When can we expect a hide fail option for Miqo’te and Au Ra?

It’s no secret that tail clipping is seen as the norm with most glamours nowadays. It’s especially heinous on gear featuring capes or multiple layers of fabric that just look ruined with a tail clipping through them all horrifically. Just take the newly released Princess dress for example, my characters tail clips through it at 3 points and it’s essentially ruined it for me!

A simple /hidetail option would do wonders in the ever growing battle against clipping. If you believe you’re too stretched in resources to put tail holes into each glamour like what was done in ARR, please consider this instead. I’d much rather see no tail and and know it’s been hidden under the dress than it sticking out like something from a horror movie. :(

The tail is a defining part of a Miqo'te. Now that we have two tailed races (maybe 3 soon?), they should work harder on tailed versions of gear. Some have it, why not all?

Defining maybe, but when many pieces of gear are otherwise marred or made to look rediculous with the awful clipping, many of us would love the option to hide it. It would be an OPTION after all. Just because you might never want to use it, that’s not an argument as to why it wouldn’t be a good option to have. I love my characters tail, but not when it clips through 2 or more layers of fabric. I shouldn’t have to choose between my character’s tail and glamour, especially since I (and many others) pay for glamours that end up looking ridiculous due to the clipping, hence this post asking if a hide tail option is in the cards at some point.

It’s not a post demanding for all tails to be gone, so it shouldn’t affect you in the slightest if you don’t wish to hide your tail even if the option comes into the game eventually.
More choice is better, not worse. We should always be looking for more freedom of play if it’s not too hard or arduous to implement, not looking to limit it.

Seeing as this is probably more feasible than every piece of gear being designed without tail-clipping, I think this is a great idea!

If you hide your fails, how will people give you advice thus you learn from them?

The entire reason for being a miqote: tail 50% ears 50%. If the tail is so annoying then play a hyur or pick outfits where the clipping isn’t so agregious. I don’t agree with them adding options to remove body parts on any race. I would rather not have to look at a bunch of weird tailless aura and miqote running around.

The same day they add an ability to use roegadin legs on a alalafell character

Since when did I or anyone here say "remove" the tail? You kinda took my post out of context a bit and put words in my mouth there. It's about hiding it underneath the clothes, which isn't "tailess", I'm not asking for Yoshi P and the devs to go around cutting everyones tails off! And also, if you think hiding a tail under a huge cape or garment looks "weirder" than a tail magically clipping and teleporting through multiple layers of fabric and clothes with no opening, you might need to have a think to yourself.

Even if they implemented it like the Gauss Barrel, where only you can't see it but others still can. Then EVERYONE can be happy. It's not hard to find solutions that can please most people, I'm just asking for you and others to be open minded.

I don't understand why people are so angry about the idea of not having tails or the option to hide a tail. You don't have to utilize the option if you really hate it so much. I might go back to playing miqo if I could hide my tail. I had been playing the same miqo'te since 2.1 when I started, but switched to a lala for Stormblood because I was fed up with tail clipping.

I seriously would consider going back to being a cat girl if I could have a bobbed or removed tail. Or even just be able to hide it. Good post OP.

Is that confirmed in lore? I know that it effects balance for things like actual cats, kangaroos, and even the extinct dinosaurs. I think tails vary in their abilities. Some are for balance, some are prehensile, and some are just for swatting away insects (horses and cows do this). Unless that is confirmed I was always of the suspicion that miqo'te tails were just kind of... cosmetic.

I’ll try to get a photo later when I next log in showing my Miqo’te wearing the new Princess Attire dress. I’ve got the lion tail option (since yes, I DO like the tail people!) but only bushy end of it juts out of the dress like a toilet brush being jammed through a skirt! It looks awful. It’s something you literally *can’t* ignore so long as you are playing as all you see is behind your character as they run about, with their toilet brushes jammed in their dresses in mine and many others cases...

Please, consider a /hidetail option for situations like this, it’s not unreasonable, it’s not arduous, it’s necessary. Please restore the once excellent design consistencies to your game, one way or another.

If you dont want a tail anymore you can become a hyur or that race who have a right posture and perfect body: Lalafell

While I'll agree that it's a defining part of a Miqo'te, there's still some gear that looks very silly without it hiding the tail. The Chocobo Suit being a prime example of this:

Not saying they should add an option that'll hide the tail permanently, but they should at least consider having it hidden on some gear.
