Hello, just had a few questions in regards to the upcoming server merge and trying to get a feel for Figaro, as our LS is currently discussing which server path we want to take.
1.) How's your numbers? I.e. general server size during NA primetime, JP primetime, etc.
2.) Do the LS's seem to be more social- or event-oriented?
Also, if you have any questions about Melmond let me know!

also, I'd say there is a party shouting in uldah for xp/spiritbond pretty much throughout the evening (5pm cst-11pm cst). I've recently seen a lot of names that I've never seen before and I've been playing since release, so that's always a good sign.
2) What kind of LSs?
Definitely a mix of both. If I had to try and count them, I'd say there are about 4-5 NA end game, all R50 jobs event-LSs and 10+ social LSs hanging around or talking in chat. The top 1-2 NA event-LS's tackle the content fairly quickly as within ~1-5 days of world first kills. The way I might gauge the LSs' strengths, is seeing which/when LS members get certain achievements on ffxivpro (Batraal, Ifrit, Moogle speed kill etc).
Questions for you:
How much is Bloodthirst materia, Healers Hand materia, and HQ karakul fleece on your server? :3

My ls is mostly social (generally NA, but not limited to) but we do several runs when we can, as well as help new players out and each other. In the ls, our numbers have grown very fast with a mix of new members and veteran. I'm the type to work with the community, currently working with another linkshell to keep events rolling. Looking forward to meeting players on Melmond!

Yes. There are Ifrit pick-up shout parties forming all the time, at least 2-3 every night. As for moogle, it's a little rarer but I still see one every couple days. I don't see many parties shouting for farming stronghold NMs or open world NMs though.
How would I rate the worlds personality? Search function etc
Hard to say since I don't know everyone, but I would say that most players are 18+ and a lot of former XI players. So the community is very mature. There are of course those troll characters that are probably on every server...Everyone seems excited for 1.21 and the merger, they are just kinda depressed how long it's taking SE to follow through. I think every LS suffers from inactivity this far into 1.20. I know our LS numbers are down from 12 to 8 on every night. This has somewhat forced a lot of players from different linkshells to join pickups together. I rarely ever see people use the search function. Maybe 10/200 have the search feature up. Shouting in uldah is still the way to go. English player base is fairly large around peak times, 200+ with 2-3 Ifrit/exp/spiritbonding shouts.

Omen (International, but do endgame with NA)

Phoenix Order (mix of social/endgame)
Phenomenon (not too sure about this LS)

I think pretty much every LS is "recruiting" for the merger, just to hopefully pick up the best players from Melmond since the merger is a great opportunity.

Generally our LS tends to float around in the top 8 of the server according to pro if that means anything. We're actually an international LS so we're active at almost all hours. And though we're pretty social, we do do all the endgame stuff too. I think along with Dancing Mad and a few others, we're one of the only English speaking LS's that have successfully done the 10 minute Moogle on Figaro? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong XD.

Mercury being one of them we are a smaller end game ls, Radient Plume is another smaller end game ls with many exp'd Players (Mad Platter would be the man to talk with if you'd like to know more of them), New Order is an ls that has had many members join in the past month or two I think it is a social ls I am not sure, and The ForsakeN has gone through many remakes but they are alive and kicking I think they are a social ls but they have a core of exp'd players who like to do end game stuff. Those are the ls's of notoriety in Melmond from my experience. I am sure I have left some out and I do apologize for it. =PQuote:

Sidenote Chibs, New order is a social currently, but in the coming months we are looking to actually go towards end game ls with a social aspect. I guess best of both worlds.

Oh I almost forgot. What Grand company are a lot of people from in Figaro? I personally am in Gridania because well it's the best just sayin. But I know many are from Ul'dah then there are a few at LL. Is it spread out differently on your server? Also do people shout/search for gc caravans often? Do you have any gc linkshells?
Ps: Another reason Melmond is awesome is because we have Reinheart Valentine

As far as Grand Companies, I just did a search and found the following:
185 - Maelstrom
159 - Twin Adder
230+ - Flames
However, this is early morning PST on a Monday. I feel like the Gridania numbers are more in line with the others among NA players.
[Edit: Just checked again during NA primetime. The numbers at the moment are: 96 Flames, 102 Adder, 78 Maelstrom.]
I don't see many shouts for caravan. I can't say for sure how often the LL and Ul'dah ones happen since I don't pass through Skull Valley or Drybone as often as Treespeak. My LS has been regularly doing the Gridania one lately and never encounter another group at the same time. I've seen Japanese groups running it more often, but of course much later in the night. We've had a couple of people join in when we didn't have a full group on a few occasions, which was fun. Will be nice to have more activity out there!
I know that there's an LS for the Maelstrom caravan, but not certain about the other two.
Looking forward to the merge! You guys seem like a nice group. :D -

<3 Reinheart. As for the Grand Companies, Like mentioned above, there's an LS for the Maelstrom and one for the Flames too, both created by Omen members XD. I'm not actually sure whether or not there's one for the Adders or not, or if there's more than one LS for the other two.
I see shouts for the Flames Caravans often enough, but rarely for the other two, That might be because I spend most of my time in Ul'dah though >_>. Most of the time we do Maelstrom caravans we form through the LS for it and tend to be the only group out there as well.
I can say that the Flames have the most members and that the other two seem about even, though the numbers above seem to indicate that Maelstrom might have a bit of an edge over the Adders. -

