Wish Squads could do more than dungeons

I would love to do some 8 man stuff with my squad. Especially abandoned stuff like Diadem and some of other content. Potd might be nice option too since i can't ever find a team to go to 200 with that doesn't give up after first night of runs. I love playing with other people but i do like running things with my squad too. :D

If I could take them with me into Eureka I'd be super happy.

I’d love to be able to take them into the open world to do FATEs, I was trying to beat some super boss FATEs but no one ever does them anymore and I alone am not enough to kill it in time, with my squad I could probably take them.

I would like to take them into all of savage and ultimate raids. Surely it can not be so hard to program them to do all the strats perfectly ? Plus it would solve the problem of parsers and fflogs freaks yelling at you if a successfull attempt take ten seconds more than the last one, and rosters would not be disbanding/going into temporary inactivity anymore when one of their member unexpectedly stop connecting, or when not finding one or several last needed members.

Please SE, make it happen.

If they enable them in savage ... doing everything perfect that would kill raiding lol. Why bother finding a team if you could have your squad ... a lot of savage difficulty is finding a team or likeminded players.

And to have them in ultimate doesnt even deserve a comment. At that point you are playing a single player game.

Hopefully in the next expansion they might do arr raids but I doubt it and for open world content, would be nice but they ain't gonna do that as it would put new players at a disadvantage (imo that is probably what they would say)

Now this is what I call a good suggestion. Ideally, scrapping dead content and replacing it with something new and better would be nice but not realistic. Other thing I'd honestly like to see is using squads as a way to expand on GC centric storylines and quest. If the WoL is going to be used for political wars anyways, why not shed more light on GC of choice and potential squad history?

thanks! I don't want them to do everything just mostly obsolete stuff. the suggestion for the fate bosses is great idea. There are a few i missed and i cannot get them completed. DrGonzo I don't think the squad would be good at carrying. They are such idiots in some dungeons. The boss the end of WP is a good example. So easy with real people and i have quit that dungeon almost every time because my squad just can't get it right. :D

The best application of the Squadron is simply any 2-8 player content, but with various imposed limitations. eg, No Unsync, being able to script or macro the squad's skills so that you're not stuck with the squad tank standing in bad all the time, etc. Literately being able to write a script of "when boss does <action> move to x,y (relative or absolute)"

The solution to most "the squad is too dumb" presently is to keep clicking the actions, or to go in as SCH/SMN and use the pet as an aggro magnet. Basically you tell the squad to go to X, put the pet there to either heal or fight, and then stand farther back and tell the squad to stand down so they "pull" the boss towards the pet, the pet's take aggro, and then tell the squad to go back into action. Then you do any other action required, because the squad will never do the mechanics.

I think it's better to keep Squadrons out of mechanics-heavy stuff. But assisting with dead FATEs, Eureka, hoh etc - essentially as a chocobo companion+ - is something I'd like to see. Doesn't require SE to do tons of scripting and put together skynet levels of AI. But helps people complete some things that don't have a duty finder, get left behind by the community, or otherwise tend to be a bit soloist.

They could be used for most/all of the lower level stuff AND give another incentive to do content by implementing the gambit system from FFXII. No need for high-level AI on them either at that point. Just give them a basic AI...(so basically don't change anything...) and let the players do the "programing". I mean, we ARE technically their superiors and they ARE part of our squad to learn how to tackle the highly difficult foes that we trounce.

However extreme/savage/ultimate should not be in any way accessible with squads, EXCEPT for training. No experience, no drops, no kill counts. Just have them do the fights properly (including reviving the player if he/she dies) so that the player can actually see WHAT to do and how, removing the random element of humans.
