Impatience on the Party Finder

Ok I can maybe understand when it comes to farm parties specifically,but even then it's a bit too much when someone quits as soon as ONE WIPE happens cuz mistakes will happen eventually when you farm the same boss on ex/savage.

Basically we were farming Byakko EX for mount and totem(I was a dragoon during that),we reached the seventh clear but our tank made a mistake and we wiped....and then one after the other most of the farm party quit after just one wipe with the exception of me and 3 people.

The other type is what I don't get at all.The one who joins what's clearly a practice/clear party and then quits fast.Cuz it's clear right there on the listed objective(not the requirement in yellow.....I mean objective) that the party involved will most likely involve new players learning the boss....even if it's a content not relevant anymore people need to keep that in mind and maybe try to instruct the new guy instead of remaining silent and then lashing at the new player before ditching them.

What I'm trying to say is this:

1/When you get on the party finder,try to be patient and tolerant especially on practice/clear parties and understand ahead what you're getting into before you click "join"

And 2/Relax,it's not the end of the world if one wipe happened during a farm,we're here to have fun and help each other not at a competitive e-sports match

i mean it was a 7th clear. there's not many farm parties that i've ever been in that last that long and that's with everyone on point. some of these primal fights last at least 8-9 minutes and then x7 that's over an hour straight of play. most people would want to break by that time.

They could've said guys let's take a break......and we did take breaks on more than one occasion before.We got Byakko EX easy enough that it barely took 6 minutes each round.

They could've said something other than being salty about a single wipe.

And ok that's a good enough excuse to leave a farm party if someone is tired.......but lashing on a practice/clear party that has newbies on the team who're learning the fight is a bit stupid when by all means they should know what they're getting themselves into before clicking join

Maybe they didnt want a 5-minute break but were just done for the evening - I know that I've used wipes as a point to leave before.
You're saying they were salty? But yet they didnt say anything? Or rather what I'm asking is: Did they say they were leaving because of the wipe or did they just left without a word? If its the later you dont even know if they left because of the wipe - or because they had made up their mind about doing a fixed number of runs, but didnt communicate that with the party.
Sure, a "I'm done for today, thanks guys" is always nice, but I dont see extreme saltiness in just dropping out if the party wasnt super-chatty.

Two ideas in regards to the other scenario:

1) The person who drops out right away was hoping for an easy carry.
2) The person who dropped out wanted to help with the clear, but noticed that the rest of the party was nowhere near clearing. I've joined "clear"-parties for Tsukuyomi in which people messed up positions for gun and spear. In the first phase. Several times. We wiped in the first phase in something that was supposed to be a "clear". Depending on my time and mood, I'll leave those parties - maybe not directly after one wipe, but if someone wants to clear the encounter or help with clearing it and it becomes very clear within the first few minutes leading up to this wipe that the group in question actually needs (a lot) more practise, I dont blame them for leaving.
Lashing out at them is obviously not okay, but when I join a clear-party what I should be getting myself into is a group that knows the fight well enough to reach the end. Mistakes will happen, sure thing - but if what I'm getting is a party that struggles with early mechanics, its not what I signed up for and I'll leave, telling them to be more honest about how well they know the fight and form a practise party first.

Well let me rephrase that better

I don't mean the people who leaves once they got what they want out of the farm or done for the day......I mean the people that either gives up at the slightest hint of a mistake or ones who go on chat lashing on people after one wipe before leaving....I've seen those three times when farming Susano EX,Byakko EX and Shinryu EX

As for the second bit,if someone leaves politely then that softens the blow for the newbies,but then there are the lots who play the blame game rather than just instructing people on their mistakes or just bow out politely

For farms yes dying at phase 1 is a bit too much(our tank let Hakote eat me after all xD),but for practice and clears.....some little bit of tolerance is needed if the party is willing to learn,we've all been noobs before,we've all wiped dozens of times learning EX battles before after all

For a practise party learning in phase 1 is okay and to be expected, yes.

For a clear party it isnt. Those should be people who know the fight well enough that they can actually clear it - not people who still need to practise early phases and mechanics. That isnt to say that we shouldnt have patience with people making mistakes etc. But if those mistakes are not "accidents" but the result of people not even knowing what to do, yet they kinda claimed they did by joining a clear-party my patience is running thin.

Learning - yes. But there are parties to do that: Learning and practise parties.
Clear-parties are for clearing - if someone needs more practise, its simple really: Dont join a clear-party. I dont expect people in a clear-party to be perfect, by no means. But if I notice that they lack a fundamental understanding of the fight (or worse: of their job), they have little buisness in a clear-party to begin with.

Fair enough,you got me at least on that.

But once said party got through phase 1 I think patience would help cuz by then they're almost halfway through.

Sure,you have the right to leave if people aren't willing to understand the fight especially with dozens of guides floating around the internet I get that.But at least give people at least 3 strikes before they're out....then again not everyone abide by a rule of 3

I still think they need more filters on party finders. Or just enforce the raid finder options..

Similar to the duty complete check there should be phase or clear options. If you create a clear party and select clear then only people who have say been below 10% would be able to join that party.

This is why the raid finder kind of died I think. Because people who had never entered before were able to queue raid finder as duty incomplete > clear party and waste everyones time when tgey should have chose practice. Then they complain noone uses raid finder anymore.

The other issue is the amount of players you see in a clear party who barely scrape by and get a clear and minutes later have a farm party up in party finder commonly referred to as traps more recently. Again so common that's its no wonder people bail as soon as things turn South.

