How is the new Eureka installment?
After seeing what Pyros has to offer... I'm kinda glad I am work for once during a patch. Pyros looks like a mess based on what you have to do. I will just wait for nerfs just like they did with Pagos.
Patch wont download
Looks like Pagos 2.0 at first glance.
I already lost interest in the relics so the gear was the only thing that wouldda gotten me in, but they made them role gear and used mostly hideous and copied designs so I have no reason to even enter now unless someone here makes it sound like the best experience SE has come up with yet in this game.
Looks very similar to pagos. Just did a lvl 35 fate that spawned in an area full of lvl 39-40 mobs, people were dying left and right because they would aggro the higher lvl mobs. NM mechanics are as broken as ever because of server load: there was a forced march mechanic that only hit a small part of the players there, same goes for the usual gaze mechanic.
I left the instance right after that fate. Not worth my time. I'll probably follow the same strategy I used for pyros: level with the challenge log in anemos until a high enough level so that I can walk around the map without being raped by the first stupid firefly 5 levels above me in the initial area and then leech off the inevitable NM train. Fates give tons of exp at least.
I'm worried about logos actions though. They might be part of a grind worse than the light one in pagos. Guess I'll just wait and see what the community finds out.
I feel like SE knew it was bad because in one of the cutscenes Gerolt start talking about how to go about a new way to improve the relic and the WoL starts walking away before Gerolt could finish. If you won't do Pyros go in just to see that. Sadly I'm done with the relic now and my progress stop here.
My initial impression while exploring is it's slightly better when it comes to elemental level required to attune to the south and middle Aethernet shards. Everything else though feels worse in terms of throwing sheer numbers of mobs to make a reasonable person paranoid they will die and delevel (if away from the grind zones everyone else is at).
The first aetheryte to the South is level 37 to attune and 2nd one to the North is level 39 to attune so they relaxed the requirements a little compared to Pagos with the level 30 aetheryte in the North West.
Honestly though my first impression even stepping out of the gated area was that the place is Pagos v2 with some fancy add-on's.
It seems like they have kept the buffed NM exp from Pagos though so hopefully leveling won't be as terrible this time round but the chaining is exactly the same and horrendous.
Everyone poked their head in for a second, turned around, and went straight back to Pagos to complete their challenge log and farm EXP. We probably won't know what it's really like until people start hitting mid-level.
It still sucks unfortunately, don't waste your time playing this. Might as well wait for 5.0 and pray to god for more and better content. :D
Best 120mins of my life <3...
The bunny fate now gives exp and lockboxes. About 330k worth of exp. The first NM that is spawned give 2 mill exp. At least they listened about the bunny fate so far. The Logograms drop like candy. The hair drops from the bunny fate.
I'm curious as to how the more interesting logos abilities like Focus are created/obtained.
The initial batch isn't terribly exciting.
Initial impressions I feel slightly better than Pagos and worse than Anemos. The logogram farming is going to be annoying i'm pretty sure. Speaking of Logograms... Logograms drop like crazy from the Sprites. The amount seems to be tied to the chain number. Under 10 chain and you'll get 5. 10 and over you'll get 10. Lost chain at this point in my group but I'd assume that 20 you get 20 and so on. First confluence is pretty close to the base. One thing that seems different is the mob density. Everything is packed super tight and the mobs form impenetrable walls at times which is really annoying. You'll either have to take one for the team and plow through or run through and then die nearby someone so they can rez you. Wondering if there will be a stealth logogram at some point because of this. Either way its not absolutely horrible... yet... still only level 36. Saw one NM spawn over the course of 3 hours I was inside which gave 2.4 million xp. You need about 6.8 million xp to level from 35 to 36 so about a third of a level so not bad.
Mob density is crazy. Makes doing challenge log super fast right outside base camp if you do big pulls as a party. Everywhere else is okay I guess.
Aesthetically the zone is amazing, I explored it all and ironically Pyros does ice and snow better than Pagos. Bottlenecking isn't as bad since there are 2-3 different routes to get anywhere. Dragons are back but only in the north east section of the map, but most have such a wide area you can actually run past without aggroing them.
Bunnies giving experience keeps you busy while waiting on NMs or whatever. FATE stuff will settle eventually as people level, the 35 FATE is only a shit fest because it's spawned by Bhoots which aggro on low health, so they naturally come running over throughout.
Logos actions are pretty cool, I particularly like the passives like the defence one and the reraise. I can see the majority of them being garbage levels of useless, just like anything in this game when it comes to choice, but being able to off globally instant Cure 2 as a DPS is really nice.
All in all its pretty solid and I think it'll only improve as people start levelling and migrating away from the starter zone. Chain exp is insane now so it's a solid option if that's your thing.
Pagos can eat shit and die in Pyros' fire.
First NM is a reskin of the final boss in Sirensong Sea, with the forced march and forced retreat mechs while covering the ground in aoes. Requires killing Bhoots to spawn. Gives around 2.2 mil exp. Second NM that was spawned is a reskin of the mutant Azys La S rank Coerul. It loves to jump from one side of the fate arena to the other in one big dash attack and follows it up with a large cone aoe right the front or the back which will now most likely cover everyone. Also does a look-away mech that you have to look away from or you will be brought down to 1 hp and immediately killed by the massive amounts of Tortoise adds that get dragged in. Gives around 2.4 mil exp.
First Aetheryte you can attune to in the field is the southern one in Southwestern Ice Needles. Requires level 37 to attune to.
NM spawn rate is like Anemos, not Pagos, so they don't take long to spawn.
EXP rate from NMs is like Anemos, not Pagos, so NMs might be the best way to level, but you need to wait a few days until chain grinders get high level enough to spawn more NMs, until then you'll be limited to 3-4 NMs.
Base is designed like Anemos, set in a convenient place where it doesnt take too long to reach at least 70% of the map, though there are far reaches.
No max level +5 mobs spread randomly around low level areas to force you to slow down.
From what I've read logograms seem to drop more from sprites, which is a problem since there are not so many sprites and you lose any set logos action when you leave the instance, not to mention farming sprites is worse than chain grind when level appropriate sprites only spawn under certain weathers. Maybe higher level NMs give more logograms.
Looks like Pyros will wait for Kulve Taroth to be gone on MHW pc to see me afking my way trough it ! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pagos Part 2: Electric Boogaloo
The emote is only thing I'm interested in but I passed on Pagos. If anyone could later say how frequent/or not it drops...
At this rate I will sooner make the gil to buy it off the MB. >.>;
The FFXI glamour has been my favorite thing about Eureka so far (although getting the O Hat was no fun) but Pyros doesn't seem to have much FFXI stuff except for the two dhalmel minions.
I will likely wait a couple weeks for the train to form and all the NM's to be found.
It's been fun. Exp is more generous. The Logos system looks like it'll be cool to unlock useful skills. The defense one was pretty good for solo-ing +3000 def and +50% hp.
PSA: for the level 38 FATE, Graffiacane, please run when you're "IT" and she tries to tag you. If she catches you, that AOE stomp will do massive damage in a massive AOE. Makes tumult look like a kid throwing a tantrum.
Mob density and respawn rate is INSANE. That's both a good and bad thing. When you're trying to kill and NM and adds are constantly spawning? Mass death. I would not want to be a healer in there, instant death.
Got my challenge log done faster than I've ever done it before though.
Once again Krile sends you off into places with mobs 5 levels above you just to murder you.......
The logogram stuff is a bit irritating, then I saw you can sell the sealed logograms on the MB...
Only went in for a few min on my lunch break. I was able to do the bunny fate and another nm. I'm already half way to 36. The exp is much improved so it won't take you long to level up. Don't know much about everything else.
I'm quite curious about how the upgrade process work this time, not that will change anything but anybody have info about it ?
Hate the place. Been nice to know when leave that any logos actions that you have vanish once you exit. Place is another huge let down. Even ones not active vanished when left. What is point of even getting them if even saved ones vanish.
It's good you level a lot faster with nms giving you millions of exp like 2-3 to start out probably higher as you level up.
I hope the more interesting logograms are more common at max level, because the inability to retain an active set of logograms after leaving would be kind of terrible if some of them are extremely rare.
After having spent a lot more time with it, it's definitely better than Pagos. (At least early on, I don't know about the relic quest yet.)
The first two aetherytes are level 37 and 39. Compared to Pagos having them at 21 and 30. You don't have to be in Pyros very long before you can teleport and get to most of the NMs without running across the entire map.
And running across the map isn't quite as bad either. It might look like the same choke point filled nightmare, but I haven't encountered any sleeping dragons yet. Most of those narrow passages have like two regular mobs in them. Overall the mobs seem placed much better than Pagos.
The lockboxes still seem bad though. Maybe it's still early, but the hairstyle seems to be too rare, similar to the emote in Pagos. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's just that everyone is using their first hair and that's why it's not flooding the market board yet, but the hair is priced similar to the emote on the market board right now around 30-50 million, but the new furnishings from pyros lockboxes seem to all be around 100k. I can live with grinding logograms to catch'em all through rng and probably whatever other tedium getting the weapon is going to bring, but just let me get my dang fluff items for once Yoshi, you don't need to torture me from every angle.
It seems closely tied to logograms, so adding RNG on top of the grind. Hopefully the mix will mean both things are toned down and neither are too bad, but I wouldn´t get my hopes up. To be more precise, you need to obtain different abilities, for example for the first upgrade you need to discover 10 different abilities.
It looks like the NM items are used to upgrade the magia board.
The relic process is basically like stamp collecting, but with logograms instead. Collect 10 stamps and I think I read 200 pyros crystals for the first step.
