Grand Company Turn in. Reset an hour early today...

And everything is already full.

So normally on Sundays, the GC turn ins reset an hour from now.

Today they reset 7 minutes ago.

W.T.F.

It took a handful of people camping the NPC with full inventories of the requested items to screw over our server.

Its already hard enough to turn in the items with the cap you imposed,

Today they filled up in the first 2 minutes because rather than a random selection of items to turn in, people figured out that they are on a 9 week rotating list.

Uncap it, make it randomized,

It was the same time as normal... o.O And I maxed out my seals today. Once I did, I sold the rest to my fellow Maelstrom folks and made a million gil in 30 secs.

Who's genius idea was it to not at least randomize it?

Istory has nothing on Mysidia, some of quotas filled out in less than one minute.

I camp the high value, high quota bonus items, :D

Quotas on my server aren't even 50% reached. They never are usually. Today there were a few people doing Electrum Rings in the Adder's Nest but now there's nobody and I'm the only one turning them in .... 1080/2500

This system could learn a thing or two from ff11's guild points system, and by that I mean give every player their own individual quotas rather than allowing the entire server to do so.

Even if there was a personal limit and server limit... so if there was 5000 limit and each person had a 100 limit, 50 people could get to turn in items for this. This is really an issue. I could not be on for company time turnover and now the items are capped. I'm stuck with these extra items, I guess they are npc trash.

This is something that needs to be fixed.

3 of the quotas maxed out in less than a minute, everything else was pretty much maxed by the end of half an hour. I luckily got enough seals to get my two rings though.

I dont think the fact that there is a quota system is the issue. The biggest issue here is that this system is literally the only way to get a decent amount of seals without spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to get them. The other methods involve spending 15-20 minutes to get a minimal amount of seals. This has caused everyone to jump onto the bandwagon to turn crap in. Even if you do hit the cap, if you come prepared you can still walk away with around 2-3k seals. This would take, if ytou were doing leves, on average about 6 hours to get. 6 hours of pretty much just standing there one shotting weak mobs and waiting for them to respawn.

Okay, okay... Anyways, yeah... I wake up 3 hours early, make sure I get there in time with all my items. Then low and behold, there is a huge mass of people! Now I got lucky! I managed to trade in and get a whopping 12 seals! 12 freaking seals, gaiz!? AWESOME!

Then it hit me... Why am I wasting my time getting up so gosh darn early? I could of just went to treespeak and did some GC leves and I probably would of had around 5,000 or 7k seals by then. Simply, put... I was outraged!!

Then I told myself, "Forget it, make a sandwich and everything will be okay."

...till next week when it all starts over again.

It's working fine the point is to fight with other players for a slot at getting item in. I know how pain in the ass this could be but still i think it's fine there other way for you to get seals SE just need to release more and this wont be a issue at all.

I agree that the concept of competing with other players in order to get seals is nice, but it's just clearly broken if the fight itself lasts a bunch of seconds per week...
The thing just isn't balanced, if they wanna keep the server quotas they have to either increase them or lower the reset timer.

Lower the reset or give more is the best way or set a limit per person.

So what's the exp and gil reward like? Is it good? Not that I'm going to do it since my crafting classes are pretty low level right now.

Rewards kinda depend on the item value. Whatever though, as many have already stated, this isn't so much different from how FF11's guild shops worked. Be grateful for that. As for alternatives, maybe daily item turn ins, or, move the turn in time up by a few hours so it's not always 11pm JST, and right when I'm driving home from Sunday Mass - .-.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but are you saying we should be grateful that this system works similar to FFXI's broken guild shop NPC setup? Be grateful that it is similar to camping NPCs for mats, while RMT and alts suddenly login seconds before the stores open to grab up all the cotton bolls?

Please tell me that I misunderstand what you are getting at, because both systems are horribly flawed. The only reason XI doesn't catch serious flak for it is due to it not taking a whole week to reset.

Maybe you wouldn't be so poor and like it better if you were making gil by selling those items people want for seals. Fail to economy much?

Just turn it into personal quotas that way everyone has a chance. This way we can prepare ahead of time by knowing what the week will have, the quota can be lowered a bit so we don't seal overload, and the economy can still gain the benefit of having something to sell every week.

Because we all know rich people are the bullies, buying everything on the wards and nobody actually farms those items. Right!?

I have 270mil and I don't buy a single thing on the wards.

I farm it all.

Hence why I have gil.

This isn't just punishing rich people, this system punishes everyone. I farmed every single mat I intended to turn in. I didn't buy a single item. Yet I still got the shaft due to the poorly designed system.

Let me guess, you also look down on people buying dynamis currency to complete relics in XI? And also look down on people paying for rare/ex drops?

Maybe we should just take gil out of the game since acquiring anything with some good hard-earned gil is just bad?
