Which job is more "artistic"/serene in combat?

"artistic" i mean less wild (like warrior) and with more serenity.

i'm think that maybe red mage (stylish) or white mage (harmonious) or paladin (disciplined)

in term of roleplay, i'm think like a noble, quiet, pride and powerful apparency

in term of anime character, someone like Kuchiki Byakuya

Which job do you think is most appropriate?

ps: i'm thinking, maybe, change my race to Elezen too (to fit).

I don't know if it would fit your description, but I've always thought Astrologian had very pretty animation. Very girly and sparkly.

It's the Artemis Bow Ultima. And yes, it is absolutely amazing. ^^

Many of these were guesses from beta, before NA players could play on the JPN client / language. With the kanji now clear, most of the meanings are obvious from swapping client versions.

Hakaze - 刀風 (Blade Wind), pun on the more frequent 羽風 (the wind from a wingbeat / from flying).

Jinpu - 陣風 (Militant/War Wind), pun on the more frequent 神風 (divine wind).

Shifu - 士風. Not a homophone with any common words. Again you can see the suffix 風, which literally means wind, but generally just marks the prior as a style or manner of doing something. The prefix is 士, which alone would mean samurai, but can be a bit more varied as a prefix of a compound to mean just a respected man or one in the related profession (士官, shi + to official/authority/gov. service = officer; 士気, shi + spirit/air/mood = moral / esprit de corps). Likely means something like the wind of the samurai.

Gekko - 月光. Literally, moonlight.

Kasha - 花車. Literally, flower wheel.

Yukikaze - 雪風. Common word. Snow-bearing winds.

Enpi - 燕飛. Swallow's flight.

Mangetsu - 満月. Full Moon.

Oka - 桜花. Cherry Blossom.

Meikyo Shisui - 明鏡止水. Clear mirror, still water. (The mind gives the best image when at calm.)

Ageha - 鳳蝶. A bit strange. By the reading, it's essentially 揚羽(蝶), a swallowtail (butterfly), but in this case it's written with a rarer variant, using Firebird -- instead of swallowtail / braised-wing -- and butterfly. Seems a symmetry, similar to "(float like a) butterfly, (sting like a) bee".

Kaiten - 回天. Turn the heavens.

Shinten - 震天. Shake the heavens. （Note the 4-character phrase 震天動地、earth-shaking, or literally, to shake the heavens and move the earth).

Kyuten - 九天. The heavens (entire); the heavenly palace.

Guren - 紅蓮. A crimson lotus flower, generally. Alternatively, its color: bright red.

Hagakure - 葉隠(れ). Hidden / hiding in the leaves. (Also the other name of the Leaf Village from Naruto..., apart from 火の葉, the flame (nation)'s leaf (village).)

Dragoon has sakura pettles blossoming out of one of our attacks. Clearly we are the most artistic and elegant class.

Dark Knights, there's a lot of purple in their attacks and purple is the best color. And allegedly, according to that one quest, we paint the whole country side crimson. And are you going to sit there and tell me throwing a spikey screaming death ball isn't the very picture of elegance.

I hope this thread becomes obsolete with the 5.0 reveal and we will get a dancer. So far I would have to go with Samurai.

I really like the RDM easthetic. Especially when he AoEs. I find the arm movement when casting Scatter very pleasant.
Unfortunately the waiting for the GCD after the second cast breaks the flow.

I like BLM spell apparence. I love how you hold your staff like it's about to explode when casting F/I IV.

I love Holy,Aero3, Stone3 and Asylum casting animation. The fact that we fly gives a great feeling of strength while being quiet elegant. (Especially Asylum and Aero3)



Regarding roleplay I've no clue I'vedone any.

If anything I'd like more spells to have a bit of dual animation like scatter so that when you chain them they're slightly different.

That one also has an interesting sound effect...some sort of string instrument, which is weird considering the rest is like SMASH PIERCE SWOOSH EXPLOSION POLE DANCE VWOOOOOOOSH!!!!

The most serene combat style is probably AST.

The most artistic, martially speaking, would likely be a tie between SAM and MNK.

I am reminded of "Zen and the Art of Archery."

Probably RDM when engaging in melee phase...

NIN actually have quite an elegant feel when chaining their skills.
