Monk and Alchemist. I'm a healer at heart that likes to fight and back my team up till the end.
Black Mage....mostly because I go for any kind of magic-based/casting class that's available. I don't really like fighting enemies up close and prefer to stay at a distance (mostly because in games that did require me to be a brawler/melee, it resulted in death due to poor reflexes at dodging and blocking, so, I like shooting things at a distant and killing them before they reach me).
I abused the crap out of Ruby in Dark Cloud....until I got to final boss where she was freaken useless. T_T
Dragoon
Started with the class and loved it ever since just keeps getting cooler moves and Titles
Like Nastrodon is cool,Always gets cool af armor
And its super fun
Monk for life! The pace and rhythm of combat is perfect, but Dragoon is a close second. In reality I'm a tank underneath it all, and at the moment I enjoy all of them. >_>
DRK--The 30-50 quest storyline is SO good. It's the best one I've played so far. And it really really aligned with my frustration in ARR to a T. So far, I don't like the 50-60 storyline (it was really... bad in comparison to the first storyline), but I heard it picks up again 60-70, so here's hoping it gets good again!
AST--is my main class. Story sucks. My original was White Mage, which I found to be really boring and slow and heavy and I didn't like the sounds either. When AST came out with the buffs, I was like "bruh, I am on it." I love how adaptable AST is. I can switch between the sects depending upon the circumstances, and I like how noticeable the buffs help like with enhanced arrow.
BRD--Bard, like AST, is a little more flexible and adaptable and uses buffs and dots and so on, which I like. I also like that I can run around while attacking stuff simultaneously. Unfortunately, I think the bard storyline is crap. I got a little emotional for one bit of it but that was it.
AST - love the aesthetic
DRG - not many class in mmorpg focus on using spear so i like this one too
BLM - i like it because i just like mage in general, not really enjoying the class story though its just so so for me
Indeed. The 30-50 questline is the best I've experienced in the game by far, and the lv50 quest destroyed my face. My 'other' self literally echoed everything I was feeling at this point in the game.
As good and as much as I've enjoyed that questline, WHM is still my favorite job. But it is also my favorite all-time job in this franchise. My combat thirsty DRK is way up there, but I will always be a healer. I also like the attire and femininity that is tied with the job, and the lore is pretty good too!
Machinist- love gun jobs in any game shame it's so unpopular and has a stigma of being bad/confusing to some people but I'll main it until the next calamity
DRK - best background story (knights who would rather give up their shield and status to fight a corrupt system than be a part of that system), best quests, coolest weapons and animations, TBN, somewhat lag friendly gameplay (no random procs), flexible rotation, being a tank, nice cat mounts and the fast queue times.
Dark Knight.
Story is great, Sid is great, the thematics of the class and animations of the abilities are great.
Place it's in is not so great, but I'll play it anyway.
Black Mage because you blow stuff up, it has some crazy aoe if you know what you're doing especially when Foul lines up to use twice in a row. Plus we can use Flare 4 times in a row if we wanted, it's just not normally necessary.
Oh, and Aetherial Manipulation is the best skill in the game.
BLM first and foremost because I love being me a glass cannon and the story aligns only too well with my chara's RP settings.
AST because I like the versatility and the utility
BRD because I like the aesthetic and the bowmance between the NPCs gets me every time. Also hurray for no more bow-mage
Prior to SB... Monk. Bard and DRK were up there, but a speedy Monk (if lagging very little) was some of the best combat I'd ever played in any MMO. Modular control, macrorotation, constant repositioning, fairly high APM, and it all just flowed so well -- though not without proper prethought.
As of SB, most of the things HW Monk does right, Samurai does better than SB Monk. Now... on the rare day when whatever's changed between the swap to west coast US servers for NA and now isn't rocketing my packet loss... probably Ninja. Or Samurai. Speed Monk is decent, but sadly underpowered relative to its duller low-Skill Speed variant, which just makes the pangs of gameplay lost sting worse.
Dark Knight for the story and Samurai cuz its not complex to play
1) MCH. It just..."feels" like my character. While I prefer the HW incarnation it's still fun, and fits any composition. Also some of the coolest glamours ;)
2) BRD. Technically my main now I guess, I love the extra emphasis they put on music, and flows really well in combat. I feel obliged to progress on it just because I know I'm objectively better at it than MCH though, and doesn't feel as chaotic to mess up on.
3) MNK. My original main prior to HW, still my favourite melee, love the pacing and heavy hitting animations like TFC and EF.
4) FSH. Because I've come too far not to keep a 100% Pokédex, and looking forward to the big fish in 4.3!
Bump!!!...
SAM for the raw damage while being in the middle of everything not to mention most of their weapons don't look too ridiculous
For battle classes it's gotta be MNK. I really like their skills.
For crafters it's definitely CUL. I like their af gear, ahah.
And for gatherers it's fishing because it's fun!
