Why mount from Rathalos EX??

I was hype for Monster Hunter World come in ffxiv.

Enjoyed new mount. When see in-game and very disappointed.

Scales+ from extreme for Rathalos mount.

Since I don't person for extreme. I alwasy wanted this mount so bad....
I'm very scary in extreme.... Thank you SE for bad idea.

Sounds to me like you're just not good enough to get it.

High end content needs its incentives as well. EX primals and savage mode raids offer mount rewards, so it's rather consistent from SE.

You only have yourself to blame if you don't feel like doing extreme content.

As an added note, this content is a permanent addition instead of a limited time one.

Unsync it at 5.0 like the rest of us plebs

Yeah! How dare they lock a mount exclusively behind the harder version of a trial! It's not like they've done this for every EX since the ponies in ARR or anything, right?

Just que up in duty finder or join a learning party. No ones gonna shout at you for dying.

I find the EX version hard on my eyes so I may be taking my time farming it, personal problem, but I can still complete the EX version just fine after putting in the time and effort to learn it.

If I can do it I am sure you can do it? So it seems to me you are giving up without even trying.

Get fellow players to learn the fight with you and practice.

This EX is technically easier than the others, it is a shorter fight by about half (if you run the basic setup of 1 tank, 1 healer, and 2 DPS), and the mount is actually easier to get (50 clears instead of 99). If you get unlucky and not win a lot on one dropping from the box that is.

It's an interesting fight for sure, since the boss has no "tells" and you have to watch his movements -- like a real hunter taking down its larger prey.

Since it doesnt have a hard ilvl sync. Come this time next year or even at 4.5 it should be alot easier. At 5.0 it will be a cake walk and you should have the mount no problem.

I want to live in whatever world you live in. People get kicked or someone votes to disband after one wipe even in easy content. If all people were really that nice no one would be afraid to play with strangers.

But I was also disappointed that the mount is only from doing the EX version. My ilevel isn't anywhere near high enough because I deliberately don't play all the time and try to get the highest ilevel, so I can't even get in to begin with. I was looking forward to the event because I like Monster Hunter, but I was extremely disappointed that the mount is locked behind EX and there's no other way to get it.

Also: if it's supposed to be based off the way MH fights are, why are 8 and 4 people needed to do it? I solo'd all monsters up to the end of the story in MHWorld. Why can't I do that here too?

The fight will become trivial once the next set of gear raises everyone's HP well above 40k.

Rathalos absolutely DOES have "tells" or telegraphs for his attacks, you have to pay attention to his posture and movements which clearly indicate what attack he is going to do next. What he lacks are AoE markers... which technically isn't a new a concept for this game either. The manticore/diresaur type monsters have attacks without markers which are instead telegraphed by posture (Ganderwa, Stone Vigil (Hard) 3rd Boss, Manticores in HoH, etc.) and the demon monkey things (Angada) as well.

You could always wait, and then do it very overgeared later and unsynched like Derio has said
As for only be from the Ex version, mounts have always come from that so why change it now.
I do not see why it should drop from the normal version

I find mount and armor set from it very ugly. So there is no incentive for me to even run it. To me it just another waste of space that they could used to add more character options and better looking glamour items.

he has very few attacks to remember and they are all very simple, just like monster hunter
if you don't want to put any effort into something that seems more like your bad job than the creators.
the fight is a blast imo, ill be a bit sad once i have no reason to do it anymore. Should get some more monster hunter fights...

Don't see why you'd be scared or unwilling to enter in that fight. It's not like the scripted fights we have thus far, so most typical XIV people struggle with it, and those from MHW generally find it easy. Personally I've hated doing extreme, for reasons which I won't discuss but I can say as my 2nd extreme this expansion, you really are missing out by not dipping your toes in it at least. Worst case scenario you can do what everyone else does - Cheeses the fight with 3 Tanks, 1 Healer, or 4 Tanks.

And those complaining, either get hard at work, or simply go back to it at a later time. It isn't like this content will vanish. It's a permanent addition. Albeit I personally do think they should've had the mount available in Normal, or Extreme mode, with normal mode requiring many more scales than extreme. Just my input though.

He can hit and kill dps/healers with 45k+ Hp with some of his moves. Second phase rush, stuns you then poison, only a healer or maybe a dps that knows erase can help you. If it's the healer you're dead. Yet he hits tanks for maybe 20k or less. I'm doing multiple runs today, and the tank literally ignores his rushes until there's stunlocks. Meanwhile just one rush murders me and the dps.

It's like literally you cannot make a single mistake. I said in another thread I just plan on clearing it once and forgetting about it; doing it 50+ times is absurd.

If you go in with a full group you bypass the ilvl restriction(its always worked this way). And i mean, increasing your ilvl would probly be pretty easy if you wanted to. There are almost a half dozen sources of gear higher then this requirement you could try out. Also, the patch in september is raising the ilvl by 30 again, so therell be new gear even further above the min for this meaning youd need even less of them to get past the restriction.

As for a solo attempt, unsync should be available in 5.0... look forward to it?

I sincerely wonder how people who are upset about this thought you would get the mount? From the theme of the event AND the history of mount obtainment thought XIV's content it should have been obvious that this would be an EX reward... And it should be, because putting it in normal mode would be tantamount to just handing it out, which I don't agree with. You want the shinies, you need to work for the shinies...

