Well Its Anemos all over again, period.
To be fair, there is the challenge log who will help get the first level and after some days its gonna be FATE train all the way to your relic.
A treasure hunting thing seems to be in place with those cute rabbit but since I don't care at all I can't say more... Because its fate related too (not notorium Monster, elemental clashing something like that) and those delicious fate don't give xp at all.
/dread!/ Not looking forward to the slow lvl start ... that was painful lol
In terms of atmosphere/music/aesthetics/story (even if it's probs too early to say) how does it feel? Anything that stands out?
The treasure hunt sounds fun! Otherwise, same as before? Kill X monsters till boss spawn then kill for exp etc?
Same music man... same music, and it's sad cause that song itself came from a fate... irony
Same crap here but with no mount to start, that is fail. They also need to get rid of the lose a level bs if they want ppl to solo. I was in there almost 3 hrs and got exactly 4 crystals and opened the next teleport. Whopping L 21 atm.
Majority of people are far from knowing anything in pagos, wait for lvl cap NMs to see how good their fight is and wait on the new treasure bunnies to see wat kind of stuff we get later on
From what I understood, couldn't test it myself, but it seems fate doesn't give xp any longer.
My first impression of Pagos is that, it's like the Old Eureka all the same boring Grind. A really big disappointment for me. I lost pretty fast the motivation, its again braindead grind. Makes no FUN at all. The only think i pretty much like is the Landscape, it's pretty. But the grind stuff is just, no words..... :feelssadman: I was really hoping somehow its diffrent, and not the same boring content. Such a waste of resources, time and money..
In a game where the leveling experience leaves quite a lot to desire, they really seem to think we enjoy it. So much to the point we have to do it again at cap.
Wait. Fates dont give xp? Whats the bloody point then!
Nha there is two type of fate in Pagos :
Elemental clashes : No xp, give a bunny at random on a participant and may drop carrot for the bunny who may guide you to a treasure that worth probably not your time and effort.
Notorious Monster : Same as Anemos with xp chest and pagos bullsh** token.
certainly wasn't expecting to have no mount again. Was expecting to be even with the lowest monsters, but the exp is nothing short of dreadful. Killed one to try it out and got a whopping 800! (with 315k needed for the level). Then joined a party and spent 20 minutes on a fate, and got zip, nada, nothing - not even any exp. After all that excitement I was like hmmmm.... and left.
On mobile and net connection is slow atm so I have to ask here: did they nerf anything in Eureka so that I can waltz through it like butter?
I want to pretend I'm surprised. But I'm not. Having no mount did surprise me though, since that's probably the one thing that would draw more attention to people outside of the relics themselves, and given that the relics will only be at a relevant for a few weeks and won't be again until the third phase of Eureka that's kind of sad. Do the relic weapons this round at least look good? Or are they basically reskins of the Anemos versions?
I was extremely disappointed that they reused the same music. I love that song, even have in in my house playlists, but it took them THIS LONG to give us Pagos and they couldn't bother to make at least a new map song?
It's a neat map so far, though I'm a little annoyed because the people I've grouped with are lazy people that only wanna wait for the train to pop stuff and are not actually trying to work on figuring out stuff.
Just more people following the crowd.
Beautiful map and had fun with the NMs I've seen.
Did a bunny FATE called Down The Rabbit Hole (20) or something, a yeti boss that took forever cause of all the people. Gave 0 exp. Got a bunny NPC following me afterwards. (You need the temporary buff or you can't interact with box even if someone else spawns it) You get a carrot usable thing by the duty timer. Keep using it on the bunny and it will tell you which direction. Found the chest, silver box. 10k gil and a tier 6 savage aim. Might be better later on when you are higher level, chest was near level 23 mobs so I had to make sure I didn't aggro.
Do you lose xp at the early levels if you raise or are you immune until a certain level like Anemos?
yeah, considering the loss of the mount, you lose exp even at 20... so it's worse than starting anemos fresh. You'd think you could at least get a few levels in before it starts pinging you again. maybe I'm missing something, but can't tell which fates are for exp, and not interested in wasting 20 minutes and getting jack. All I've managed to do so far is waste time, get nothing, and go backwards.
