I think I can reasonably argue that HOUSING is the real end game since it's just as costly as glamour...
What are your thoughts on this?

Yes , of course.
It's not about how much it costs, it's about how much you enjoy doing it.
Glamour is definitely my endgame. I'm not that creative with designing house layouts, but I can spend ages mucking about with the marketboard and other vendors and occasionally grinding dungeons desperately for something I really really wanted.
Yes, whats the point in sprucing up my house and doing high-end raids if you don't look fabulous while doing so?
I mean I can understand the desire to express your uniqueness and creativity through outfits but... What about housing? It serves the same purpose really. Games like these are about self expression and YOUR HOUSE is an excellent vessel for self-expression.
I dabble in both glamour and housing. (having a small plot in the Mist) I enjoy glamour a bit more since I can always adjust it with not issues; whereas sometimes items in houses move when you reload in. This is more true with the wall sections when I try to divide up a space... it's almost always a few pixels. Enough to bother me.
What about people who can't get a house? What's their endgame? Glams can be anyone's endgame at any time.
I mean, you have apartments and FC rooms, but its unlikely you will receive many visitors to see your work, honestly same with most normal housing really, most wards are empty, not that many people will be looking around at peoples houses. With glamour, you can show it off to anyone anywhere.
/gpose is the new meta actually.
what's the point of glam if you can't competently show it off!
Glamour is also seen by a lot more people. People only see your house if you show pictures or they happen upon it while running through any one of 112 housing suburbs. Anybody you party with, even cross-datacentre, will see your glamour.
We all know the truth that RP is really what all end game builds up to.
The endgame is whatever you make of it. No one aspect is better than the other. Achievement farming, pvp, raiding, craftng/gathering, etc. Do what you like, you don't need validation to enjoy the game.
Yes because think about it. You do all the grinding to obtain a piece of gear right, and how cool it looks. However new content comes out and that grinding gets replaced with a new grind.
But then it makes you think.... Why do the content in the first place. Because the gear looks cool and you can always just GLAMOUR it. Thus making GLAMOUR the true never ending end game.
BiS gear gets outdated. Relics get outdated. Dungeons and raids get outdated. Glamour is forever.
If it is they should make glamour styles collectable, like other games, rather then having to take up space in one inventory or another.
Guess that means I beat the game years ago~
Stats and iLvl last months at the most, hours at the least. But a great outfit lasts til the end of the game.
Yess,
Mogshop is Pay 2 Win confirmed.
They even have housing items!
For me clearing content is the end game. Do I clear ultimate because it bring me slightly better weapons or glamour? No, I cleared it because I wanted experience the fight. Experience is that what stay. Glamour get outdated and boring too, if you keep too long same glamour. Ofc it is nice to look at pretty girl character in game with different glamour options and have funny mounts with various sound options, but that is not main reason why I play the game.
Glamour is the endgame because at the end of the day, if you're not rocking that Taffeta set as you stare down primals and psycopathic imperial rulers, you're not doing it right.
The players that glams together, slays together. Stay stylish my friend.
end game is what you make of it
Glamour is the true endgame, and housing is just another kind of glamour, obviously.
It definitely is! Glamour is my main fuel when it comes to doing content. And to leveling tons of alts *shot*
Considering glamour is widely seen as the endgame, I'm baffled they made such a mess of the glamour wardrobe. Limited to 200 slots, clunky to use, while WoW has unlimited space for virtually every glamour in their game in their tmog tab.
Not copying WoW's tmog tab was a missed oppertunity tbh. People love collecting things. If looting a piece of gear added its appearance automatically to your wardrobe, everyone would be out running old content and dungeons and collecting all the available sets. Add a few achievements with a title or two and a nice glam set for collecting a certain number of appearances and you basically create content.
Iam still waiting they day i can glamour outside my class equipment. As a healer, i really want to have a PLD or at least DRG armor on my body, iam really itching that heavy armor healer look
My glamours get outdated on a nearly weekly basis. All it takes is a new drop that catches my eye, and I'll put together a new outfit around it. Even without a newly acquired piece of gear, after a couple of weeks I will start to think my look is getting stale and start going through all my things to piece together a new outfit. If glamour plates were infinite, I would probably have anywhere from 40-50 by now.
And I don't even level DPS jobs. If/when I do that, it's going to open up a myriad of new glamours to look into!
An obvious oversight, for sure. I think SE totally underestimated exactly HOW IMPORTANT this is to a lot of players. However, the current glamour system is definitely a step up from where we were prior to its implementation. I just hope they haven't brushed it aside. We've had how many patches now since the new glamour system? I believe the only update we've received is we can restore items placed in the dresser, and having dressers placed in squadron racks. It's still the same number of plates and slots. I feel these numbers should be increasing with every patch.
Oh you cant forget microtransactions now too
Nah, glamour is not the true end game... it is definitely up there on the list with inventory management.
Real final end game is Godbert, Hildibrand's father. I have been calling it for a few years now...
Speaking of which, is there a "show your glamour" thread?
