Hello everyone.
I did not want to post on the post from Atma/Gugnir ("Leaders of Lindblum" ) because I am no LS leader but here is my though on the server choice:
We know the new world will get the names from the 10 current top populated worlds.
If you check world population on pads ( the only statisitc at our disposal, mine at least) the top ten worlds are :
Besaid 1164
Lindblum 1153
Rabanastre 1126
Selbina 948
Trabia 864
Saronia 789
Bodhum 624
Wutai 478
Figaro 471
Cornelia 415
Mysidia is very close to Cornelia with 412 players registered on pads
Among those 10 Lindblum is the fifth alphabeticaly sorted (from A to Z)
So unless SE end up sorting world from Z to A, or by world population ( quite likely too), we should all go to world 5, hoping for it to become the new Lindblum.
Problem is if Mysidia does have more players than Cornelia, or if pads numbers are not accurate (but what can we do about it) we are screwed and we might end up in Figaro for example (not a bad choice imo, but that is another debate).
This methode is not perfect but gives us a little more chance to be in Lindblum again, for those who cares.
Let try to go to new Lindblum. Choose server 5.

My problem with this is it is just players registered on pads, that is not true statistical information by any means for server population, but its valid for XIVpad population. Because I personally know most of the people in my ls's are not on XIVpads. Just if you were to submit this website as actually statistics on server pop it would fail according to statistical standards. I mean its a sample, but its a voluntary sample. and there are two threads about selbina being 5, so you can duke it out with those two threads.

I totally agree on that one and my assumption is purely based on the fact that pads statistically represents world population.
As I said not a bullet proof method, but.....
We have to pick a number, might as well try to increase our chances, even by a little.
And even if you do not consider pads number just by alphabet, Lindblum is statically more likely to be world number 4, 5 or 6. ( being the 10th of the present servers).
And unless you want to avoid Japanese players, I would advise against world 4. -

Yoshi-P specifically mentioned gysahl and selbina as being some of the most populated worlds, so I think it's safe to say that pads is not really a reliable source for server populations unfortunately.

I think pads is a site used primarily by EU and NA players, so probably the numbers are skewed to reflect the highest populations of those groups. Basically pads numbers excludes JP from the population. So if you don't care about playing with JP then use pads numbers.

In any case, server 5 appears to be the massexodus of choice.
We should watch the other world boards though to make sure no other high pop worlds choose server 5. -

A number close to the middle seemed a god choice to me in order to try and augment our chance to end up in Lindblum again, because whatever the real numbers are, Lindblum is one of the top 10 (otherwise merge world would be quite crowded).
But it would be nice if the leaders of our main LSs could reach a covenant on the server number, like this we could in a way say to the other high pop world "okay guys this is gonna be new lindblum, if you are in a high pop world better avoid it" rather than wait and be left with the leftovers^^. no pressure guys ^^.
Our primary goal is, I think, to be all together again, or at least most of us. If picking server 5 goes against that then I say screw 5 and lets go to whatever number suits our needs. -

By the looks of it, Selbina has adopted the 5elbina idea,
and given their population, that would be a conflict.
From my quick look around, they are not the only ones...
So perhaps Server 1 would actually work.
Also, Yoshi claims that SE has not yet decided which server gets which name.
In this case, one would think SE will then name whichever server we migrate to, Lindblum.
Probably going to need to see where things settle over the next couple days though. -

Yeah I though of that too Nefario, that SE would end up calling the server after the majority of players that moved to it.....
Concerning the "already decide" thing for selbina and others, I have been looking at other worlds forum too, and having 10 maybe 20 replies on a post for 5elbina does not make it an adopted idea imo. Although the all 5elbina, 6yshal, 7rabia, 8esaid idea does seem to have run all over the forum somehow.
The rp going to server9 and 8esaid are contradictory too. -