If players were generally more honest i"d like to think the community as a whole would be a lot more patient with them. But when players feel theyve been lied to by someone who clearly shouldnt have joined said group it's not surprising people lose patience quickly and leave.

And then you get all the toxic / elitist comments because people leave groups after 1 or 2 wipes and wont stay to carry someone who's basically wasting everyone's time.

Oh and the other one is people not listening really wears people's patience down. Ok everyone stand in A. Not near A or around A but in A. Only for 2 or 3 people to ignore it and Then kill everyone because the circle aoe aren't stacked and players cant get out of them in time or have to move so far they lose range on the boss.

One thing I don't like is the player that when they choose to leave they have the entire party leave the dungeon (vote abandon) instead of just themselves leaving.

Oh god that.....that happened to me once on a 24 man raid where people voted abandon halfway through.....ughh

If it's a practice or clear party? A wipe or 2 is to be expected. Yes, even in a clear party. But in a clear party that's pretty much all people are willing to forgive on a good day, with good reason. Practice runs are meant to be wipes, with some forward progress. If there's no forward progress of course people will leave.


Farms are hit or miss even with a good group though. Sometimes they'll last for 3 clears, sometimes for 10. They never last forever. Sometimes people need a break, either because they've been at it awhile or perhaps they're unhappy with the drops. And sometimes they simply need to get going. Things happen.

Generally depends where those wipes occur in the fight.

People tend to be a lot forgiving and patient if a "clear party" wipes at say 5-6% than they are if a "clear party" wipes before they even enter phase 3 or die shortly there after..

When I join a duty completed and farm group then I don't accept silly mistakes.

If I join a non duty completed and practice group then I accept silly mistakes. (With the intent to improve and learn the mechanics).

Before, I got into my main argument, I wanted to say that I'd agree with you on the 7 clears (and I agree with DrWho2010) if it wasn't for the fact that Byakko is a really boring fight that takes 9-12 minutes (on content, I might be overestimating the higher end or lower end) and it has this one section that's really boring and slow in the middle. that's 1h 3m- 1h 24m not including breaks or gaps in gameplay such as pre-pull prep and re-queueing or rolling. Most people don't want to do the same fight for more than two hours. it's why some statics can't stand being stuck on a fight for more than one night. They weren't quitting because of the mistake, they were done for the night. They wanted to change to something else to make sure they didn't burn themselves out for the night or exauhst them. If you can do more than that, good for you. Put up the PF again. Don't complain when people leave after an hour to hour and a half of gameplay straight on the same fight.

If your tag is yellow, that's a clear. If you want practice, it's blue. You have no right to criticize people based off of joining a clear party and expecting a clear when you wanted practice and said it in the description and not tagging your PFs right, that's on you buddy and you will get no sympathy from me. If they're leaving because the people are new and haven't seen the whole fight then you should put up a practice/prog party. if people are leaving because of new bonus you are in the right because it is a clear party.

1) mark your PFs properly and only complain when you are 100% in the right and they are in the wrong.

2) Relax, it's not the end of the world if a group leaves after an hour. They need a break. Maybe you need one if that many people leave after an hour, go do something else and maybe have fun.

(although, I do agree with your points. You are not without critique.)

Things I noticed in Party finder line up with what you're saying. people leaving after 1 wipe for anything regardless of the party finder settings or number of clears. it's just stupid. recently running Suzaku EX shows all of these problems and I think it's the community in general. Clearly marked learning parties people leave after a single wipe that wasn't even in the first part. Farm parties leaving after 1 or 2 clears then a wipe to an honest mistake. People not actually reading the text blurb you enter then complaining about not getting to be where they called out because that's not how the group is handling it. Example: they call SE/S and the group is doing clockwise cardinals.

...did you get to that 1% enrage on your first pull?
If yes - thats pretty stupid, regardless of the group.
If not, if it actually took you several tries to get to 1% enrage, its a different story - for a farm party its unacceptable to have mutliple hiccups during just one run. Sure, they can happen, but its not much of a farm anymore if one run takes you 30-40 minutes. And quite frankly, I'd apply something similar to a clear-party - if a clear-party takes multiple pulls to just hit enrage, its not much of a clear-party. If you hit enrage on the 4, 5 or 6 pull in a clear-party, it tells me that people are still very much struggeling with the fight and that hitting enrage was maybe more of a fluke, which means that there is not gurantee that the next pull will result in people not messing up yet again.

I get that its frustrating if people leave, specially when you feel "We got it now!" but chances might actually be that it only looked that way and that people are rightfully fed up at that point because the party as advertised shouldnt be struggling this much. (again... if its on the first pull, thats especially annoying, I'll admit that - but outside of that, context is somewhat important)

Sometimes people take something like that as a "good moment" to jump ship - just how they leave after 7 kills, they might already feel like quitting after only 3, but dont just wanna leave, so they take the first sign of a problem as moment to leave the party. I sort of get it - some fights are bearable as long as everything goes smooth... for me personally thats Byakko EX - I can stand the fight, as long as it gets cleared. But the idea of just having missed out on a clear there because people werent paying attention can really kill my motivation to go on there again (specially because that motivation wasnt overwhelming to begin with).
Its not a great situation or way to handle it, but in my experience signs of problems are a good point to leave, specially when you were planning to do that after the next 2 runs anyways (and 2 more runs would have put you at 6, so a little over an hour, which seems fair enough to me for a primal-farm)
