Eureka Pagos needs some rebalencing adjustments

I just recently got to 35 finally in Pagos right before the 4.4 patch came out. Now then I can finally start working on upgrading the relic weapon.

However its since the new patch came out hardly anyone does Pagos. Now I need to kill Louhi for drops to do this relic only problem is there is usually 20 or fewer people in a zone. Nobody is spawning this NM. I killed if a few times before I was 35 and didn't get any drops.

I am wanting to finish this relic up so I can work on the next part. When it comes out soon. There needs to be something done to make this easier to spawn / kill Louhi since very few people do Pagos now. I feel like I won't be able to take part in the next Eureka content because I can't get this weapon upgrade done in Pagos.

i agree but i don't think they will put any resources there. but they will once they see how few people are doing part 3 because they are stuck on 2.

The biggest needed change is to up light gains, or just give us hints on what's the best way to farm it

Lets face it the battles are not hard, the farming is what is a real pain. The highest amount of light I've seen is gentle and mainly only on Forge camp by swapping mobs that have adapted. SE I think it's about time you give us a break down of them. Your really making it a pain specially for those of us that want to do all relics. I'm beginning to think that I rather go back to FFXI relic farming than keep doing Pagos. That and perhaps it might help if bunny chest could include an item to pop fate nms instead of waiting. Or place a cool down timer on them if they have popped instead of going to a website and keep a tracker. . Just a few suggestion to fix the problem. here is another one, give some type of buff to FC's or just by wearing Eureka based gear a bonus for lights. Example' completed weapon guarantee 5% per light. All maxed out Eureka gear and wep 10% bonus to lights.

The main problem with the zone is Louhi more then light farming, light can be done with a small group Louhi can not. It is very hard to spawn and takes a large group. I am almost done with crystals but no luck getting Louhi.

I said this in another thread and I'll reiterate it here. Their best solution given how incredibly divisive Pagos was is to allow people to outright skip ahead to Pyros. Put some mobs below 35 or some other means for people to catch up and call it done. Otherwise, they will need to nerf Pagos into the ground or I fear Pyros won't fair much better by virtue of how many people abandoned Pagos and not can't progress.

Speaking for both myself and my FC, even if Pyros is literally god's gift to MMO players with the most compelling gameplay and exciting rewards to offer in the entire genre, we'll never know about it. Pagos is so awful that none of us intend to complete it, and that means that no matter how good Pyros is, it'll be dead on arrival if they don't severely nerf Pagos or allow us to skip it.

to make pagos better we need crystals to drop in higher amounts and off all mobs, more crystal drops from nms, easier/faster nm spawning. Better light drops and something better then feeble lights from everything

I can't see pyris being much better with how the logos system works it reads like early pagos but we get crystals to turn to skills from grinding mobs as well as xp. Since logos depends on that they probably won't be bringing back the train in pyros either so expect even less people to do that

If they don't want to allow us to skip Pyros entirely, I'd settle for NM's giving reasonable light gain, including NM's below your level. They can even make it slightly slower than mob grinding so people who prefer that have the option, but bringing back the NM train would at least make it bearable.

it needs to be removed. cancel the third act. give everyone refunds for anemos and pagos tbh.

I'm trapped in Pagos, that's where I have given up at level 32 and I do not want to go back. No matter how awesome Pyros may be and ground breaking the logos system is, its all DOA as only a very small percentage of the population is going to be able to go in there. If they really wanted to get people ready for Pyros, Pagos would have been nerfed incredibly but it hasn't. The only thing they have done is make the exit more visible and the message that sent was received loud and clear to the population.

This is where you exit Eureka

The only adjustment this Diadem remake needs is to be removed from the game. This is what, the fifth rehashing of it now? Every time the community has been extremely vocal about the disdain towards this horrid content. SE just doesn't give a shit at this point.

The logos system allows anyone to heal themselves and mitigate like a tank, because by the fourth Eureka you'll be alone in the instance every time.

Louhi ice will be sold for fate ice cristal just like Pazuzu feathers (300 cristal/feather).

But yeah, to actualy make it doable they should :

1. More light per fate/mob.
2. Faster fate spawn.
3. Reduce the amout of light required.

Then, people will be able to join Pyros much faster and/or go back doing another weapon with more ease. Its far too late to repair already done damage, if we have to deal with it the best solution is to make it less painfull or at least faster.

yeah give a refund on optional content, easy content such as Anemos, decently challenge content Pagos, good one lol If they only gave more info on how to get stronger lights I think would solve about 50% of the issues players are having, cut the spawn time rate of fates in Half 25% and lower the light / crystal requirements and will solve 20%, the last 5% you can't fix being is mostly delicate players that only want easy content.

The grind is what really needs to be fixed. I did 1 weapon and left and my alts haven't made it past lvl 21. There is no way I am going to farm more dragons for more weapons.

In the previous expacs I had done at least 5 relics on my main and at least 1-2 on alts and even in xi I did 3 relics, 2 mythics and a bunch of empy and this still just made my soul hurt.

They wanted to pay homage to xi but they took the worst elements they possibly could have from xi to do so. Things they even got rid of in xi itself because they were so bad.

I'm surprised they didn't just go ahead and throw in the fatigue system from v1 while they were at it. For the love of all that's good, they really need to play their own game with GM mode turned off or at least make test servers.

Go full XI and let us buy the currency used to upgrade relics, would be nice for XIV to actually have something to spend Gil on for a change... We already have Speed Belts/etc. costing millions on the Market Board, might as well slap Frosted Crystals in there too...

Jokes aside, I wouldn't mind it if the Potion of Harmony was given some actual value... +3% EXP is worthless, but making it work like the Anemos Crystals in giving you a small random number of Pagos Crystals + rarely some light for the Frosted Crystals? Well now, suddenly Bunny FATEs, or rather the Bronze chests you'll only ever see, are worth peoples time... Even just having the potions boost current light yields would be a vast improvement, IDK what SE was thinking when they designed these potions, would have been so much simpler to just allow Foods EXP bonus to work for Elemental EXP... Heck now that I think about it, those Free Company EXP buffs could be pretty damn nice if they actually applied to Eureka...

Yep Pagos is still terrible. I went in for 2 mins and turn off the game to watch Netflix and was so happy. Pagos is so bad even when it was new, and Pyros just sounds terrible. And the cherry on top is the relic getting randomized substats is the nail in the coffin making it glamour or skippable all together. Just glad I have plenty of Doggos to can’t after.

Aren't substats secondary to ilvl and main stat anyway? Even if you don't get your idea substats a ilvl 400 weapon or whatever we end up at in Pyros will be nothing to sneeze at.

Anyway, while I didn't mind Anemos much once I got some momentum I hated Pagos much more. My issues mostly boil down to two things.

1. Overall map design is annoying. That central canyon where you have to slow walk past the dragons etc. The cliffs. The fact the NW aetheryte ought to be like level 25 or 27 given the level range of NMs in that area. The map and layout are a pain, and this time no mount until level cap.

2. Light grinding. Okay so you want us to have to do soemthing besides Lou a couple times once we hit level capt to get our relic, fine, but filling up the bar 31 times feels excessive.

If they give Pyros a better laid out map and cut down on the light grind I'll be much happier. As it is I'm starting to regret committing to the SB Relic.

Dont know what data center or what times you are on but I'm on the Aether data center - Zalera and at pretty much any time of day I go into Pagos its anywhere between 75 - 130 people in the instance. That includes last night when I logged in at 11:30pm and played up to 1:30am. I get the hate on for it being the "only" way to get the relic but it is the reason people are and will continue to do it, even if they hate it.

That last fact is what I hope SE takes away from this endeavor. If you really want to get players to do a piece of content you MUST have a reward thats worth getting. Because if the reward is good enough then people will do content they despise. Its much easier to do that than to get people to do good content with shitty/useless rewards.

Pagos just having the weapons also feels a bit odd.

