something a bit sad about the loot of the 4.4 dungeon

i want to point something out, something that i found shamefull from SE part. since it did happend a bit too often in stormblood.

the reuse of the skin for the armor that we can get from dungeon....

i found it sad to reuse the same skin from old dungeon without even give us the right to dye them... and sadly it did happend quite often recently.

reuse skin from previous dungeon is not by default a bad idea, if that bring something new, in this case, the capacity to dye it. but here is not the case, and it's sad. skin from dungeon expert are often one more reason to run them. if you don't work on them it's sad.... and kinda shamefull, because in the end we do have 3 new skin and the crafted one is really a bad example, since many class share the same skin with different color.

the true endgame is the glamour is a truth that SE can't ignore, if you don't bring more skin in the game, people will not play a lot, and it can be feel since it can be hard at some hours to found people for simply run the expert, because when they have finish to do them cap they have no incentive reason to run it.

first because of the skin and second because of the ilevel that is far to low. at the start of a tier, the dungeon must give the same ilevel than the previous low ilevel of memoquartz, for help player to catch up. they will have 2 way to get new gear and more choice. by example instead to place i 355 gear inside the dungeon it will have been better to add 360...

but that my thought, my own personal thought about this.... i simply hope that when i go into a new dungeon i can found new skin into it, for give me more drive to run this dungeon over and over and over. because soo far this expansion skin was the weakest that we had.... outside scala and the i340 we had really weak skin in dungeon and memoquartz, i hope it will change, because right now is really not that good.

I don't mind reuses here and there. If done TOO often then sure, but now and then it doesn't bother me. It would be nice if it was at least dyable, I agree, but it doesn't really bother me when we're getting new raid gear, new tome gear, and (I think) new crafted gear, correct me if I'm wrong and the crafted gear is also recycled this time.

I don't think a lot of people really care what the dungeon gear looks like, because most people run around glamour'd anyways. Especially the "girls" I see running around in their bathing suits full-time.

Now, as a minor caveat, I've done that once or twice too, but I also do other stuff, like my biker gear getup.

What is sad to me that never see any caster gear other than ring and necklace drop from them.

Reusing gear models has been a thing for a really long time now. The i380 crafted gear is literally just the Doma Castle gear.

Archaeoskin crafting/gathering gear? Just the i70 Hussar set with a different colour and function. i133 crafted gear is just the i100 gear from Wanderer's Palace and Keeper of the Lake with a new colour and being meldable. Even the i90 crafted combat gear is just a colour swap version of the stuff from Brayflox normal.

Uhm... Not sure about other classes, but for mages, they are definitely not the modelsof Doma Castle Gear.

Doma Castle Gear is, iirc, the same model as the first Heavensward Tome Gear, Yasha/Doman.

Yeah this is correct. The only difference being is the Yasha/Doman gear can be augmented allowing you to dye them, so I could never understand why SE needed to introduce an alternative to this gear in a fixed colour (from Doma Castle). Granted the HW ones require Centurio Seals compared to the others being dungeon loot but I suppose they just thought it was fitting for the location eh. Still it would of been nice if to Filabuster variants from the new dungeons were dyable....

Nothing new here. Any game of note will do the same thing, including the game-that-shall-not-be-named, much WoW. Only difference is said game has been around so long that there's just more wardrobe options by default, yet even then the amount of recycled gear will make you cringe. Go to any PvP vendor and you'll see one season almost immediately followed by another that simply provides last season's gear with a new colour. Same for dungeon difficulties and older gear being remade as common drops in later expansions.

I'm fine with it in general, provided it is done in moderation. The saving grace is that you can at least colour (most) things over here.

I just went by the PLD stuff and DRK weapon because I have no need to memorize the model of gear from a million years ago, but this does nothing to refute what I said. Models are being reused as they have been for a long time, it doesn't matter where the model is from.

i love that helmet thats on caster/ninja
i wish it was for machinist though be so fitting
