thank you) - who I think would make for an intresting fight is Anima! If they keep the FFX-design, we'd end up with a top and a bottom half, which would make for an excellent way to split an 8-man-party 4/4 for at least part of the fights. I really think she could make for an intresting trial!

I've looked at Final Fantasy 11 only having played 7. I see all the classes are there. So I suppose in the future new classes will be here. The developers have met all our list of demands, but for new players who are not in the know maybe we can contribute to the concept of a new class.

Don't forget there is going to be that Final Fantasy 15 Crossover coming up. We've been so excited about the news of the next patch that we forgot about the news. Monster Hunter added so much new to this game, I hope Monster hunter is more than just a Fad.

Question: when the cross over of 15 occurs, do I need to start a new alt to get the benefits of the new lore?

Nope, the crossover events always exist in their own little bubble with no direct connection to the main storyline, so you can enjoy the event quests regardless of where abouts you are up to in the game (at least, the two FFXI events, the FFXIII event and the DQX event were like that).

So, don't be concerned, there will be no need to make an alt to get the 'new lore' when FFXV's crossover event does happen, because it will not have any impact on the main story.

I'd love some moombas of course we don't know what the other beast tribes for 5.0 are yet. I'd think we'd get the god/primal that goes with the Nu Muh. We have gotten a little of 8 but compared to 7, 6, 5 and 4 you'd of thought it didn't sell well or something. Of course we also don't have a lot from 9 either.

I hadn't even though about Valefor, even though it is a popular "newer" summon. I can totally see Anima being a thing too in FFXIV, given things like the Black Death, all the genocide that the Garleans have committed, things like that. I like the idea of having to split party members to fight the different halves. I mean, they did come up with some creative fights (the time loop mechanic for A12, the gravity mechanic in O2, dealing with specific bosses in O12).

9 has this weird thing where some of the references I want are already in. Like the Prima Vista and Ozma. Maybe...Ark? Since we're going to Garlemald?

Don't sweat it lol. Another cool thing I would like to see would be Eden from FFVIII, though.

If we go to the moon (which I'm almost positive we will, since that is literally Zodiark's corpse and where the Ascians live), there might be a 24-man raid or savage dungeon where we will see Magus Sisters/4 Archfiends from FF4. Having the FF1 fiends is tricky because Kraken, Lich, and Tiamat already exist as different kinds of mobs. The 4 fiends from FF4 have more personality and style, anyway. They've nearly existed all bosses from FF1-6, so I think we may start seeing more bosses from FF7+ honestly. Especially with Garlemald being front and center, there's tons of machina in FF7 to draw from. Proud Clad, Airbuster, Heligunner, Carry Armor. There's X-ATM092 from FF8, BGH251F2, and Mobile Type 8

The name "Valefor" is used for the Anantaboga enemies in the first room of Labyrinth of the Ancients. (Rather disappointing if that's a sign that the FFX summon won't be getting added anywhere.)

i point you to belias-egi from smn questline and belias the gigas from RtI, plus sometimes they can sneak in the same enemy through alternate names like Altima or even different civilizations copping a name for reasons (the entire garlean empire)

I point to the whole Halicarnassus in Haukke HM/Sigmascape deal (plus, the Titan/Acheron/Phlegethon deal) that sometimes enemy names can get retconned (Oh, some of the Sons mistranslated this one character from the Anciant Allagan) or given some vague lore-like justification (Halicarnassus the Succubus was named after the queen in an old Ilsabardian fairytale). That said, given that Valefor has actually been name-dropped TWICE (LotA and Doman Adventurer's Guild storyline), I don't think we'd be seeing her anytime soon.

Frankly, since my favorite Summons are already in-game (Knights of the Round and Alexander), I'd like to see Anima for reasons mentioned above :D

The summon was mentioned in the quest I was refering to, though. And they've changed the names of mobs before, so I dont see that as an indicator that we'll never see Valefor as some kind of primal/summon.

I'm new to the FF series, but I was hugely into the Phantasy Star series (namely 3 and 4) I'm finding a lot of cross-over lore in this game now that I'm better understanding it. I highly recommend people who never played Phantasy Star on Genesis take a look at it. Start with 4 then go to 3.

Anyone who knows both series feel the same?

I wonder if they'll bring out the X-ATM092 from FF8 as a boss in Garlemald, I really like the boss, even if it terrified me as a kid.
