SDS Fenrir Mount - Too Quiet

The SDS Fenrir, a giant beefy motorcycle, is quieter than the footsteps of other players.

I can barely make out any sounds when using this mount, meanwhile other mounts like the Gobwalker make so much noise it can induce a migraine.

The background music too seems largely muted in comparison to other mounts.

The body vibrating roar of a motorcycle is one of the greatest features of such a device, meanwhile the SDS Fenrir feels like I am rolling around on an electric scooter.

I would request the volume of the SDS Fenrir sound effects be raised significantly, to at least somewhat reflect the nature of a motorcycle.

Yea I was sorely disappointed when I first got it and the sound it made...

I wouldn't mind it being louder but it's not a great concern of mine.

It needs an emote where you rev it and it gets louder.

I don't have the bike myself, but interestingly, I've been finding other people's bikes annoyingly loud! There's something about the 'idling' sound it makes that makes me feel uncomfortable somehow, to the point that I've been having to turn the sound off if there's one within hearing range.

I wonder if it's something to do with where the theoretical "microphone" is picking up sound from - if I remember correctly, there's a setting to adjust whether it's closer to the camera or to your character. So if it's picking up sound near the camera, you might not hear the bike very well, but someone else might be hearing it louder because their camera location is really close to you.

For a similar instance, the other week I was with some friends and one had the "magic broom" minion that has a constant sweeping sound effect. It was really loud so I asked her to de-summon it, and she was surprised because she couldn't hear it at all.

It could also be a matter of different sound setups, and maybe how your speakers handle particular pitches. I'm using cheap headphones plugged into the PS4 controller.

There are multiple sliders for sound settings in game, including one for other player sound effects. You should look into it. There's pretty good control over sound channels built in that you may not have to turn all sounds off or ask people not to use certain mounts.

On the subject, yeah is a little quiet but I'm just jamming along with "Crazy Motorcycle" so I don't really mind.

Same here, actually. I just mess with my camera angle so that I can't hear them but it bothers me if one is idling nearby (if I'm not on my own). It probably has something to do with idling cars irl making me anxious, in the same way phones do. (It's the kineticism of the sound, it means something is "waiting" and ramps my anxiety through the roof.)

I don't need them to change it nor do I do anything about it other than move myself or my camera but... it's not just you.

I just want to hear the roar of the engine as I race across Thanalan.

Yeah it is way to quiet. Way to quiet for a motorbike. Shouldn't hear foot steps over it.

It's quieter than stuff like the Magitek Conveyor mount (literally a hovering chair that doesn't contact the ground at all) and the Kongamato.. seriously, why is a giant dragonfly louder than a flying motorcycle?

It definitely needs to be louder, the idle should be a rumble and the driving sound should be an audible growl, maybe even revving when you take off.

Not to mention it should transform for flying mode and be two-seated for $30 like the others.

If it was a 2 seater with it's speed boost then it would probably be $40 or more. I was very happy with paying my $30 so my baby characters can have that first speed boost before I get the MSQ stuff done for it. Besides, it will be super nice in Shadowbringers!

Totally agree it should transform some for flying (similar to the falcon mount) and be just a little louder. I was shocked at how quiet the bike and the music are when just idling in front of my FC house.

I just wish my feet didn't sink into the ground when I sit idle on it.

I didn't even know the SDS Fenrir made a sound until I saw this post. I have to turn my sound effects all the way yo max to sorta of barely hear it but I can't keep it that high because then all other sound effects are obnoxiously loud. I have to keep my sound effects at 20% for it to be at a normal volume. Even my master volume is already down to 3% to be a normal and appropriate volume.

what do you mean too loud?

It feels like there are way too many of them XD

I just wish I could play Triple Triad while riding it.

I'm OK with the sound as is... I use my mount to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible... and not having an 'annoying' sound makes or breaks mounts for me. Sometimes sounds can be extremely distracting to the point that I cannot use a specific mount because of it. Over on ESO, the only mounts I could ever use were the Senche mounts because they didn't have annoying sounds associated with it. Thus, the Fenrir mount works for me because it's more quiet and not as annoying as some others.

Same issue. The bike should have much MUCH better sound FX during travel. Not just louder although that is part of it. It's very underwhelming and needs a redo. The idle sfx is the only thing that sounds right. i have no idea why some people this it is too loud. Something wrong with their sound settings idk.
