Least ping dependant DPS?

As the topic suggests, I'm looking for a DPS class that is the least heavily impacted by connection speed, as sometimes, depending on when I play, I notice a good bit of delay from lag (I don't know the exact ms numbers off the top of my head though)

Would anyone mind making some suggestions?

Hmm. Well depending on the severity they'll all be impacted in some form. Maybe Monk? Maybe also Dragoon but being able to double weave helps a lot there. I think Monk might be the best bet. You should still get rotational procs in enough time, and outside of RoF you don't have to double weave (you don't strictly have to inside either though perhaps not opptimal). I'm on the fence about BLM, it logically shouldn't be too affected but knowing how cast bars/timers are in this game...hm....don't have much experience with BLM and high ping.

I should at least mention that my connection MOST of the time is fairly stable, it just seems to happen when I'm in an area with either:

A. A lot of stuff going on on screen

B. PEAK peak hours, so the servers are understandably bogged down.

Samurai, not really hard to play, steady dps if you know at least your rotation... And almost no double weaving.
Just don't play MCH or Mage if you've ping. Really.

Just based on the couple of levels I've taken it to experiment, it seems very much like an easy class to play on a basic level, but one of the hardest to play EFFECTIVELY, if that makes sense.

Not so hard in fact ;)
The only things to know it's the management of kenki for the Shinten, but it's not very difficult.

SAM and RDM. Tho... i think it's deadly for SAM to not be able to jump in and out of melee range, due to delays :| At 62, your secondary resource (Kenki) is pretty easy to maintain, so that's at least one bonus.

BLM's fine at high ms. Higher delay is mostly a problem for oGCD heavy jobs which BLM doesn't have too many to worry about, nor are they having to worry about double weaves galore.

Bit of bias here, but you could consider SMN!

Apart from general opener considerations, you don't have to double weave that much. There's a lot of windows for single weaves which ping will not impact. I personally main it on NA from EU at 220ms (or 170ish with a VPN). Double weaves are an inevitable clip for me but I just eat and deal with it where I have to, pets can be less responsive but there are tricks you can use to adapt it to your favour. Bahamut windows need a bit more care to ensure 11 real wyrmwaves are performed.

The job can still perform very strongly while being a lot of fun.

I know there was a link to the 4.2 opener lying around here on the forums on imgur, but I seem to have lost track of it, do you happen to have that handy?

Sure, this is my discord pins document which has a lot of general information, with this section covering openers.

The openers may seem a little intense at first but after some practice they're fine like the openers for any other job.

I wouldn't recommend RDM. Core rotation is based on procs, and with lag they can not trigger in time, or worse, seem to trigger but cancel when you try and use them.

Is it high ping, or packet loss? High ping blm can be pretty cozy, but if you get packet loss on your f1 to reset astral fire, or your b3 to enter umbral I've when you have a few seconds left, you'll have a bad time.

I would say play whatever you want as long as your ping is below 200ms.
I personally play with 120~130ms and had no issues with any job that I got to lvl 70 including MCH.

And I main BRD which has the highest CPM (Cast per minute) but still do decent despite my ping.

This very important actually. I can lower my ping to 100ms but I noticed that by doing so I get a lot of packet loss which leads me to suffer a lot. While 120-130ms is very stable and rarely get any packet loss.

BLM definitely. They have the least actions per minute of any class, and of the few oGCD abilities they have most of them are situational rather than rotational and will be used in situations where you're going to lose GCD anyway like moving out of AoE etc. They are also the only class where many of their cast times are longer than the GCD, which means that you're going to be clipping regardless.

We'll, there's still effective ways to weave on blm without clipping much. The packet loss concern is still very large though if it's that and not just high ping. Because a spell fizzling out in certain spots of your rotation, will destroy you pretty hard (losing enochian)

Could also throw in a very strange choice and say bard. You don't always have to be a perfect bard in personal dps as long as you keep your songs going 24/7 and line up your other buffs for the party. Group dps contribution will still be quite high, even if you're single weaving abilities. Still would say blm is better for you if it's NOT packet loss, but it's something to consider. You could just be smashing buttons on bard, but if you keep crit buff up and refresh for the healers, people probably won't even notice.

Ninja can be a pita with it's mudra system and any sort of lag and what not. So i would not advise of that job

In this game ping not even matter that much. I played all healers and tanks, drg, smn, blm etc once eu servers was still in Canada during 2.0 and did not have any problems playing any job. Ninja or mch may have small ping problems, but anything else is pretty much fine.

Technically you want to avoid anything that weave (and espcially double)

I'm no Monk expert so I can say for this job but I support the above claim that Samuraï is a good idea.

BLM has little weave BUT you might have a hard time knowing if you can finish your cast or not.

I wouldn't advice DRG at all. Not only because of the weaving but also because of the animation lock (added with the alg it might be nasty)

Ninja / SMN and MCH are no go imo.

So I'd say
Melee : Sam (monk maybe i'm not sure)
Range : RDM (eventually BLM if you don't do Savage)
