Eureka Weapon/Armor upgrades next patch?

Anyone know if the next patch related to Eureka will enable us to upgrade our Weapons/Armor to ilvl 365? xD.

One has to wonder why they have added armour then if it is not being upgraded for sometime

The same as every AF set has been upgradeable to a degree

AF1 had an augment just to make them dye-able.
AF2 had the augment for an increase ilvl by 10 and make them dye-able.
AF3 at least was a pretty nice ilvl boost (290 to 350 at Anemos Stage) and the usual dye-able trait.

Granted, it'd be great if they can upgrade it in 4.4. But as is, its within "expected" from them.

Probably will upgrade armor eventually, but they need to make sure tome/crafted/raid gear is higher ilvl than Eureka armor. This is because Eureka Armor can be gotten in a few days but Tome/Raid gear takes weeks due to lockouts. So 365 armor will probably come out when tome/raid gear is 380-385. If it were to come out now, nobody would bother with i360 tome/crafted gear since why bothrt getting 450 tomes per week or doing 24-man when you can spam Eureka and deck yourself out completely?

But as is, Sigma gear is already unlocked and the Greed-o-rama Wipehouse ain't exactly an appealing venue for items. Relic Armor ar 360 would still keep raid gear relevant (savage gear which is the one that matters) and give people an easy venue.

I'm more concerned that they keep adding catch up weapons to EX Primals instead of making them the "glamour glow" editions by default. Even more so now that crafted gear is a decent start on every new raid release patch.

Relic Armor 360 would reduce the importance of tome gear. Tome gear should always be stronger than Eureka gear (until the final form?) because it has a lockout limit, whereas Eureka does not.

It wouldn't since the Ryumyaku items can be upgraded to 370 via hunts(which can be rather easily farmed too) and ivalice-themed tokens. Only thing it would make "useless" would be the Alliance Raid gear itself. And at this point we can all see its greed only due to the Vaan outfit.

Depends. You still need the base 360 piece which is from lockout tomes to even get the 370 which substantially slows down your gearing rate and makes Alliance Raid gear more attractive. If you are just starting right now or returning you don't have that many tome pieces to upgrade making the unlimited hunt upgrade items pretty much useless. In the same way, if you want to gear alt jobs you need to wait for tomes to get the 360 pieces before you can upgrade them.

If Eureka supplied the same ilvl as alliance raid and even base tome it would be too easy to gear up all your alt jobs which they probably don't want.

Besides, they already have the upgraded crafted gear which is also 360 so they basically traded upgraded eureka gear for the upgraded crafted gear which is a similar option but severely limited by gil which doesn't completely kill off the alliance raid gear since there are probably people that aren't going to drop millions on alt job gear.

The only thing I wish they added to Eureka even if they were 355 are accessories. There aren't that many options for those compared to left side.

It would make some sort of sense if they dropped the weekly lock on the tomes and alliance raid (good luck winning anything@greed only with no lock) and keeping the upgrade items weekly locked/removing the hunt upgrade items. So you would have 4 options at 360 gear but for 370 it would still be locked. Doubt they would do that though since 360 is sufficient for most content in the game and they need to prolong the patch by 3 months.

We agree on this and I know my statement has its caveats, but the reasoning to not "undermine" the value of alliance raids doesn't add much when the "greed" only option makes getting loot there a much bigger struggle than it should be.

I don't think we'll ever get any further upgrades to the armour. It takes them (iirc) 6 months to make a unique gear set from scratch, and there's not a chance in hell they're going to have the resources to make 15 unique gear sets on top of the usual dungeon/raid/tome/glamour sets.

Right. The next trial should drop accessories in my opinion. They did it with Shiva/Ramuh. We have a ton of weapon options already.