Just wanted to chime in and say hello to everyone! Everyone seems nice so far, which is great! I'm the leader of Phoenix Order, and we're basically as Seiken described. A lot of our players are endgame, and we do endgame events regularly but we're pretty relaxed about it; though we do keep pace with the other endgame LSes. We just like to branch out and take in newer players as well and have that social aspect. We're also a late night PST shell, so we'll often be doing events at hours that are pretty ungodly to many people. Doesn't mean we're not friendly though. =)
I'd say 75% of PO are Adders, but that was a conscious choice in the LS. It kind of feels to me like the numbers are a little closer to even across the board like Elysia said, with a bit of a Flames bias if anything. I think that caravans just aren't a frequently done event in general, at least among the NA population, so there's a good chance that if you go out with a group you'll have the event to yourself at any given time.
One thing I'd like to mention is that it looks like everyone on Melmond gets along pretty well. That's really cool, because one thing I really like about Figaro is how well everyone gets along. There are some LSes with closer relationships than others like PO and Dancing Mad, but for the most part everyone is friendly and there's generally no real drama between LSes (that I know of at least). I hope we can keep it that way and we can all enjoy playing together. Looking forward to seeing all of the new faces. ^^ -

The ladies do love the subligars and Reinheart. ^_^ Sweet, I'm glad there's a good mix. We have a few gc linkshells in Melmond but they are both jp linkshells to my knowledge. We have a ll and Grid one. If I am not mistaken most of our Ul'dahns tend to be mostly en speakers. Hopefully I'll get to do a caravan with ya Elysia assuming I head to Aegis which it looks like my ls is. Rika I am sure there are shouts you might not just notice them due to the fact your and Ul'dahn looking for the Ul'dahn gc caravans. If Figaro is as nice as you guys are on the forums I am sure we will all get along swimmingly. As you guys and myself as long as you don't mind me walking up to your cat ladies and saying "Hey baby you looking for a good time Sweet Cheeks?" we should be fine.
Edit in response to Karina's post: Most melmond players know each other due to the fact that our NA base has been large then dwindled a few times it seems like players come and go alot on our server. When I first started playing as soon as I hit my first 50 I knew all of the other 50's or knew of them. For the most part a lot of Melmondians (Look at me I'm fancy making up words XD) have multiple linkshells to play with to increase the chances of getting a party. We mostly do things with in the linkshells we have. We have a linkshell that gets upset if your with another ls and not wearing their tag but they might adapt and change with the merger. As for me I used to carry 8 linkshells but I decided to drop them all but 2. I carry a Mercury pearl and a Fightclub pearl. Fightclub died awhile back though sadly though. But I am a dedicated member to it and don't plan to drop it though because it was my first home. Right now I feel as if Mercury is my current home and I have no need for another linkshell I decided. I am sure I shall be picking some linkshells as the merger happens though. I might be slow to picking some up or quick to picking some up it will all depend on how comfortable I feel with the people I meet.
One ls I play with a lot on our server and an ls of notoriety is Ohana, But they're an international ls lead by an Aussie with many members from JP and few from NA. -

Everyone forgets about Tonberry Preservation Society, even Rika who is a member *cough, cough* Like all the above we are down in numbers as people loose interest in the wait for 1.21. We are the relaxed end game LS no set times if people are on and want to do moogle or ifrit we do it but outside that we all do our own thing and help anyone out both inside and outside LS. I know we help other linkshells get numbers up for events and vice versa and Figaro in general is a friendly place with out much competitiveness that FF11 had.

Yep, pretty much what Chibi said about the NA LS's. I know there's a lot of JP LS's but they contain most of the same people. Our LS (Radiant Plume) has around 25 members, about 1/2 NA and 1/2 EU, I'm just not sure how many of the EU will be going to Ragnarok (we're still discussing it).

Yes, we have some bad apples & drama lama's on our server they're every where sadly. Some might call me one but they're just upset I left that I left their linkshell. I do not believe I am a bad apple I just speak my mind when I find some thing to be wrong. As for our bad apples you shall meet them and we shall meet yours. Hopefully the nice friendly players will make it all worth having the bad apples around.

When the server merge happens me and my wife is looking for a Linkshell that does Moogle/Ifrit and other events while it being casual since we got 2 kids we got to attend to time to time... We're on PST hours around 8-10PM to 1-2AM almost daily on weekdays and weekends if we got nothing to do and kids are quiet watching anime/cartoon then we're on during the day :)

There are LS's for GC activities as we as a few LS's for ppl who are looking for party members of the same lvl. Most of us are friendly and helpful on Figaro, and are looking forward to the new dynamics and chemistry of a larger population. Most of our end game LS's are great ppl and also willing to colaberate with other or new LS's to get content done, or just to have a lil more fun with others. Pick up parties are common but pretty effective on our server and has brought many of us together. I cant wait till we're united with our FF brethren from Melmond =)

We do pretty much everything, Ifrit/Moogle/Spiritbond/Caravans/etc, though we will probably be focusing on the new 1.21 content once the patch comes out before revisiting those events. We're pretty easygoing, no one's going to be upset if you miss a night or have to afk for a while. We actually have a member who just became a dad, so he has to tend to his baby frequently and it's never a problem~Quote:
