unable to complete version check [30605] [504]

This morning at about 7:15am EDT I tried to launch the game and got this error. unable to complete version check [30605] [504]. I rebooted my machine and tried again, same error. I checked forums for updates and did not see any with this error. I turned off my Antivirus prog and tried again, same issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and same issue. Maintenance began at 3:00am PDT, which is 6:00am EDT. The game was already down at the time you tried to launch it.

I'm getting those errors when opening the launcher and being down for maint doesn't usually prevent the launcher from opening. Maybe they had to take down an additional server for part of the update today and thats causing the issue.

In the maintenance notificatikn they said they were taking down the patch server and that it would produce errors. They also gave us a time to expect the patch server to be back up and working.

It's still for everyone right? Despite the message saying it was back up about a hour ago?

The lodestone issue is separate from this. This is a planned outage that will probably keep the launcher servers down for another 12 hours or so.

Please tell me that the 24 hour period isn't accurate. It's my birthday, I got the day off from work, and planned on sitting on my butt playing FFXIV all day. :(

For main patches, it will likely be the full 24 hours (4.4 is a main patch with lots of new content coming). It may end an hour or two early, but I would expect the game to be down the entire day. Main patches usually take the entire maintenance duration compared to hotfix patches or sub-patches, which maintenance may end early.

Reading is apparently hard for me this morning. Thanks for clarifying.