I look forward to the train once spawn conditions are figured out it'll be easy fate train city.
The Bunny Fate is terrible & everyone is avoiding it like the plague. What were they thinking 0xp 0Rewards RNG Treasure Bunny for 1 person even if grouped only that person gets RNG Bunny gets the reward.
So far I aint seeing anything different from Pagos I haven't already seen in Anemos except different monster skins, different climate, different weather, a terrain that's more of a maze, different currency, and pointless bunny fates (by which I mean no experience points.) I've heard some mobs require you to change to walk stance to sneak past undetected.
Fates seem to take longer to spawn, there's no riding yet, and people keep dropping out after 2 or 3 fates because that's how many have been found at the moment.
I'm not impressed.
Can’t say I’m surprised that it’s Anemos but in a cold/ice-aspected area instead of wind-aspected.
Disappointed in the “no mounts until level x” nonsense. This content is already the textbook definition of tedium. Why pile onto it with that restriction? Even the mounts being the OG movement speed is better than being stuck spamming our sprint hotkey/button.
Spent one run in there today and was surprised at the fate not giving xp right on the front door of the starting area...I know why but as a newvie you don't and think "great a fate near start" only to be disappointed.
Death penalty...why. It start it at level 22 or 23..? From the go seems harsh
Dunno how others do be it but I struggled to find groups, eventually starting one myself. When not in a group getting a res was very difficult. 3 times I died solo and 3 times I almost ran out of time before some kind soul heard my cry for help. Third was just lucky as it was at lvl 21 location so someone doing quest came and raised me as a side content lol compared to anemos which was super friendly and fun to an extent...this seems very unaccommodating and people less willing to help. Might be different after patch day but I'll leave it a few days as risk of being killed and losing xp is too high atm
I'd give it a bit if you want to do trains. Train isn't as viable right now like before when everyone is underleveled. Don't have the luxury to have 5 people 3 shotting mobs because they are 8+ levels over the mobs while 40 people afk. On average people are either at the mob level or under in pagos.
To be honest, I don't mind the grind, but what pisses me off is that they kept with the 144 people formula... Not everyone has a great machine to support that, and it actually is very stressful to not be able to see anything, and be dead for the rest of your party, while in your screen you're still lagging alive. Also, not being able to use mounts since the beginning is a pain.
It's Anmos in the winter. Once I figure out what mount and minions are there I will get those and quit like I did Anemos as after that it is just grinding for the sake of grind. I will say that XP seems to be less in Pagos than Anemos. My guess is SE is trying to slow everyone down but like Anemos and Diadem before that this is content you get over with as quickly as possible then go back to the real end game stuff.
Oh yeah for got to mention the invisible mobs are still around making it impossible to see the boss and add AoE's much of the time.
So far out the four hours I've done of it I've bumped myself to 21. Did go back down to 19 near the start after having no one rescue my hopeless self, so that was fun. (Bunnies led me to an area with a level 40 mob. Whoopsie.)
Atmosphere is nice, can't say I landed in many good groups though. Got kicked out of one of them for not applying a regen to the tank quick enough when he was at full health.
Admittedly dunno what they were intending with this mechanic. Just out of interest I tried seeking out my own treasure one time, and with a bit of luck, after much time faffing about I found it near the level 20 mobs. Though imagine my disappointment when it just turned out to be a Quicktongue Materia. I guess it's free loot, and if you're in a premade party that don't mind hunting down everyone else's.. No, even then it still sounds excessively tedious. Would have to wait to see what else they can contain.
My understanding (as it is currently, probably to be updated) is that it's pure RNG if you get a bunny or not (and, yes, more than 1 per fate), anyone who has a bunny can loot the chest. Not sure yet if the chest loot is RNG, I get the feeling it might be, but we're only touching low level ones so far?