Now, I know they can only add so many new armor models to the game. But having the upgraded and ultimately dyable af3 gear in Anemos helped to make it more rewarding. It wasn't JUST for weapons but also a good source of 350 gear helped for me to justify its existance.

But entirely new zones, elemental leveling system, magecite system etc all just for relics? I feel like the resources spent on Eureka would have been better spent being poured into other areas of the game instead of just for relics.

In general the element system has been kind of a wash. You just spin the wheel to what you're fighting is weak to and nothing changes gameplay wise.

I'm on Aether too and I generally tend to see under 50 ppl in an instance at most times since 4.4 unless its peak hours. So idk if I'm just getting newer instances or what but 75+ ppl only happens during peak times. My roomie went in a couple hrs ago and there were only 42 ppl in the zone and some had been in there for an hr. And that's kindda been the norm since the patch. I have even gone in to a zone of 20-something ppl who had less than 100 minutes left. So something is wonky there.

There was a huge drop when the patch hit but it seems like people are starting to trickle back into Pagos, though it feels like not as many as there were pre patch still.

Or they can make good content with good rewards and not try to force people into garbage. Your philosophy only works for so long. If content continues to miss the mark, people will abandon it no matter what you put in there. Look no further than PvP. They've desperately tried to bolster activity, even putting in exclusive mounts—the only piece of content in the game where rewards are actually exclusive. It's still been more or less a failure.

Not necessarily. For example, Dragoon BiS actually uses two i380 crafted accessories because it breaks thresholds. Well that, and Skill Speed is more or less a dead stat above 655 unless you reach 2,405.

Keeping with Dragoon. The tome weapon is Direct Hit/Determination. Therefore, unless I get Crit main, the relic isn't going to touch the tome weapon. Regardless, it takes significantly less time to obtain what may be a superior weapon. That's why people have been so uppity about the relic outside of poorly designed Pagos is.

Absolutely agree! Both of those things make a great game and are needed to have a long lasting product. What I was meaning by that is SE really is awful at rewarding their players in any meaningful way in this MMO. They have "some" content that is fun an engaging but it is not long lasting without their forced extensions (Weekly lockouts). Its truly disappointing to see the back catalogue of content and ideas as a company, let alone as FF, and then look at FFXIV and think, this was the best and most engaging thing they could come up with?

Bah, I'm starting t ramble and get all over the place. Rewards vs content vs customization is a huge topic and one I'm passionate about. I honestly dont see any meaningful changes coming until the next Dalamud to hit eorzea and wipe the slate clean, but they will never do that a second time.

It should be adjusted out of the game.

If they made it to where could trade in crystals from nm's there like can in the first Eureka for other type of crystals. I would be there a lot more. They also need to make item drops from nm's way higher chance and increase the chance of getting rare items from loot bags and chests. That be the only way I would go back to that boring place.

I think Pagos is a lost cause and the devs know it. Hopefully there working on some sort of bypass to allow people to skip it. If not, then hardly anybody will see this great new content the devs are saying is coming. The Logos system and the final part of Eureka where they said will be like a massive open world dungeon will all be for naught.

Maybe a streamer will show us what it’s like if they can muster enough players.

Assuming it's an amount that actually makes a difference.

Unless the NMs now give an amount where it's viable to farm the thing through them alone, I don't know how much it'll help. Correct me if I'm wrong, but any other method is gated behind RNG, no?

I entered a full instance yesterday
Still plenty doing it since light is more generous
Really just needs NM to drop more crystals

I have to agree with duskane on that one. I go in a few times a week and it is usually 70+ people and maxed during peak time. Before and after the patch. It is actually better now primarily because the max level dragon farmers are actually killing lower level NM's due to the higher light bonus.

The only part that sucks is the leveling, pagos crystal farm, and how long it takes to spawn Louhi.

I was thinking it would be better if chain 10, 20, 30 gave guaranteed light to increase the reliable RNG-free progression methods, and for chain time limit to be longer so it's more realistic to reach chain 30 when solo or in a light party. Then light grind would not be so bad even if there's hardly any people around to help.

The best adjustment to Eureka would be to delete it entirely.