If you can do the normal mode, you can do the ex mode.

Mounts should be something special

There is no reason to be scared of any ex fight in this game. Join a learning party and learn the fight. That's all there is to it. We all started from 0 at some point and had to learn the mechanics and we all failed at some point and we all died. Just try until you know what to do. And if you don't like your party, just join another one.
Mounts should be something to be earned, not given to you for doing nothing. I'm sure that a lot of people who are scared of the harder fights in the game could finish them if they simply tried harder and admitted that they have to improve themselves.

I'm constantly getting hit by his flying charge in normal mode even when I've definitely dodged it. I don't know if it's latency or something goofy about the animation/hitbox, but it's making me feel like I probably couldn't do the EX version.

While it could be latency, with all of his attacks you need to move well before he goes after you. its alot like mh in that way. you most definitely can do the EX version. stay at/near his left flank in phase one, his butt phase 2. its hard to do, but it is effective at dodging most attacks.

I swear people would find a way to complain about a 5 second fight that requires you press only one button. FFXIV is already the easiest, most simplified, and console-ized MMO there is, so please don't try to make it even worse.

First off, why on earth would you think it would drop from Normal? That would actually decrease the mounts overall value if everyone could just stroll into the normal mode and walk off with it afterwards. If you want something unique and special, then put in the same amount of time and effort like the rest of us please.

Secondly, where have you been for the entirety of EX trial rewards? The mounts have ALWAYS dropped from their EX versions and not the normal versions. Why should Rath EX be any different? It's an incentive to do the harder trial, it's like the doorbusters you see in department stores to snag customers through their doors right away. Furthermore, have you made previous threads where you state that the dog dropping from Tsuki EX was unfair? If not and if you say that you're perfectly okay with the standards that SE set for those, then you're being an entitled hypocrite.

This reminds me of those players who would complain that Ixion is so hard to get, as of now, when I was farming/camping him upon Stormblood's release with the Tommy Lee Jones look of "Guys...please".

....Just get a higher ilvl then...? I mean, it's not exactly hard nor is it the game's fault that you can't give yourself the motivation or ambition to pursue a higher ilvl to get something you want. They'd never make an EX fight solo and even when we do have "solo" instances, we have NPC's to heal/help us. Aside from the NPC's, the health chunks and mechanics would have to be centered around you and NPC's and be somewhat less challenging to do simply because of the AI's limitations of being smart. A solo Rath EX would be not only pointless with the set ilvl that it is right now, but utterly devoid of challenge and substance. So, that's why it's not a solo.

Do the work and you'll get the mount.

The problem dear is not the ilvl but keep up with healing and be lucky to dodge and not to get marked by fire multiple times,with ilvl 370 is still pretty hard.
Just wait for the next tier and I a while you can do it easily with 1 RDM lol

It’s probably an internet issue, happens you could check your ping. Btw try to bard or machinist it’s much easier (: or tank and being hit won’t be a problem anymore

Yea, I know. But, that's what that guy specified. He didn't have the proper ilvl to even get into the fight. It had nothing to do with the actual mechanics. He's locked out because it requires your gear to at least be i350 for EX.

That's what the second person's complaint was about.

The problem is that this is the first crossover SE has had that catered to multiple skill/effort levels. People are used to a 25m fed-ex quest chain, maybe involving a fate, with a nice toy at the end. That's not what this is. It would be better to view this as "the newest FFXIV trial, sponsored by Monster Hunter", a trial along the lines of Ultima or Odin. And there is already a "quick and easy" quest chain that gets you most of the toys.

The yokai event catered to different effort levels, skill was irrelevant(unless you consider the patience to run potentially thousands of fates a skill). You could decide if it was worth putting forth the effort to do just a couple cute minis, mini and weapon for a couple specific classes, all minis for the normal mount, or everything for the glowy mount. And it was active over a roughly 3 month span twice, giving people plenty of time to spread out that effort too. So not the "first" time.

I have no problem mount being locked behind 50 +scales and EX. People that does EX need a incentive to do it.

Comparing this to the Yokai event is laughable. While there are a good number of us who just see it as a grind, there are an even bigger number who freak out over the very thought of having to set foot into an EX to receive their goodies. And I say this as someone who enjoys this event and has already been chipping away at EX even if I admit that my skill level is not "amazing". But I've also never complained about the way SE does EX mounts.

The fight is a bit unfair though. In the first phase, if you are a tank you can eat every single attack the boss does and not die. If you are a dps or healer under 40k HP, you can get oneshot; at 44k i lose like 95% of my HP. I tried it as healer, and then as tank, and as tank i never was punished for any real mistake except tanking the big add. In the second phase, that means tanks can survive a tail swipe and not die immediately after due to poison or burn. A lot of the difficulty is due to how easy it is for a DPS or Healer to die.

You could do three tanks, and the fight really is trivial. But it actually punishes people who do the trad setup with increased difficulty.

Putting rewards behind EX content is pretty typical. And if you can't do it now, just wait until next expansion, gear up, and unsync it for lots of vitality to last through more mistakes (which is similar to how people who can't clear current content eventually get their trial EX mounts later on. Nothing new, this is how non-extreme people get things)
