Shadowbringers is revealed as the next expansion.
Looked great!
Yoshi wears a bugs bunny shirt - Viera confirmed.
Dammit I was gonna post this first!!!
But anyway... Yeah. We're gonna be the Warrior of Darkness, apparently. I saw the cinematic.
Projected release Early summer 2019
What if I don't want to be the Warrior of Darkness? I guess Warrior of Balance doesn't sound as cool.
Will be taken down the Garleans,
Characters to focus on Solus zos Galvus, Zenos
Whelp. The people who were begging to be a Warrior of Darkness instead of Light are about to get their wish. I'd rather remain for the Light, but as various works have proven, Light and Dark aren't good and evil by themselves. It all depends on who wields it.
And so far, the early predictions have been true. Next expansion is indeed titled "Shadowbringers".
Battle against Ascians will come to a head.
The Warrior of Light must become the Warrior of Darkness revealed in 4.5
So... how do we abbreviate that? xD
Psh. Called it. All he did was heavily tease the new incoming jobs, and pointed out that apparently there's a major hint to one in the Shadowbringers trailer.
ISHGARD RECONSTRUCTIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Trust system confirmed.
Depending on who's available, I'm know which characters I'll be aiming for first. :P
Both the new game+ and world visit features are unheard of in MMOs and are actually very clever. Mind boggling.
Considering the way things have been going so far, I don't doubt this one bit. The question just simply remains as to what role they'd reveal the job as. (And if the leak is true, it'll be a tank job)
Indeed. I can't think of any MMO where these were features either. I don't see myself using New Game+, but I might get some use out of the World Visit feature.
EDIT: And a new race just got teased, and it heavily leans towards the Viera being added.
CEO of SE just came out dressed as a Blue Mage. Blue Mage confirmed.
EDIT: And played a video confirming Blue Mage!!!! YES!
And suddenly a man disguised as a wizard with a blue cloak... Odd, what does it mean?
Bugs Bunny and CEO as new race and job. ;)
We be getting Blue Mage! COMPLETE WITH LEARNING ACTIONS FROM ENEMIES! OH BOY! :D
EDIT: Coming in 4.5 no less! It all keeps adding up. o.O
Something very interesting happened in that trailer.
The hero demonstrated multiple mid-combat job changes.
I wonder if that's a feature they will be adding.
BLUE MAGE IS COMING IN 4.5!!!!
Is the Blue Mage being capped at 50 why it's called a Limited Job?
Teaser trailer is up on YouTube now if anyone missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxBYy1uzSqI
I would guess "Limited jobs" are jobs that are neither Tank, DPS or healer.
If it is like FFXI, you will need to setup a limited number of actions you can bring in combat.
From there, I would guess, depending on how the monster actions works (ability only or stats attached to it), you can spec a BLU to be a DPS, tank or healer or hybrid of some sort.
The issue I would see is that there are not enough healing abilities used by monsters to make a full fledged healer, that I can think of.
Maybe the theme shadowbringers is not so black and white choices. Going to have make more morale choices, make sacrifices, or do bad things for the greater good.
Given XIV's track record, my theory is that limited either means "limited to what content you can take it into" or "limited to no quests/story, just open-world skill gain". I don't foresee them allowing us to gain anything more than a set number of skills & abilities, and I doubt they're going to give us enough of an arsenal to "craft your own class". I could be wrong, but I look at prior content and really can't see it being that involved.
Time to save up for pre-order of the CE Shadowbringers
