There are many houses with many different styles, what are some interesting ones you have seen throughout the years playing FFXIV?

I saw a screenshot on Reddit once of a couple houses having a "feud" with each other. One had a Paissa exterior and a bunch of Ishgardian cannons in the yard. The other had, I think a Moogle exterior and something equally ridiculous pointed at his neighbor.
I saw this disturbing room on Ultros recently while looking for apartments with message books:

The infamous Mateus Goblet Ward 12 is pretty great.
Marlboro ward 12 plot 14 of lavender beds.... ;)
I think my house is pretty great
In my housing ward there is a house that the homeowner made into an apkallu shrine. The inside is literally just a circle of the drinking apkallus. The lights were dimmed, there was only one small lantern lighting the entire room. The walls were covered by black partitions, so you couldn't even see the exit or anything else. The temple bell orchestrion was playing. Definitely the creepiest house I've seen, I couldn't teleport out of there fast enough.
Dear Diary,
It seems I have a new neighbour here in Shirogane. His cottage is right next to mine. They say he's a lala, an only the Twelves know how biased I'm against lalas. But I am a friendly neighbour, so I have to pay him a visit one of these days.

Dear Diary,
My retainers keep bringing back garbage and my inventory is almost full. So today I decided to go greet my new neighbour with some dhalmel gratin (nq). His door was ajar... I called out to him but no answer. I stepped inside, clearly nobody was there. I left a welcome message in the guestbook and went back to my house. The little popoto has taste in home decor, but there's something eerie about that place...

Dear Diary,
What is a prime number? What is a MULTOPLE? An adventurer's life is indeed full of mysteries... just like that house. Last night I sneaked in again... There seems to be no basement, how come? No way to go downstairs... just a wall blocking the way and that creepy doll... I must solve the "Mystery of 4th Ward"!

Dear Diary,
I think... we're not coming back soon...

The creepiest I ever visited would have to be when I was doing a 'Fox Hunt' event (hide and go seek for prizes) with the FC where I would hide in a random house and possibly give hints if it was taking too long. I ran into one of the open houses in the ward and it was a bed under an ice chandelier (I think, one of the more direct light ones), some other lighting with a chair to watch from over on the side, not too far off from what Doozer posted above. I decided to pick a different house to hide in.
I forget where the house was, but while looking at houses for ideas on other servers, I came across a small house that the downstairs was full of nothing but pink-dyed decorations. And the love bed in the middle of the sea of pink. And behind some pink partitions was a hot tub with NPC vendors staring directly at it.
In the upstairs of my FC's house is a dreadwyrm statue that our leader always leaves the fiery sphere effect active on. And, as you approach from the stairs, there's a black pole blocking the exact center of the fire effect from view. The first time I went in, my first thought was "Um... Why is the Eye of Sauron in our living room?"
Found a house completely decorated in portraits of the sultana once - and one that had a shrine to Haurchefant in their basement replete with portrait, flowers, and casket...
Complete moogle house, with moogle dolls floating everywhere and Good King Moogle Mog playing in the background.
This is the house near my friend's house.

Little weird.

When you enter, all you hear are creepy chiming bells....but perhaps worst is the guestbook.

cursed
(this is only the beginning of this house's insanity, by the way)
Goodness that house and guestbook is really creepy.
o_o
I'm still quite proud of the basement spa I have in my small...I added more windows and plants though since these were taken, xD.

Here's my haunted house. Tried our best to make it creepy as hell. It has a sacrificial table, laboratory, torture machine, demon doll altar, as well as a few other fun rooms. ;)

It was featured on Merry Matsuri's housing tours. I'm very proud of it. Ultros ward 8 plot 43.
Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it anymore, but an old FC buddy used to have a room in the FC house where he had placed a bunch of moogle plushies down in the shape of a pentagram, and if I remember right, there was one of those coffin beds in the middle.
If anyone wants to come visit my small house it's in Shirogane ward 5 plot 52 (Server: Odin) you're welcome to do so.
Here's a sneak peek :D

OOF.
That guest book is the stuff of nightmares...
Would say it was mine if on the same server. At one point in the game, you could think my character was borderline Edda, and made it seem like I kept Haurchefant's remains in a 'shrine' like decorated basement devoted to him. Thing was, it wasn't intentional. It was just supposed to be a tribute, and the casket was merely where my character slept because her glams were very vampiric at the time.
When I moved into a house, and shed the eerie/funeral home theme, some FC mates confessed to thinking my décor was a bit creepy and rather enjoy the more café/suite-like establishment I have now xD.
Once I found out that lalafell npcs fit perfectly within the flames of a fireplace, all bets were off. My house now has the pleasant aroma of lalafell roasting over an open fire.
