Housing Feature Request: Ability to evict unwanted "guests" from houses.

Fun fact: This'll be my first post. On any forum, ever. Woo! \o/

Okay, seriously now. Title pretty much says it all.. But let me tell you the full story.

As I was returning home, with intentions to go to sleep, because at the time it was 1:00am and I was quite tired.. I found a player standing outside my home, looking into my garden. It appeared as though they were admiring it.

After some small-talk, I invited the player inside my home to check out the interior, since they already seemed to be admiring the exterior.. Well, the player immediately bolted downstairs, found my bedroom, and proceeded to simply stand AFK on top of my bed.. And has done so for just about two hours now.

TLDR, if we as players had the ability to evict unwanted guests from our homes, this problem would never have occurred. And I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to either.

Here's hoping this feature can and will be implemented soon.

Quick note I would like to add: After having written my original post, I immediately went back to check if the offending player was still in my home.. They are not. I will assume this is the work of the GM Team, and for that, they have my sincerest thanks.

The gm's are not going to remove someone from inside your house, they prob left or logged out. If you don't want anyone in your personal house you can lock the door. No one can actually do anything inside your house except look around, unless you add someone as a tenant and also give them the permissions to do so, you could have gone to bed.

We should still have the ability to kick people out of the house, because even if they "can't do anything" someone can certainly still be disruptive. For example: people just loooove to troll RPers. My FC was holding an RP event in our house and we had a group of people come in and start spamming chat, standing on top of people, and spamming spells like Holy. Locking the door won't kick them out once they're already inside, and it would have prevented others who wanted to legitimately attend the event from entering. We ignored them to close out the chat side of things, but ignoring does nothing to hide their models or cancel their spell effects.

Correct me if this already exists, but I think that blacklisting a player should automatically remove a player from your house and prevent them from coming in regardless of if the house is unlocked or not

It will not. Blacklisting is basically a chat filter.

People might want to have their homes open, especially if they have friends that visit often. "Locking the door" will prevent friends from entering the house and even players with no trolling intent who actually really like the house and want to get to know the owner or make friends if they have the same taste or interest in decorations and housing. We should have a housing feature in which, the housing owners can remove or ban a player or players from entering our homes if they are causing us undo stress or trolling. SE needs to expand on the blist feature. Chat filter blisting isn't enough as you can even still pty with players on your blist via DF.

I was addressing the OP's specific comment, not the overall housing problems. And the issue isn't with the system it's with ppl, you aren't going to stop someone from being an ass if that's what they want to do. I agree that the blacklist should keep ppl from entering your home. This has been asked for since housing came out so don't expect it to change, and honestly housing has bigger issues that need to be addressed.

A better option would be a Guest list that people can put their name on when a house is locked. Players come up add their names to the Guest list then the owner would have 3 options. 1. confrim: Allowing the player to enter at anytime 2. Deny: No entry ever 3. One time entry: Player is allowed to enter, but once they exit the house they cant enter again until they are admit again.

It would also be nice to have the option to unlock your house for anyone on your friendslist - so you'd have the options:
1) Open
2) Open for friends (and guests) only
3) Open for guests only (if you have people on your friendslist that you dont want in your house)
4) Locked for everyone (except self+tenants)

it doesn't matter that that's the only option we have right now, this is a thread asking for a feature to be implemented, and one that is sorely needed. a "suggestion" like that contributes literally nothing of value to this thread.

just because people are jerks sometimes doesn't mean we shouldn't have or ask for things to help us avoid jerky people.

also, just because this suggestion has been made before doesn't mean it won't be implemented. we've had multiple threads asking for more partition doors and guestbooks, both of which we just got. we had tons of requests for wallpaperable partitions - guess what we got? requests for being able to use more than one of a style of bathtub, dozens of other requests that were made repeatedly that did, eventually, get addressed once the demand for it grew big enough.

Hi all. I would just like to make it clear to those who mentioned it, that I do always have my house locked. It was purely because the player looking at my house at the time seemed to have taken an interest in it, that I unlocked it (and only briefly at that) to allow them inside to take, what I thought was going to be, just a quick look. By no means am I a programmer or a game designer or anything of the like, but I fail to see the ability to remove someone from what is essentially your property, being something that either wouldn't be allowed, or difficult to make happen. To me it seems a simple quality of life update, and, well, had we had the ability to do so in the first place, I would never have had to waste the time of any GM, or any of you replying in my thread. =P
