How are we supposed to progress Storyline Quests if you sit in queues for over 3+ hours?
I assume you're being hyperbolic when you say 3 hours?
- Preform a party by asking your FC-mates and friends for help (requires finding an FC and friends first)
- Try PF (=PartyFinder) and advertise your first time bonus
- Go in unsyched&undersized and avoid the queue completly - only works when you're at a much, much higher level than the duty in question, but if you get one level 70 person to join you, you can basically clear most content up to level 60 with ease. Note: You wont get exp or the proper dungeon-experience itself, aka skipping mechanics or dealing with them in a different way than you're supposed to.
- Queue up as tank or healer, if you can, to speed up queues.
If you're playing on a japanese server don't forget to check all the languages.
Or you could try to find a level 70 player to do it unsync so you can progress.
Good luck and have fun! :o
While I cant give you much advice on finding an FC (or friends), here is how you do two of those things:
Partyfinder
Go to the group-menu on the bottom right of your screen - the little flag-symbol, might not be called "group" - and open "Partyfinder" (second one from the top). Now click on the big, golden "Recruit"-Button on the bottom left of that window and navigate through the following window by picking the duty you want to recruit for, what jobs you're looking for etc. Finally hit "Recruit" again.
Unsyched/Undersized
This will allow you to enter any duty right away with your current party. You'll keep your level - thats why its called "unsyched": you dont get level-synched - but the game wont try to pair you with other people. So again: You can only do that when your own level is (much) higher than the content you wanna do. So if your progressing through the story and are at level for the duties, you'll have to find a level 70 player whos willing to help you. You also wont get exp. So, enough with the warning... to do this you need to open the normal DF-window and click on the little gear-symbol in the top-left. That will bring up a menu - you want to check the second option (I believe is called "Undersized"). Now you can enter any duty without having to wait for people!
This is also the menu where you can navigate to "languages" to make sure you've picked all of them!
depends on time of day too. are you playing/queuing during your region's primetime? or early morning/middle of the day when people are at work? try it in the evening, more people should be online.
Taemek, you're on Tonberry, so that means you're on a Japanese data center. Here is my suggestion:
1. Go to the Duty Finder tab.
2. Click on the small gray circle with the Cogwheel in the upper left hand corner of the Duty Finder tab.
3. Choose Language.
4. Make sure the "Japanese" language is on since you are on a Japanese data center.
It is very possible that is the case.
I didn't think it would be that long either with cross world queues. On that note, do cross world queues only work for the data centre you are on? For example, Tonberry is on the Elemental data center, does it only cross world queue within Elemental or if I chose all Langauge types, it will cross world with all?
My first guess on seeing this topic was playing on a japanese server and not selecting that language. It comes up fairly often on the boards here, and usually that(selecting japanese as an additional language to match with) fixes the problem. But the partyfinder is a good idea too. I use it enough that i gave it a dedicated keybind to bring it up faster.
