Fanfest most likely. They'll give us a teaser trailer and maybe a few details. Will also likely tease a new job. They are creatures of habit, so it's not hard to figure out what to expect.
When's the fanfest? (Or does anyone know that yet?)
FanFest is November 16-17th :3

Technically it takes place over the course of a few months. Not non stop, obviously.
NA teased DRK in 2014 and RDM in 2016.
JP fanest (2014 & 2016) confirmed both and teased MCH (2014) and SAM (2016).
EU (2015 & 2017) Confirmed both and for the HW (2015) completely surprised with AST. Which had people guessing there would be a third surprise job even though they had always said only 2 this time.
As for this time around I'd love BLU and DNC. New race would be fun, but it would have to be another alt as I'm having a hard time dealing with the change to my hair for Halloween. I could never Fantasia my main.
Assuming the leak are accurate, BLU should be announced at the first Fan Fest.
DNC being more popular and "expected", if they follow HW pattern it would be announced at the second FanFest.
BLU hinted at NA. They announced no jobs at the NA fests previously. He just wore the shirts. Batman for DRK and Scarlet Witch for RDM. The jobs were confirmed at the EU fest where he wore James Bond and Spider-Man to hit at MCH and SAM. Which were confirmed in EU fest, with AST thrown in with no warning at all.
Expect no job announcement at NA, just a T-Shirt hint. Whichever seems to be less of a stretch first. Although with the leaks who knows what they'll do if the leaks are true.
If the leak is true and there are three jobs, including blue mage possibly before 5.0, I would expect it to be announced at NA fanfest. I mean they would need to give it some hype before 4.5 drops, IF the leak is true.
If it's not and there's just two 5.0 jobs coming then yeah this is probably the pattern they'll go for.
If the leak is true though, that means the NA fanfest is the only on that will be early enough to announce blue mage before 4.5. Though again that's still assuming the leak is true and that blu is coming and coming before 5.0. With HW all three jobs were coming in 3.0. Of course it's possible that BLU could get announced independently of fanfest in a 4.5 centered live letter or something, but IF the leak is true and blu is coming before 5.0 I'd be surprised if they don't announce it at fanfest.
That's all hinging on the leak being true though, and if I recall correctly it said blu was slated to be revealed at E3 which didn't happen, meaning either it was delayed or the leak was just false to begin with.
They have said they wont ever release a job between expansion again. so the leak would go against that, which leads me to believe its false.
Unless they release it as not an actual job, but part of eureka, which i could see since they didnt think blu would work as a standard job in this game.
I remember Yoshida saying he did want bluemage, but not with "classic" job. i cant find where i did read it sorry.
This was a good news, due to the fact bluemage is really special. So was thinking to a content specifically think for it.
In this case, it wouldnt even be a break of the "wont do a new job out of expansion" because it would be more a "content" than a job.
on the other side. The leak said "before 5.0" and 4.5 gets close (2-3 month now) and a content not announced yet would be really surprising (good one. . . Even if i fear it will be another bad made content but... other matter ^^" )
He never said "won't ever" he said:Quote:

That sounds like it's unlikely but still definitely possible. Also, that was in 2015, I'm sure they've improved their capabilities since then.Quote:
Yoshida: You may have heard it in the panel but the development team is kind of hesitant on adding jobs like this so I’m kind of torn. Adding a job in a patch update is actually quite an extensive task and a pretty big endeavor but at the same time we also understand that the players were really excited and happy about a job being introduced in a patch so we would love to consider it positively but at this point we’re not able to say.
More importantly, FFXIV wants to keep players playing during the dry spell in content before an expansion's launch. I know a lot of people put FFXIV on pause during HW before SB launched because there wasn't really anything new to do for like, 6 months. A new job could help to tide people over until the new expansion comes out, plus if the job is weird/complex it'll be a good way to see how the community uses it and make changes needed.
I mean, MCH was awkward as all hell when it first came out, imagine if it had a couple months at the end of ARR for people to point out all the broken crap so it's not terrible for HW launch.
Wasn't NIN a balancing nightmare just because it was released right in the middle of the raid tier? Omegascape is over now, so there is a lot less pressure to fix it ASAP if it has glaring issues and gives people something to do.
If BLU is a Eureka thing... SE has a big storm coming.
Tide people over until the new expansion comes out? You mean tide people over for single weekend that it takes to go 50-70. Even then, it will share gear with some other role and thus gearing won't be a problem. I doubt they'd release it early only because balancing everything with a new job this late in the patch cycle is a nightmare.Quote:

I remember seeing someone leak this info that it's supposed to come out on March next year o.o
They better have the best team ever if that is indeed the plan, otherwise it'll come out looking worse than WoW's WoD...and I honestly don't think that's even possible. That date sounds...off to me though. I don't think they'd release it so fast. But then again, this is SE.
Honestly i hope not, thos SE licks annoying.
I mean as FFXIV ramps up in popularity and scale, they could be growing their team and thus push out faster expansions. Moreover, their team is getting better at understanding their own game and how to build systems and flesh out content more rapidly. That said, March still seems way too soon. May would be believable but considering how these things go, we haven't even gotten a title or a trailer, let alone interviews and decriptions of content, etc. They'd want to build hype far longer than just 4-5 months, especially since Fanfest lasts for about 3 months as they tour to NA, Europe, and Japan.
