Sounds like exactly why they don't mention certain things until the full patch notes. Prevents people from being able to prepare to make lots of gil.

Also, I didn't expect them to put the whole right side AND both side of gear, materia will be high on demand for quite some time (and Now i'm not sure I'll have enough)

Also, do you guys think we'll have another tier of crafting gear? (supposing the 4.x series end with 4.5)

We won't have new gear next patch that's for sure, and then I don't see them introducing a new tier of crafting gear for the last patch. What do you guys think?

Might be wrong, but I think that right now this is the "get ready" gear for crafters. We have an entire new gear for crafting but no new equipment for fighters so I'd suggest to craft the new gear and wait for the new patch before melding anything in it.

I mean, they've been following this pattern since the introduced Ironworks gear. It really shouldn't come as a surprise that they added an entire set of DoH/L gear with this patch.
They added the Ironworks DoH/L sets in 3.3, giving crafters/gatherers one major patch to prepare for the DoW/M sets added in 3.4.
4.1 added the Ala Mhigan DoH/L sets, giving crafters/gatherers one major patch to prepare for the DoW/M sets added in 4.2.
Now they've added a new DoH/L gear, so crafters/gatherers can prepare for the DoW/M sets that will be added in 4.4.

Unless they decide to have the 4.x series continue past 4.5, the newly added DoH/L set is the Ironworks set of Stormblood, and will likely last you till 76+ (if they increase the level cap by 10, in 5.0).

I can't see materia VI dipping at 1500 yellow a pop. Infact I'd imagine it will shoot up a bit while demand is high for the new sets. I can see myself and Mutamix spending plenty of quality time together over the next few weeks...

Because we don't know what will be the requirements for the next DoW/M sets. You could start by maxing out CP, but sometimes it's better to meld CP in the last slot and you'd have less chances to put the other materias. As of right now, I think the Ala Mhigan set is enough. Plus, the materials to craft every tool for every class (both crafters and gatherers) as well as sets and accessories are -INSANE-. Basically, you'll have to buy hundreds of crafting material in Rhalgr and from the new Namazu tribe (you'll need 99 of their money), not to mention the special demimateria you buy with yellow scripts. 182 in total for 15 yellow scripts, that's 2730. Can be done quite easily but damn, that's a lot.

Yeah it will take some time but it's doable.
My bf gives me all his namazu token anyway

I think that as long we put some craftsmanship materia here and there and have slightly more than the new blue gear we'll be fine

Regarding CP for last slots, that what I do bit I wish I could buy at a fair price rank 1 and 2 materia.

I have 500 rank 4 but it takes quite some time to put them in the last slot (and the Stat becomes ugly red T_T)

Do the Ixali dailies, that'll get you 5 grade 1 materia or 3 grade 2 materia per oaknot, with the two sets of dailies giving a total of 9 oaknots.

Same advice as Nezerius, the daily quests from the Ixali will provide you with many grade 1 and 2. Also don't forget that you can buy many grade 4 with red scripts.
