whats the point in sell your items for 999,999,999 do people actually pay this price for anything?
If your low on inventory space, selling items in your bazzar for 999,999,999 will give you 10 extra inventory spaces
Yes, I do.
ahhh kk makes sence
Items in bazaar should take inventory space IMO to prevent all of this "put stuff up for 9999999999 for the extra inventory space" crap.
Nobody checks bazaars because they are all full of max gil items. Fake sales.
If bazaar sales took inventory space, bazaars would just be real sales instead of +10 inventory
I put things up for 999,999,999 in my bazaar so it segregates the items I don't want to accidentally NPC, not to free up 10 additional spaces as presumed by most on this thread.
Seems completely stupid to me.
If you're gonna put it up for a lot, put it up for 99,999,999 million, or 9,999,999
so that you MIGHT get lucky. At least that's a price someone can buy possibly.
Also, i thought that when all items are sold, your retainer vanishes from the ward and needs to be recalled unless they fixed that. So unbuyable item saves that from happening.
still selling my +3 Dodore Doublet for 999,999,999 gil from 1.16.
the thing is when i put something in my personal bazaar it's to either seperate items that i don't want to accidentally npc or while i am seperating crafting mats.
while making items i will throw my hq mats in my bazaar while i am crafting up my nq mats. i don't want to use part hq and part nq mats when making things. i finish using the nq mats and then will throw my leftover nq mats in my bazaar and grab my hq ones off. i'll then synth my hq mats trying for hq gear to make extra profits. once i finish using both types of mats i would remove them all from my bazaar and then return them to my retainer.
that's why i say i don't use those spots often, but i do have a reason for doing so when i do. as far as not making sense all i am saying is i don't use my personal bazaar to sell items out of and no matter if those 10 slots take up inventory space or not i still won't be selling items out of it. i have 4 retainers selling items in the wards at all times so i have no need to add those 10 extra spots for selling items on my personal inventory.
recently lots fake "repairing sign/request" in bazaar too.
Since Ifrit battle, people been putting 1 gils for avoiding wasting 2nd weapon... (/sarcasm on why? as the obvious reason that I really need 2nd ifrit weapon. Just in case mine broke and 1000 malms no repair technician /sarcasm off)
I used to feel bad when I see the repair sign and stop my activities and repair ppl's stuffs. Since this happened, I only check people who is wearing normal clothes with repair sign...
now... more people put the repair for 1,000,000 gils for moogle or ifrit weapon as a joke. They have one of the same kind in inventory, so most people who stopped and repaired will not get the reward. I rarely care about people's broken item anymore...
I do it for vanity reasons. I want my retainers looking good ;)
it was just used as an example. it's more that people that don't use it to sell items out of would still not use those slots for selling even if those slots took up inventory space. i was just stating it'd be just as well used that way as empty bazaar if they have no need for selling items out of it.
I tend to store consumables like arrows and baits in my bazzar as I don't need to carry about 5 stacks of arrows in my inventory as I don't always play archer, but if I am low I like to have it there for quick access.
that wont solve anything i think. check player bazaars isnt so comfortable, cos you have to check every player around to see if they sell something that you want or you are interested in, and it is a slow process, very annoying i think.
i think we need an editable text under or above the player names or something like that where we can write what are we selling, or a chat bubble.
I don't think I've ever replied to one of your posts before since I generally agree with you Mog but uhm... I call shananigans on this one.
The people complaining that 999,999,999 items are "crap" and that it's some kind of blight on the world are very seriously over reacting and exagerating. A few people have said it but in the context of personal bazaars people are just trying to scrape out a few more inventory slots. Big deal. Game breaking oh noez~
P.S. if it's true that "nobody checks bazaars" (and I'm not entirely sure that it is) it's not because of max gil items it's probably because few really give a shit, especially now that repair flags are there for gear that I'm wearing and gear I've listed in my bazaar. Use your retainers if you want to sell things, last time I checked that was the whole point of that nonsense system. While the personal bazaar is a nice additional way to sell things from player to player it's not the most common means of transactions among players and nobody is either worse off or better off for it. It is of no pressing importance or significance.
Try a valium and a triple of scotch instead of wild exageration on interweb forumz next time.
sorry, forgot to bold something.
OK, that is good to know. However i agree that it is stupid to do that. Because i get tired of checking people, looking for weapons, items, and ingregients and all i see is 999,999,999. It makes me want to pull out the hair i don't have on my head.... lol
Do people do this to show off/e-peen like in FFXI? I'm assuming not so much sense there's hardly any awesome gear that you can actually Bazaar...
problem with the retainer issue is that people think they have to do it or loose their spot and the wards will fill. Issue is so many people do it that it is probably the main reason wards are always full. If people just put up stuff they want to sell or buy and let it disappear I bet there wouldn't be any room issues.
I don't mean to derail, but it would be nice to have a lot of sweet gear that you can sell off. Then again, id hate to see the return of 15 LS's camping one HNM, and seeing whose bot can catch the HNM first..
Including bazzar items in someones inv will only make it like FFXI when people had things in thier bazzar so they either dont npc them, or to show off (999,999,999 kclub anyone)
Tying bazaar to inv slots might not be the optimal solution, but Dr. is correct in the fact that putting items up for large gil amounts kills the intended use of the system SE put in place. I've been trained to not even check people with a bazaar bag up. Why bother when it's probably just worthless junk up for more gil than I want to pay for it. I find it to be a shame because I liked filtering through peoples bazaar in XI. Finding an items on the cheap made me smile, like getting a really good score at someone's garage sale.
Deli is also right in people on Rab are starting to do the same thing with epeen items up for 1 gil repairs. Thankfully the number of people doing this are mostly members of one particular shell, (I mean really, you feel the need to trick crafters into looking at your epeen items?) so it's not too hard to just add them to a mental blacklist. However, if this practice spread then soon the repair icon will be just as ignored as the bazaar one.
I use my bazaar as my catalysts storage most of the time. People check bazaars of other players? I sure as hell don't and only do if the repair icon is up. Suppose its just as annoying to see someone with the repair icon and its their stupid ifrit/moogle weapon collection they are showing off. So I don't really bother at all!
Besides I got my fill of checking bazaars mindlessly back when the wards didn't have a search. From now on I could really care less. Then again whats the need to browse bazaars? Things in this game don't really have any "worth" to them.
A friend asks me to meld his barbarian bardiche(unique), so I accept trade it it wont work.. turns out I have an axe already. I put it in bazaar for 99999999 because i am not trying to sell, only meld a friends gear. I then forget to take it down from bazaar, Im deeply sorry if i annoyed any of you with my over priced item /sarcasm
Most of you take game issues too serious. Items for 99999999 big deal. close the window and keep walking.
I do this with my retainers so I don't lose my claim in the market wards. Sucks for other people, but I like being able to sell my stuff.
hehehe i see what you did there
Thread Title: selling items 4 999,999,999
To either show off your spiffy items, or for extra inv space. I think I currently have 10 stacks of 99 grade 5 DM in my bazaar.
I no longer check people's bazaars because of this. As this is not the reason why SE created this feature, they may want to do something about it.
