"New hairstyleS have been added". I only see one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They never show everything that's been added in the patch notes.
The AST changes displease me on a conceptual level. Lightspeed was made all the more into an MP cooldown rather than an emergency heal. They want us to use it which is why they removed the damage debuff but I really wish they had gone another route with this instead. Not to mention that it's still only MP cost reduction, we'll see how much it'll help instead of another source of active MP refresh. It feels like they're sacrificing AST utility just to keep them with mana (Lightspeed, Celestial Opposition used to prolong your Ewer and Lucid Dreaming). Oh well, we'll see how it plays. Lining up the cast time to give room for cards sounds nice.
Aspected Helios cast time reduction is a welcome change, though.
I think their idea for this was to increase their dps to be at least a bit above Monk with Brotherhood. It should be easier to hit 7k anyway
"Enable city-state BGM in residential areas." Finally i was gonna go insane if i heard that resident music ever again
Quite the contrary, whilst I’d have liked to see a few more tweaks to make Noct more competitive again, the Lightspeed change is good stuff and fixes it’s lack of versatility or the need to click it off when you invariably do all your healing and want to get back to DPSing. To say it’ll be a huge boost for ASTs chasing DPS in dungeons will be an understatement.
Also note that You wont throw more malefics over a given period of time with these changes so it’s not going to change your MP sitation, rather it’s there to give AST some actual breathing space to get cards done between nukes rather than clipping and stalling their GCD endlessly.
The only real thing that matters in this patch other than the Namazu mount. Now if they could let us change glamour plates on the field and we'll be golden.Quote:
Glamour plates can now be linked to gear sets.
"Additional items can now be converted to glamours."
What exactly does this mean? I thought it meant they increased how many items can be placed into the dresser (which is sorely needed). But seeing the "200" limit still in a screenshot, I don't know if it means that or "the new 4.3 gear can be added to the dresser." The latter would be really disappointing and incredibly stupid to add to the patch notes.
AST changes are incredibly strong. The 1.5 cast time won't let you cast more Malefic IIIs. Instead this was made so you're not constantly clipping cards, which will actually increase your dps if you're using it right.
As for the Lightspeed buff. Its borderline broken. Half MP cost and full mobility with no DPS debuff for 10 seconds every 120 seconds?
Pair this up with Celestial Opposition and it's 20s, and don't forget the trait that lowers the Lightspeed CD, which I now feel like should be 5 seconds not 10 seconds.
Like I said, I'll see how it plays, and there's always the likely option I'll need to tweak how I play it. Or even just how I think about it since until now it had a certain role in my head but they're obviously taking it somewhere else. I do like that they're doubling down on it being the speed-healer as that's certainly what really sets it apart from SCH and WHM more-so than the cards when it comes to healing.
Change to frontline's little disappointing I mean I like being able to select all three and get put into a random one from those three choices. This may reduce the waiting time of course and it's just only 24 hours and we get a next one but still it's like you know want something different especially if you're doing a marathon or what not.
The DRK changes made them a fair bit better at personal defense and enmity generation, but I feel like WAR/PLD are still going to be mostly preferred for their party mitigation.
Oh, hey the all greed in the 24 man its a thing.... Yay...
New flowers, DRK buffs, cross world Linkshells and Namazu quests, I'm liking it! Also these are beautiful:

The Sam "buff" is sad but at least they are getting something i guess. Red Mage has yet to be touched and does not sound like they have any intentions on changing it
I CAN FINALLY WINK WITHOUT LOOKING WEIRD!
Ah, but... Besides that... Instant cast Whispering Dawn has me happy as hell. The change to Lightspeed seems pretty good too for now to me. Will have to see how good it is in game.
The Sam buffs are a joke if you sugarcoat it then SE thinks it's okay.
really mogstation items and (all) Af gear should be a Armoire thing AND keep there dyes
its such a flawed storage system
No WHM changes, but SCH/AST buffs when SCH/AST already was META. What are they trying to do with WHM again? I can understand the QoL changes, but the buffing of the potency of Whispering Dawn for example. I hope the WHM changes are being saved for the full patch notes though. Is there a history of them withholding all changes to some classes until the full patch notes?
Also, this... why just why PC/Mac only?

Already have the Eastern Lady's Attire in there (from Mog Station). Wedding attire and the Eternity Ring are notable exceptions to the rule of MS glamour can already be added to the dresser.
I'm happy to see Squadron changes: Level 52 and 47 leveling dungeon; Gear repair NPC; Lock removes x button. All stuff I wanted.
Squadron missions are one of my favorite ways of leveling alt jobs when I have free time and now instead of having to stop at 50, it will last until about level 55.
Hoping a future patch will have The Aery and/or The Vault to get a better option for leveling to 60 via Squadrons.
As long as you enjoy it, it's best not to worry about what everyone else is doing.

And honestly, their track record with adjusting WHM has usually been to weaken things. We've had a couple of nice changes here and there, but I'm personally OK being ignored for a patch or two :X

Please mean that Eos will actually use Cov/Illu the first time I hit the button and not the 15th time.
I use that macro too, it doesn't require as much button mashing but for me the auto embrace still screws it up sometimes (if it's an AI one, Eos doesn't care about you if there are a lot of people below the auto embrace threshold) before she uses an ability so it gets delayed by up to 2-4 seconds even with the macro. With this change I hope it just goes off immediately no matter what. The only time it is actually responsive for me is if everyone is above the auto embrace threshold and she isn't casting auto embrace.
Also little bumming to see the Chocobo racing change not that it's on Duty Finder but that the entire process is now in the Duty Finder whether you go with a party or solo. Not sure how much that'll change it other than what's been revealed in the notes already.
I've never had that issue. The macro always cancels her auto-embrace for me. However, I don't spam it (spamming messes with the macro even with macro lock). I press once and she starts what I tell her to within 1 second).
Of course it'll be nice to not have to worry about it at all anymore (and it'll be nice for summoner, who couldn't effectively use the macro method because changing steady/guard actually affects how their pets behave).
All in all a good change, and the FU changes sound more interesting. I already use FU quite a bit but sometimes I wait because I know I have a pet skill I'm going to be using. If she's able to interrupt FU in order to use her own skills, that's a huge improvement.
