1.21 accessory system

FFXI accessory system was better then ffxiv 1. 21 is going to be, you could wear two different earrings, two different rings, a necklace and one set of bracelets... You can almost do that in 1.21 except you you have to wear double the earrings? I'd say we are moving from a better system to a garbage system.

we are moving from being able to wear 3-4 items to being able to wear 5

how is that a worst system?

its worse then FFXI no? In FFXI i could wear whatever I wanted, in FFXIV 1.21 It duplicates my earrings.

IT IS GARBAGE BECAUSE IT DOESNT RESEMBLE FFXI'S DUR....

any time you go from a better system to a lesser system its garbage and when there is a post about keeping underwear for customization or getting rid of it, I'd say being able to use two different earrings with different stats is important to me.

so with your line of thinking we could say the best system would be 10 rings, choker, 4 earnings (you know, for people who got them done 2 times in each ear) 20 bracelets(if your going for that 80's look) would be the best system

So heres your choices!

1.20 = 3 good pieces MAX = 12 slot points
1.21 = 5 BETTER pieces, with enmity & gathering/crafting stats


Sorry but HOW DO YOU THINK WHAT WE HAVE NOW IS BETTER THAN WHATS COMING?

That's not at all what this post is saying and you know it. People still don't understand 1.21 system is better than currently, but then again this is the generation of MMORPG gamers who think Quantity > Quality, which is why they lie to themselves that kill quests in new MMOs are content.

Current system if you want to wear accessories that mattered..you were limited to 2 rings and at best 1 wrist slot, let alone your neck slot and no earrings or any order.

In FFXI, no matter the stats you could equip everything.

In 1.21, you lose an earring, wrist and 2 rings lots but can equip everything no matter the stats.

It resembles FFXI's system already, since XI was used as an example.

FFXIV Post 1.21: Neck, Wrist, Earring, 2 Rings

It's almost the exact same thing...

As far as comparing FFXIV's accessory system pre and post 1.21... right now you get to wear 3 high end accessories at most. Post 1.21 we get to wear 5 total and each individual piece will have either boosted stats or more relevant stats.

wait wait wait since when did have ffxi bracelets? as i remember 1 necklace 2 earrings 2 rings so all in all 5 too?

Yeah, I don't see it either. We could have kept the old system, IF and only IF they had given slot point increments at certain levels to allow for more higher-level accessories to be equipped, but since they didn't, well a better system is coming in place.

Thanks blizzard. Hopefully FFXIV 2.0 will be so successful it can undo some of the damage WoW has caused to the genre.

Edit: Hahahahahaha, who am I kidding?

5 accessories > 3 accessories, I can only 3 rings and I am at my slot cost limit. This new system makes us able to equip more accessories, with better stats it is paticularly a huge update for DoW/M because they can get crafting attributes which they currently cant.

Also the new DoW/M stats are a nice boost enmity+ on a ring will be awesome for GLA/PLD.

If I was simple minded I could accept the poor system of duplicating earrings in each ear however the option to have two different earrings sounds more appealing to me. but most of the posts on this forum are all for making this game generic and bland.. I hope 2.0 is a little more colorful then most of your comments.

I want two nipple ring slots, at least 4 ring slots for eye brows, at least 2 nose ring slots, at least at least one mouth piecing slot, one slot for tongue ring, naval ring slot, 10 slots for fingers, 10 slots for toes, one necklace slot, at least 4 bracelet slots, at least 4 anklet slots, and at least one slot for 'down there'.

This game does not have 41 slots for jewelry!!! It is horrible!!

Other than I really don't like wearing earrings as a guy, the number of slot for jewelry doesn't bug me if it is balanced.

I'd like the ability to change the display of my ring to be on my pinky instead of my index finger, but on my left hand I want the middle finger to be my ring finger. SE can you please allow me to choose which finger I have my rings on?

Also, can we make it so that my wrist braclets can be on the upper portion of my bicep instead of on my wrist?

Simple minded huh..

You couldn't ever wear full accessories if they were worth a damn due to 12 point limitation and the good ones costing 5 points. The new system? Especially with stat changes and materia possibility (unconfirmed) and no slot limitations? I'm pretty sure the new system is indeed better.

ref dev1244 please dont change the ability to have two earrings.;( I really enjoy mixing and matching earrings and some time just wearing one.

As long as we get back the ring finger back eventually, I don't mind the sharing slots for ears and wrists.

They can always make more items like the moonlet and Patriot's wristband that appear only on one ear or wrist. And I expect the devs to make more like that. For example, unique/special items like the moonlet only appear on one ear (wrist), while generic items appear on both. Something like that.

Since all our characters are right handed, I suspect we won't be able to choose which ear/wrist to put the items on?

All that aside, I am pleased with the upcoming change. Being able to fill all accessory slots, it's great for character customization and the new accessories will be nice too.

Hmm, not sure if trolling or really putting up a suggestion, BUT! I like the idea.

For example, you equip the ring on your right hand. Then, next to it a small hand appears. You tick the finger you want the ring on. Voilà!
Same for the armband.

That would require plenty of coding though, so I doubt we will see it.
Nevertheless, I'm adding a "like" to the idea. :D

for real... is the OP really calling the game generic based on accessory slots? and from how i read this the OP does not stop there, he supports XI's system which is one accessory slot of a difference from XIV's... sad, just plain sad.

I don't understand when people say "It's 2012" when it comes to -trying- to having a valid point.

The OP argues that the system is trash because it gives you 1 less slot from FFXI; A completely different MMO with completely different battle rules and calculations.
