Yeah... My initial impressions were that little good is going to come out of this feature.
Like...what's keeping a dedicated group of players from hopping between servers and monopolizing hunt marks? There's already enough drama with just the server's community going after them.
Iḿ watching the stream at work muted, so I don´t know the details, but itś likely you won´t be able to interact with some things, like market boards...and Iḿ the crappy laptop with the messed up apostrophe. Great.
I hope this brings more life in to older content. I would take this new option than more cross world instances such as Eureka any day...
Honestly, it'll help balance out market boards if we can trade when we travel between servers. And for servers like Balmung folks can jump off, get a house, and still participate in all the degeneracy they want.
Can't bring myself to choose beside this or NG+ as the most useless feature to be implemented in the game.
I'm hoping this means they will making more things to do in the outside world. Sad to see mostly empty beautiful zones with nothing to do in them.
I think the idea is cool.
I didn't mind this back in GW2 before they pulled out the mega server, so only time will tell if it works here or not. Personally I would hope that some things are gated to prevent market trolling and/or gil spammers rushing into previously locked worlds, but otherwise I'm happy for the prospect.
We're probably not going to be able to trade or buy houses on other servers, not as long as the MB and housing wards stay isolated to one server.
I imagine things such as housing, joining FCs and Linkshells, and the selling of items will be restricted to your Home World. But buying items, participating in hunts, crafting/gathering, daily quests, etc. will all be unrestricted.
Depends on the world unless your on a small server where the MB is horrible for buyers. Some things are never in stock or extremely overpriced compared to other servers. An example I have an alt on Zalera and gave up on having the flying chair mount as it's never in stock.
I am not really sure why we even needed it..I mean now with the server wide LS. Also do they really believe that people would always just go away from busy servers and move to less busy ones to do stuff? And what will happen if you want to go back to your home world but there is too much traffic there and you cant? How bad would it be if you lose your house because you are somehow stuck on another world? x)
Also cant people just hop around the servers for hunts and things like that? Wouldnt that make it worse for those on the server? What about Bots? Wouldnt they suddenly get to server which they could not get to before that?
I really dont like the idea, especially after stuff like Raubahn savage..
Can't wait for zones to crash when people from multiple data centres try to make it to 5.0's version of Ixion.
I sincerely hope that if there is no changes to the way hunts work, that The Hunt is not available to people from different worlds. Having an entire data center worth of hunter flood to Balmung in an attempt to get to an S Rank sounds like the worst thing.
I hope so but what if Balmung or other big servers are then constantly full so that you cant log back in because others are constantly going to that server? I am just not really sure if that is a great idea, especially with all the server problems they have right now.
You can fully expect the marketboard and buying plots to be inaccessible while visiting another world, after all they did say in the slides that several features would be unavailable while visiting a world. The main problem here is hunts, and I really hope someone can get this feedback to him before that change goes live.
I hope trading and MB will not be accessible on visited server's. You could crash the fil
Gil economy or introduce a new form of RMT potentially
Doubt you can interact with the MB if you are a visitor. If they wanted to go all in on that they could have just linked them all. It's probably more like the tech used in Eureka, where you can play with people in the zones on the server and do all that stuff that have personal rewards (FATEs, hunts) and maybe stuff you roll on like treasure maps but won't be able to trade, use the MB or buy houses. Could be wrong but eh.
I'm not sure why people are saying this will affect the Market Board... it won't.
Every server has it's own economy (this is why there is a VERY restricted limit on how much gil you can bring from server to server when transferring). My guess is you won't be able to buy/sell from the MB, won't have access to your retainers either (as this could potentially affect the economy on your visiting server), won't be able to buy plots (housing) etc...
This feature will be good if you want to "visit" people and "hang out" with them. I'm not sure why they are introducing it at all to be honest but, it's SE. There's a lot of useless stuff around (for ex: the app).
EDIT: Trade is also a feature that probably will be restricted.
Being able to sell on the MB of other servers would be a horrible idea, since there's already bot farmers pulling cross-server MB domination schemes and they'd be able to do it even more easily if they didn't have to pay transfer fees.
I sincerely worry about the level of pain this will bring. I literally started the game over to get away from a heavily populated world. There was no housing on Sargatanas, and it was impossible to do certain content like the Hunt. Massive amounts of people were scanning for B ranks, and murdering them before anyone got there. Couldn't even get credit for the things even if you did get a hit in. Even FATEs were a pain some days.
I know it's a horrible way to view things, but... I just see it as a way for people to troll around in a world they don't care about, then simply travel back home when they're done abusing it for personal gain. I think this needs to be contained like it is in Eureka.
Smacks of CRZ (cross realm zoning) type that in google, search... I really hope this doesn't come to that. I really hope this goes well because I came from a place where it did not go well at all, I left there because of it. Starts out small, infiltrates to everything later as it goes along. I really hope I'm wrong about this. I hope its nothing like CRZ or..
This will wreck the Hunt if unrestricted. Considering the hunt has quite a large community, I sincerely hope they've thought this one through.
It blows my mind that we have this pretty comprehensive treasure map system -- absolutely PERFECT for finding/farming pop items for NMs that could be killed/hunted by FCs and linkshells -- and SE really does nothing with it. This is the exact kind of content that would make World Visits worthwhile.Quote:

I get the feeling that this is their way of testing things before moving toward mega servers. First we can visit one another and then BAM we are all stuck together.
Probably would need to overhaul how housing and the market works before that happens. Else you'll basically always be in a new server cluster cause of your house and the markets will instantly crash due to servers with a low economy.
It is a nice concept though that can work, and they have the basis for that stuff alreeady with PF, Cross-LS, and now the World Visits.
