Just a simple happy thread. Like it if you were as happy as I was to see your server did not merge with Besaid!

Was there really a need for this post? We're merging with Besaid and who ever does and doesn't RP doesn't effect me.

Agreed. 100%. Quick pro tip - The nicest, friendliest, atmospheres are always on the RP servers. I don't RP, no one I know does, hell my dad doesnt, hes in his 60s, but yet all will play on RP servers just because the mentality of the players is different which makes the server much more akin to the old online gaming scene of the early/mid 90s where everyone was helpful, kind, and nice, even when a huge screw up happens. Everything is done tongue and cheek, everything is hilarious. I remember playing WoW and I did an emote, I got 10+ tells telling me to get my "faggot ass off this server and move to the RP servers", i laughed for like a good 10 minutes at the responses I was getting. Then moved to the RP servers where it was the most fun on that game. Hell there are reasons why "Non RP" guilds form on RP servers...

IGN even did an article saying how RP servers are the holy grail of online gaming as assholes avoid them because they don't want to associate with the "uncool" RP'ers, which in the end creates an awesome community. I mean my point, and IGN's, is essentially proven with this topic - Who would want to play with someone like the TS? Not me... So thank you for not polluting the RP realms.

Besaid is an awesome server, RPers or not. So there. :p

You know people say Besaid is the unofficial RP server but I haven't seen any in quite a long time. Maybe that's because I'm not looking for it. Honestly, it seems most just keep to themselves and don't bother others. Balmung will be the same, it's not as bad as some people seem to make it out to be.

Yeah I have to agree on not getting the hate. I've been on Beseid since the beginning, don't RP nor do most of the people I know. It's never been intrusive, and no one has ever forced themselves onto us. If you like it, you do it, and if you don't it's not a huge deal. It's the easy going attitude that keeps us wanting to be on the same server.

As long as Abaddon's members don't vote against it, I'm kinda looking forward to having fun with some of the RPers from time to time.

This whole RP hate is starting to get ridiculous.

We get it, you don't like besaid, you don't like RPers, do y'all really need to post about this every 5 minutes?

+1 for starting this thread. The pro-RP side has had General spammed up for a couple weeks now, and SE needs to realize there's a good amount of players that don't want anything to do with RP'ing.

For the RPers on Besaid: Stay on Besaid. It can only profit your fantasy teaparties even more now. The fanatic RPers have given you all such a bad name and have established Besaid as the server to either flock to for RP or run from if you hate it. I foresee several players (myself included) that will be fleeing Besaid for more normal land, while RPers from other servers will most likely take our place. This is a win/win for you.

For non-RPers: It would be nice to have a demographic of servers that have the least RPing. As a previous FFXI player (and it seems FFXI had very little RP), I am looking at the Ridill server with hopes maybe the FFXI population is higher there. I am also hoping perhaps FFXI's "elite" factor has carried over to Ridill, as a majority of Besaid's players are thaums running around with vit rings and don't understand any basic game concepts at all. Hell the other day I had people shouting at me that "parses are stupid and people need to get off that shit". lolwat?

For everyone saying "lolirony these guys don't RP but they play an MMORPG": I have never liked the term "RPG", since it's obviously just a video game with a story you read like a book, you don't even play a role in it. If anything they should be called novels, as it's just a big book that you're having to complete events to get more pages of. In FFXI and FFXIV's instance, it should be called MMOG since that's more what it is. That said, many of us are angry because we want our traditional gameplay while SE tells us whatever story they have written, and here come the RPers wanting to turn the whole thing into one big LARP.
