"My Power, My Pleasure, My Pain"

...so, was this quest written with the idea of

"Hey, you know everything people hate about MMO questing, lets put it all in one quest, repeatedly."?

Cause if so, success.
Lampooning it by putting the words 'fetch quest' in the NPC dialog don't HELP. They just rub it in players' faces.
NPCs thrown in completely out of place, jokes about people dying, forcible tie-ins to a song over 20 years old...

An entirely unreleated, storyless drivel of a quest shoehorned into an unlock path.

Whoever designed this quest, fire them.

I thought it was an amusing interlude. Especially how they poked fun at the whole thing in the dialogue.

Different strokes. I thought the whole thing was hilarious and very self referential. I laughed at several points of the whole thing. Some people are going to be annoyed, some people are going to be infuriated, but some of us are going to be hugely amused and enjoy the whole thing.

I was almost singing. I didnt actually break out. As for the quest, it both amused and infuriated me. Which is kinda hard to do.

Well they did take elements people were absolutely tired of and added it all in the quest chain. Fate and fetch quests

FYI, the reference to this quest starts at 3:20 but I recommend seeing it from the beginning.

If people are tired of junk then maybe doing less of said junk would be the better way to go about it? When you make a quest that has said junk in it, and then you make fun of it, it starts to feel like the Player is the one being mocked.

idk. i thought it was vaguely amusing and silly. after they said they needed time to do research it would have been weird if the next quest was available immediately so they needed something in between there. the quest wasn't even that long. complaining about fetch quests is essentially complaining about one of the core mechanics of mmos.

and it was better than having to deal with that little shit ramza some more

I would love to know just what went wrong... Ramza was a cool character in FFT.

Maybe young garleans suck? I get the feeling that this will be answered in the next set.

That moment toward the end of the most recent set where new Ramza is seemingly controlled by old Ramza after interacting with what im assuming will end up being the Virgo stone gives me a feeling that theyve been doing it on purpose for their narrative.
