Can we have a Kingdom Hearts collaboration before, by or after Kingdom Hearts III?
Thanks! ;)
I thought Kingdom Hearts was licensed and distributed by Disney. Did a quick search and yeah, Disney owns the franchise, sorry.
Capcom owns Monster Hunter, Level-5 owns Yo-kai Watch and both franchises were farther from Kingdom Hearts to SE yet the collaborations were done. It's a matter of decision between both sides but I would assume Kingdom Hearts is an easier matter as Kingdom Hearts is developed and co-published by SE.
A collaboration could bring gear, minions, bardings and an event. It's a different matter, as for one, I would enjoy having a cute Kingdom Hearts Heartless minion following me around. :D
It probably wouldn't take much to get KH collab started with FF XIV, but the ball would mostly be in Disney's court. SE would probably be allowed to use maybe 1 or 2 Disney characters for the right price. It'd just be a matter of whether the price would be equal to the effort needed. Either way I'd support a collab 100%.
Forget the Disney characters- I want to see Sora, Riku, and Kairi and get a keyblade.
It's possible, and also one of the most highly requested collabs alongside NiER Automata and FF XV. Wouldn't hold my breath in anticipation though- these things take a long time to do, even if the company co-owns the other franchise (XIII, DragonQuest...)
Wind-Up! Don't forget the magic word! Wind-Up Sora, Riku or Kairi and I mention the Heartless minion again. And absolute yes to the keyblade.
Assumption comes from the same reason they were easy on allowing a collaboration which created Kingdom Hearts itself and due to such a history that they already have with SE and this is something much simpler than creating a project like an entire game franchise including both Square Enix's final fantasy heroes, Square Enix created characters (Sora etc), The World Ends With You combined with Disney characters. If you still think I should assume less then I agree to disagree. No one mentioned a collaboration with Games Workshop for Warhammer or a similar situation, have we? :D
regardless of who owns it you'd better hope that they would have been working on this for at least a year because you don't just pull collabs out of a hat. KHIII releases what Jan 2019? if we don't see anything at Fanfest in Nov i would say imo that probably not gonna happen.
It could fit lore-wise into XIV. They travel to other worlds, so what's stopping them from coming to Hydaelyn? Maybe the Ascians summon some heartless or something and we have to help Sora and co. lock Hydaelyn's door thingy.
That's true, it does take a while which is why I stated "or after" in my op post but I don't view it as something that could never happen, Yo-kai Watch was and whatever games it had was around for quite a while yet the collaboration still happened and I don't think for a specific event, was it?
I like that thought.
We'll have it.
We just need to wait for another decade, a couple FF14 spinoffs to match the KH spinoffs, a lot of shuffling in dev department and lots and lots of trailers.
It'll be the best crossover since the time Aqua got norted.
Easy? You see all the hoops SE had to jump through to create KH1? How caracters interacted, how they fought, what they could wear, or the SE originals that had to fit a disney style universe. Your post should be more why they would. I can name one easy reason why it is unlikley, 14 doesn't fit the disney model. I could easily see KH in a chocobo game, a kart game, or some FF smart phone game.
Unless you are just asking for some knock off event where players can get a keyblade glamour or maybe some other non character crossover. That I could see. I figured your posts was more you wanted a solid event of at least Lightning level quality though.
Oh shoot, are the main villains of XIV not Organization XIII?
Read the posts carefully before you post. Firstly, the name of the thread starts with the word suggestion. Secondly, remember the collaborations that happened and were mentioned in posts you seem to have ignored? One of them was Yo-kai Watch, and they still managed to make a collaboration and add beautiful mounts and other stuff, now compare Kingdom Hearts to FFXIV (and all the cute stuff already in the game that are very similar to KH and the obvious art and story similarity, Ascians = Nobodies) and Yo-kai Watch, there is your why it can be and not cannot be. And thirdly no, my post should be what I want it to be and not what you think it should be.
I'd say they're way too similar. :D Every time I saw an Ascian I would remember Organization XIII, it felt very nostalgic the first time.
Can we have the dev team actually fix and work on the numerous problems within XIV first before spending time and money on another fan-service event...?
Please...?
If they spend as much time and effort as they do on fan-service, we might actually have better textures in 2018.
We have the Ascians which are quite literally the Organization XIII. Also Disney does own the licence to KH and at the very least SE still retains control over its FF characters within KH. As far as a crossover goes, the assets are already in-game. Anyone who did the DRK job quests knows about the black orbs floating in the wild and is very reminiscent of KH2: Final Mix where some of the Organization members were hidden within them. The Omega drk sword also looks like the oblivion keyblade.
Call me biased, but I don't really wanna see actual Disney characters in XIV, but the FFish ones. Instead of Donald, Goofy, and Sora, we get Riku, Kairi, and Sora. I'd even be happy with just Sora making a solo appearance. That should be easier not only because Disney Characters in XIV would be too weird, but SE owns Sora and co. or at least has more control over them.
I give up on that so I'd go for what the next collaborations would be instead. I just ignore this side of the game and after building a better PC, will start using Stormshade since according to this official post (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post1408111) it's not against the rules.
Same here, I'm more into the Kingdom Hearts exclusive parts like Sora and the others, Organization XIII, the Keyblades, the Heartless and the Nobodies than any of the Disney stuff but I'll be pleased with a collaboration that brings us from both worlds as well as long as we at least get a collaboration.
Meanwhile some people still wait for the Pso2 collaboration....
It seems to be if Yoshida has an in with someone in these collaborations. Monster Hunter and Yo-kai, he's friends with the director (MH) and creator (Yo-kai). FFXIV hired the person who created GARO to work on Ivalice bosses and paired it with the franchise for PvP gear.
Doubt it... SE seem to like doing collaboration with they mobile game first (Record Keeper, Mobius, Brave Exbious) then XV THEN XIV.
Imagine the outrage if Y'shtola or other FFXIV characters (or even Derplander himself) made it to KH3 with nothing on this game. Granted the cameos were the biggest draw for me, and hopefully it does get multi-platform releases... but Sony as of late, I have doubts.
they've outright said the PSO2xFFXIV thing was going to be one-sided. we'll never see that stuff in Eorzea.
If we got a crossover, I'd highly expect it to only involve the game's unique elements, and no actual Disney characters.
A possible snagging point is, I remember reading some time ago that Disney owns Sora while SE owns the other original characters. So including him would possibly require an extra layer of approval.
On a random but somewhat related note, has anyone else noticed that Haurchefant looks kind of like Riku?
Yes please.
Give me Oathkeeper as a RDM rapier please xD
They're not going to do a Kingdom Hearts crossover in FFXIV. If you put Capcom, Yokai, Garo, and Sega together, they'd still be a speck compared to Disney, and no company in its right mind wants Disney calling the shots on its core product.
The death of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is a pretty good example of Marvel making impossible demands and creating design limitations that doomed Capcom to failure, and Marvel is just one tiny part of Disney's golem.
We didn't even get a Final Fantasy 15 crossover. I sadly doubt that we'll see a KH crossover. It seems like SE would rather promote other people's games with XIV. The only connection to their other titles is how XIV helps pay for them.
Any of the promotional or marketing events have relied on specifically the MMO Division having good relationships with the third parties e.g. Yo-Kai watch and Monster Hunter.
I reasonably think we might get an internal licence next e.g. Front Mission or Tomb Raider
If Square Enix had better corporate management I might have had my silverballers from Hitman on my Machinist :P :( :'(
