It will range from doable to foking annoying if you fail some action and get poorly timed glowing orbs
Do we know if we get the new craftable rightside? It's about time no?
Confirmed 3943/29579. And all rightside gear as well. Lots of new gear: primaries are ilvl345 and secondaries are ilvl325. Body gear is ilvl 340, for both DoL and DoH.
Maker's Mark again? o.o
Anyone know where to get the Hawk's Eye Sand? Every piece I've seen needs it.
Of course one of the couple crafters i dont have leveled to 70 yet... will have to rely on my friend. I can get the Hawk's Eyes, he can convert them for me. Lol. I'm not really crafting right now, though. Gathering and selling mats on mb. First time I've ever had gatherers and crafters at max level for patch. Don't think I've ever made money this fast before.
Anyone got any good rotations for this? Even using MaMa to the max?
Sigh, I just got my ilvl 320 set & haven't even overmelded it. I'm just going to continue to gather materia and overmeld my 320 set & get the new stuff later. It's not like I can even get the King Demimateria yet anyway. My GSM is at 283. If & when I do get it should I hold off on overmelding it to wait & see what gear comes out next? I'm pretty sure I can craft the new stuff even with my old 290 gear but it's a royal pain in the butt having to use so many delineations to do so, so I'd really like to get my 320 set overmelded asap.
Oh, btw what's everyone's thoughts on the new Yellow scrip offhand items? I think the stats are pretty darn nice & with the exception of having no CP they're a LOT higher than anything I could meld so I'm currently getting all of those. Belts & accessories don't seem worth it though. Stats on my overmelded 290 gear are as good if not better.
I'm looking at the rotation today. I strongly suspect its going to require Mama to the max though until maybe you're wearing the new gear itself.
I did a test on the next crafting food without any HQ and using basic tempura only.
I managed to reach an average of 90% HQ chance.
Many new mats are easier than this to craft. With a few HQ it should easily be doable without using mama
The new crafting and gathering foods have the same requirements as previous 3 star food.
The new crafting earrings have Diff. 3943 vs. 3548 for silvergrace combat earrings. Hawk's eye sand is easier than G 2 infusions. Except for the materials of course.
I'm in the same boat as you, more or less. My 320 stuff is partially overmelded to get the CP up and then I'm grabbing blue tools for everything. I think I'll be able to craft the new gear with full HQ mats, HQ food and tea, and using an Initial Preparations rotation. Mats are all set, I just need to get home from work and make the attempt.
My Base Stats
1585 Craft
1522 Control
476 CP
Specialist
Requires the new crafting food "Matcha"
Non-HQ item base:

HQ all but hawk's eye:

with hawks eye its 100% quality.
This is using 4.2 max melded gear (no new offhands etc).
Hope this helps you all
that is the lokyst simulator. http://ffxiv-beta.lokyst.net/#/simulator
pkminer, thank you very much for your rotation! i'm eager to get started on making the new gear but i've always been awful at coming up with good rotations.
I set up a simulator on my dedicated server. i might look into running it on a screen and updating it on patch days when i come home from work. for those interested:
http://91.121.70.67:8001/#/simulator
:) i only have it set to black smith (im not updating all new crafts every update just the "base" requirements so i can work out a rotation for the "required" new max quality and difficulty.)
For 4.3 it is the cross-pein hammer. you want to search :)
I am just merely managing and updating lokyst's simulator on my dedi using their github and nodejs functionality :). If lokyst doesn't get updated in the next few weeks i can look into making my version fully up to date. and look at the core code to understand how it works and make it work in the next expansion with new leveling data all being well :)
Way too Easy crafts, already making them with full NQ with MAMA with non-spec/spec, and as spec at 1654 start with prep. 490 cp is so nice :P
My stats are 1800 control+ with the new control cp food and cunning tea is my setup
and 1738-1758 craftmanship
490 cp.
no vi Overmelds other than CP in 3 acc.
and not finished melding my tools until 4 star :P
Katylna's Lazy Crafter macros worked for me. I used full Ala Mhigan gear left side, blue tools, and a few melds for additional craftsmanship/control, but mostly melded for CP just to where I hit the minimum CP for the macro with HQ Tempura and HQ Cunning Tea. Nothing was melded past the third materia slot so there was some overmelding, but not a ton, and only like 2 materia VI's. Maybe like 1550/1350 and 454 CP base, but I wasn't tracking as well as you all might like. Specialist for everything crafted, too.
I got too excited that it worked to stop and take notes. Plus my FC finally fielded a full team of 8 for the lighthouse and I had to put my newfound crafter skills to use for the team right away. ^_^
Extremely easy to craft even w/the HQ290 set. It's overmelded but i've only got the 320 chest piece with two control materia VI's in it along with the blue main and off hand items. Of course I'm using the old delienation method since I've only got around 475 or so cp and that's with the tea but it's still easy.
Nearly got my bard in a full set of 350 gear & can continue the storyline. Yay! I wouldn't want to use this method to craft gear to sell because it requires too much effort but it should allow me to catch up & get the new crafting/gathering sets. I'm SO glad I didn't overmeld my 320 set yet. Not that I have the materias I need but it's still nice that I can now just save them & work on the new stuff. I was really surprised at how easy it was to craft these to be honest. You guys/and gals can probably make it super easy if you have the 320 set overmelded. Heck even just the NQ set with a few melds can probably manage it.
Do you guys and girls think this is going to be it for Stormblood/LV70 crafting (and gathering) gear? It's always painful to spend gazillions in crafting/gathering gear and melds just to have newer and far better gear in 3 months...
I sincerely hope this gear lasts at least 6 months. Your take? o.o Will we still get Ironworks-like gear for Stormblood/LV70?
This will last the expansion if you meld it. Look at HW's Iron Works gear this set it basically the same as that as it also came out in 3.3 if i remember correctly. there will be 1 more set that will be "better" but it wont be an Omni set it will be for each class. if you are willing to skip over these then it will last you the expansion as regards an end-game crafter PoV just upgrade your weapons accordingly.
Also UPDATE to my rotation.
I am melded in the new gear now (unmelded weapons) grade 5/6 overmelds on left and right and cp's on the weps
Currently on: 1685 Craft, (using ala mhigan MH atm). New Offhand.
Control: 1742
CP: 493
New crafts now go to 86% with that rotation. if you are melded the same as me you can put an innovation in and make it go up by a few % i think to 90/91%. which means 25% hq mats = 100% guaranteed HQ :)
Tried simming a quick rotation into this and got 17k quality.
Put the exact rotation, same item, same specilization into http://ffxiv-beta.lokyst.net/#/simulator (which is updated now) and got 20k quality. The rotation has achieved that 20k quality with the old battle 3 star crafts.
Any idea which one is accurate?
mine hasn't failed me yet??? so idk. but work on the principle of mine if its lower if its wrong its more potent :)
It could also be down to how many goods were "predicted" with the simulation.
@pkminer30 Your rotation looks to require a base craftmanship of 1560.
@pkminer30 Nice rotation! I have one suggestion though: Swap Piece by Piece in step 19 with Hasty II in step 22 so that Hasty II benefits from Ingenuity. It should bump you from 20551 quality built to 21216.
Thank you for that. I am currently using a different rotation atm to match the new gear im getting 34k quality from this one with my current stats no hasty's. I just posted my old rotation to help those who may be struggling to do the current crafts in the old ala mhigan sets and who dont want to use makers mark.
non makers based. its using initial prep still its just a bit more potent by having more moves at IQ 11 stacks still 100% guaranteed no RNG. My last rotation is still relevant and my new 1 is based on it by moving a few things about and adding a couple moves in.
I am trying to create a good rotation for non-specialist class for the 4.3 gear at the moment. So far the best I can manage with my current stats though is around 80% HQ...anyone have any suggestions? :)
Lately, I've been trying to create my own rotations, for a change. As far as experimentation go, MaMa has been the best I can do for the 4.3 gear.
Also, I worked on rotations for the components, like veteran tree sap, but even when I tried to find my own things, I always came back to a slightly modified version of Katlyna's rotations in order to get a good enough HQ chance (but not so great, really).
Didn't see anyone post this yet. But thanks to the larger CP pool the following adjustment to the Initial Prep rotation is possible:

Only works with high enough craftsmanship (add another 50-70 craftsmanship and you can save 7 CP by replacing Careful Synthesis III with II).
EDIT:
Of course you can also just go with minimum craftsmanship and less CP with the old rotation:

Still not too bad.
From messing about with the sim, it seems the 493 cap is just 1 point short for even better rotations, which is a shame. This is the best I've come up with so far, using Seyb's stats as a base. A smidge more control should be 100% from NQ mats.
https://s33.postimg.cc/6t3vg3ycv/Craft_6.jpg
If you manual craft this, you should be able to take a Precise Touch on Good proc instead of any of the Prudent Touches. Then replace the Basic Touch at the end with a Prudent.
Also on the off-chance anyone is making their own set and finds it useful, I'm using this one for crafting Veteran Sap/Dust in standard Ala Mhigan gear with one HQ material.

Ha! Nice one, good job.
You made me toy with it some more.
This one gets a TINY bit more Quality (with the calculator). However, I'm not 100% sure if the figures are correct.

And this one would be an easy 100% HQ from NQ mats, but I'm missing about 60 craftsmanship.

Never mind, this one might just work:
