What is with people?

So after doing 1 run of alphascape v3.0 and we all wipe after the first round, and next thing you know i'm dismissed from the duty along with this message.

I've actually been rather hesitant myself to jump into the Alphascape fights. From the forum stories and in- game comments, people seem far less forgiving with this content despite the fact it is now only a week old.

That's actually worse than some of the abuse I've gotten from other games in the past. Report them for harassment and keep on being you, the only bad player here was the jerk who said that.

I would definitely report them if i were you. This is the kind of attitude and childishness that ruins the experience others have on the game, and we don't want that here in ffxiv. If they want to act that way they can go play neverwinter or tera where that kind of over the top toxicity belongs, NOT on our wonderful game. At least if a GM see's it as enough of an offense to warn them or suspend/ban them then it's enough to help thin the game of these terrible people. Anything to make our community a better place helps. I am amazed someone that is this far into the game is stupid enough to say something like that in chat in the first place.........i mean its OBVIOUS that saying something like that can get them a nice quick port to GM jail and an uncomfortable conversation with a GM about what they did/said.

Report and go on.
Jerks are like weed, you can't get rid of them just hold down their population.
Do your part by reporting such behaviour.

It reminds me of League of Legends when people shit talk each other of getting cancer, "bot player", play like shit, even death threat and got no punishments or just chat-restrict punishment, but a "kys" can get your account banned. How are those above aside from "kys" not offensive, and if reported, why are they not punished as severed as how they call people to "kys"?

nah, action will be taken. harassment / vular language is the one thing the GM's are actually quick to punish. That person definitely deserves it.

Sometimes you will meet ppl who think that they are world champions in playing FF14 and you are not worthy to be with them in the group for doing mistakes here and there.

You did right in reporting that a-hole. And SE is right in dealing with these swiftly, for when a community goes toxic it is really difficult to turn it around.

Boy that person is an idiot for putting that in party chat because that's totally reportable. Classic harassment and abuse of the vote kick system. Glad you reported them.

I hope you reported them all. Ones like that shouldn't be playing online games with other.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but harassment that I have seen so far has not been as serious as some death threats and name shaming on other communities. But still, I don't understand why people want others to "git gud" when most players are casual ones.

Watch a PLD-Guide and learn to play your Job, then such things won't happen to you anymore :)

Is it ok if I don't watch videos but I intimidate other tanks I played along before and get good from that?

So far I have not seen any guide videos at all.

I wish people were more willing to give actual advice and constructive criticism lol.

Then again I also wish more people in DF were willing to receive advice and constructive criticism.

Honestly, i would agree as well that you should report them all, because this has become a trend lately with elitist folks in the community, that if you don't get mechanics right away or watch youtube guides like they say, they will punish you for no reason, when they literally did it brand new like everyone else and had to learn it, it's become quite toxic and i hope these folks get an example made out of them.

They were terrible and should have booted you without saying anything if they wanted you gone, but I have to admit I wonder just how poorly a run went to see what caused that much mad

If you don't want to watch a guide, clear it in the first wave. That's not elitist to expect, that's expecting everyone to do their part.

You don't show up a week late after all of these resources are available and expect someone that's been farming it all week to want to carry. You don't ever show up for a party expecting a carry, no matter what content you're queueing for.

..are we literally talking about carries in casual content? Are you going to require people to watch videos before doing guildhests now?

Sorry, a guildhest or a low level dungeon isn't the same thing as anything at cap.

I dont think scaring or threatening other tanks will really help that much. But you could try copying them and see how that works.

OP - Yeah, sorry you got paired with some jerks. One thing that isnt(and couldnt possibly be) clear from the pic is whether they tried to offer any advice/explain mechanics at all during the fight. If yes, it isnt a bad idea to try to incorporate that new info into your tactics while the fight is ongoing - easier said then done, but in some of these fights the right tactic can mean the difference between an easy clear and a painfully drawn out slugfest.

I'm pretty good about figuring it out on the fly, not that any of the normal stuff has been all that difficult.

That was rude and uncalled for, as others have already said definitely report them there's no excuse for that period.

First of all that is uncalled for. If you reported you did well. That sort of behaviour should not be allowed. I have never and would never treat a player like that.

I have been in the receiving end in the past and normally I end up having a "laugh" with the "aggressor" after exchanging a few lines of dialogue. I find its all about communication and not taking everything serious, especially not on the internet.

But i want to say again. That was bad, people should not treat each other like that.

I wonder if the OP joined a PF instead of the DF? Seems a little harsh for DF/normal mode and normally you have to VTK in the DF right?

Not excusing the social retard at all, But if it was a PF then yeah they are going to have higher expectations.

Sorry to hear about that but it's just another day in an MMORPG: if anything you have a good reason for report and get some vengeance - I mean punishment given to them, but I recommend moving on and just forget about it.

You'd lose too much sanity if you think about it too much.
