It's interesting how much tastes can vary. I wouldn't touch this one with a 10-foot pole D:
I think it's lovely but a bit too flashy? I feel like some heavenly NPC would wear that rather than player character.
I would like more, that the other chosen designs were put as sets of glamour for all classes. (With the permission of its creators, obviously) I would love to have this outfit or some others of all those who chose in each contest!

Good God no!!
I want this for caster (RDM in particular):

And this for healers:

And that ranged DPS winner is great on RDM.
I'm a healer main and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that set.
You guys all realize that no matter the set that wins all jobs will get it as gear. The contest is just a design idea for one "role" and a basis for all others.
I hope the artist doesn’t see this thread because y’all are being rude af.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and submitting your work to the public means that you are exposing it (and yourself) to the opinions of anyone and everyone who wishes to express how they feel about said work.
While I can appreciate the skill and talent that went into designing and drawing the set the OP linked, I can still not like it (at all) and have no wish to wear it. If it wins the art contest? Congratulations to the artist. I'll still be glamouring over it though.
#1 Keep in my that thus far the've taken all the winning designs and then augmented them for every role. So even though the contest themes were Tank Gear, Caster Gear, Healer Gear, etc... Those designs didn't end up being exclusive to those roles. So if they were to use that design there would most likely be some kind of caster/healer equivalent.
#2 They've now started implementing some of the Runner-up designs in game from the Hairstyle Design Contest.
I haven't gone back and looked over the fine print, but I'd imagine it's probably the same for each of the gear design contests too... SE reserves the right to implement runner-ups at a later date. Though I wouldn't expect to see any of the Runner-up gear designs implemented in game until 5.0.
I too was disappointing with the winner of the Healer contest. But the judges have made their decision. HOWEVER. There is a set for every role for each contest winner. I liked the bone wicca healer set and I'm stoked for both new contest winners. so there's hope still
might look nice But this game has minimal cloth physics so those side pieces will be stiff as a board
I have no hope left for SE.
The ranged winner was a classic steampunk outfit with a snazzy scarf... and it will be a white skirt/dress for healers. The melee contest winner is a tight body suit with some armor bits... that will somehow translate into a white skirt/dress for healers too. OP is at least being realistic in their request that a white flouncy outfit be given to healers.
There is some hope for diversity since the hairstyle contest runner-ups were eventually added, but since gear takes so much longer to make, I'm not sure if we'll start seeing SE draw from those contest runner-up sets.
Pretty, but not really my cup of tea tbh.
Like it about as much as like the winning melee outfits. Wouldn't be caught wearing any of them. They all lack cuteness to them.
Bonewicca and Skalla sets were saved by being dyable and being designed by an outsider (though the final version we did get wasn't to my tastes at all really, especially the fugly pants copy pasted on every male Skalla set when we could have gotten some cute shorts and thigh-high boots without chains or belts attached to them). Overwhelming majority of the other gear we get are long, white robes. And if they aren't white they're still robes that I have to glamour over.
Since these are again contest winners there is a chance we'll get something good out of it but it's safer to assume SE will find a way to give us something we've seen 100+ times before.
I'm hoping 5.0 models have a modern influence, tailored design to them. ....Just no more Alagan themed armors please ... or swimwear, we have enough swimwear already
This caster set is actually what I would love to have for my AST:

I know a lot of healers want less heels, skirts, dresses and robes, but I want more of all of those except robes. I would actually be somewhat still ok with robes if they could deviate from the current trend of flared gowns. Skirts are either too short or too long, and I think healers are long overdo for more mid-length skirts.
This was my favorite design in the contest by far, and I hope they add it sometime in the future. I'd even go into savage or PvP to get my mitts on it for my WHM.

That leaves SCH, which for a long time now I have expressed a somewhat more modern, military look for their attire and to get away from the robe-ish scholasticate designs. Something like these:

There's a couple in there I don't like much, but most are really neat, and most can be worn by male or female. The first in the top row is super cute, and I'm actually requesting SE put in-game asap! Luckily, there are some glamours currently in the game to help achieve the military look :)
