We received news about the anticipated hamlet defense!
The development team is currently working on the hamlet defense which is slated to be released in patch 1.22. They are creating the content to allow every class, including crafters and gatherers, to be able to participate.
We will be introducing the specifics post-patch 1.21, so please look forward to it!

And when are we going to see more NA generated questions answered? Everything on the dev tracker as of late (past few months) has been heavily regurgitated info from the JP side. Which in it's self is awesome, but we have a fantastic Fan Translator who gets us the info promptly.

It is true that we never get any answer for NA/EU question at all. In fact, Dev only answer those JP forum people, and then we got the translate version paste into similar thread in NA/EU forum to answer us. Basically, we never have any answers from dev that is originally direct to our question. If JP not ask it, then NA will never hear it. This make us look like second rated customers.
But good part is that we can still give idea/suggestion and the mod will continue to ask the JP dev when it is interesting. -

Actually I think the news in this is that Hamlet defense is coming in 1.22
Yoshi P. did say it was delayed, but some thought to 1.21a, b or something, but not to 1.22. this is actually bad news if anything.
And like everyone else said, give us news about 1.21 already :) -

I believe the reason was that they wanted things to "calm down" after the server merge hoopla before posting 1.21 info. I'm not sure why this has anything to do with anything (wouldn't posting new info make people talk about that instead?), but things have certainly calmed down.

Like I, and others have said, Yoshi already made it clear that Hamlet def. was delayed until 1.22 and part of the reason was because it was to include all classes. He said that over two weeks ago.
It might be news to someone who checks the forums occasionally, but thats what the "letters from the producer tracker" and the "rep tracker" are for. To catch up.
I've already "berated" our reps for doing a poor job on reporting non-JP questions back to us. Here:

That got a quick response. Saying they try to read everything, but can't comment on everything. Which is understandable. But it's just as frustrating when you see JP questions get answered in the same week they were asked but we can go months asking a question before getting a response.
Our reps also Rep over @ FFXI, and I'll imagine they'll rep for DQX forums as well. They have a lot on their plate, but it's their job to relay info from us to the devs and from the devs to us.
They have 8 business days left to keep their projected delay of the patch. We're simply saying, We want some solid specific info on 1.21. It didn't have to be all at once, but now we're gonna get a megaton dropped on us all at once. I would have rather savored bits and pieces at a time. -

No I don't ever look at Reinhart's translation. No offence to him since he does it off his own back so doesn't have the time to go over it with a fine toothcomb, but often I have to re translate it to put it into english, so i prefer waiting for the official translation.

Make each class have one of several available roles/jobs
For Gatherer class they could have:
-A protection class that attacks enemy using tool
-A defense class that repairs the defense
-A support class that restocks crafter supplys
-A stealth class that disprupts enemy hamlet - steal supplies?
For Crafters they can create mats (obviously):
-A class to create Hamlet weaponry
-A class to create Hamlet attack or defense materia
-A class to repair Dow and Dom gear and weaponry (can repair groups or individuals with ease)
- DOW and DOM:
- A DOM that can use magic materia to attack the enemy
- A DOW class that can use Hamlet weaponry
- A DOM class that can create traps using defense materia
Also crafters get a limited supply of shared mats (think a remainder bar) and the gathers can group to get exp bonus etc while refilling the bar. -
